VARICOCELE...can it effect testosterone?

Im new to this thread. Can someone help my problem? Im not sure if this is varicocele related but i do have one on my left side.

For about 3 years, my testicles get rock hard when I get an erection, walk up the stairs, do pushups or other strenuous activity. (It seems to get less hard when Im just resting). It seemed to get smaller, and now my testicles are as small as I have felt. It feels like a grape, when it used to be pretty big. I am really worried about my testicles getting even smaller and my confidence is going downhill. I get depressed about this because I feel like no one out there has the same experience as me and that I cant tell anyone about this except my doctors. (I have visited the urologist/doctors many times and they have told me not to worry). But now, I cant not worry about my testicles getting even smaller.

Also, I have had a varicocele for about 3 years as well, and my left testicle is smaller than my right because of this. But does this varicocele cause the hardening and shrinkage of BOTH testes? Im guessings its due to some kind of blood flow problem. What is going on?

I am in the same boat as you, got my Varicocele in July(on my left side) since then my testicles have shrunk to practically nothing, the size of small grapes, I imagine your Testosterone is very low as mine is very low, most urologists and doctors are basically useless, if they cant give you drugs for the problem they really could care less

I'm Backkkk

Hellooooo...

My name's Aaron and i just finished reading the 11 pages you guys have here.. Thanks Hyde for your easy to read replies and Megazoid for putting together a website (if you ever finish it :P) to help out other people with Varicoceles..

I'm 20 years old and have a stage 3 varicocele.. My left Testicle is extremely small about the size of a pistachio nut (without the shell). My right is regular size.. My scrotum hangs low about 80% of the time and the Varicocele is very apparent when you look at it.. The back of my scrotom on the left side looks like a bunch of 3-dimensional tubes that are quite big and my left-tesitcle is surrounded by tiny veins flopping down from the epididmys.

I was first Diagnosed with a varicocele at the age of 14-15.. i've had it all my life but it didn't become obvious 'til around that age.. Doctor said it was nothing to worry about and that i might have to have surgery later because of infertility problems.

Now at 20 i've started to go to the gym everyday, drink protein + eat quite a bit and I am not gaining muscle like i should be.. Talked to the doctor about my testosterone levels and she said i was just tripping out and at my age i shouldnt have a problem.. i'm just now starting to grow facial hair (last couple months and not fully everywhere) and i am 3 months from turning 21.

I wake up with morning woods.. i have a decent sex desire however my erection only holds for so long during sex.. It almost seems like i'm really horny all of the sudden and the desire goes away moments after being taken care of.. I've done tons of research on Varicoceles over the last couple years and have had an ultrasound done.

My questions are basically as follows: (for anyone who HAD the surgery)
1.) Did your testicle increase in size after a few months (if so by how much x1.5? x2?)
2.) Do you seem to last longer in the bed and seem to have stronger erections?
3.) Is your desire for sex increased?
4.) If you work out, did you notice any difference in your muscle development post-surgery?
5.) If your scrotum hung low before due to the large veins stretching the skin out, did the scrotum seem to suck back up and appear normal after week/months of recovery?

My ex-gf is more woman than i could handle and ridiculously hot so she's pretty much been my incentive to be the most man i can be after seeing what it's like to have such a woman.. I last anywhere between 30-70 minutes a session but it's not erect throughout the whole time and i go in and out of desire.

I've prolonged the surgery because i wanted to gain some muscle before getting it done and didn't feel ready for it. I am now really considering it because my sex desire has increased since i've quit smoking marijuana (2 months ago after smoking for 4 years) and changing a lot of lifestyle habits (diet, sleep, & excercise) but my Varicocele makes me feel like my testoserone is out of wack + i'm almost afraid to "hook up" with new women in fear of not being able to please to a decent degree =/.. which is pretty difficult 'cause i'm a good-looking man with a good personality and i LOVE women.... ever since i quit smoking and did my lifestyle changes i've really taken a toll to them and it seems to be that my mind is ingulfed in their beauty :D..

so yeah any input is EXTREMELY APPRECIATED>>.. i'll be checking in soon and giving more input..

Thanks..

Hey guys! I'm back, on the forums.. Just finished reading 12 pages since I've been gone for the last 3 months or so.. Turned 21 and had been working on a lot of personal goals..

Anyhow, I have not had surgery and I'm a stage 3 sufferer of the nasty Varicocele. I'm planning on getting surgery during my Spring Break, I'm waiting on this because I want to gain some more muscle before Surgery and I'm going to School full-time/working part-time so it's not ideal right now. I've gained approx. 20 lbs since i spoke to you guys last..

HELPFUL TIP FROM MY EXPERIENCE: I've been hitting up the gym more and more and eating/taking more protein in over the last 3 months. Just in the last month since i've hit a 160lbs mark my libido has greatly improved and I randomly started growing more facial/ body hair in the last couple weeks.. SO no matter what your condition is, you still have two testicles putting out something and you can up your testosterone levels with muscle gain and reg exercise.

Sex is a bit of an issue for me but I've learned to sadly masterbate and be single at this point in my life 'til i can figure out my dealio. I'm a perfectionist so I prepare and wait for things to be the way I want them to be.

Thanks to Uptempo, your posts have definitely helped me more than anyone elses. Being that you're the same age and height/weight.

I'm going to keep a close eye on this thread now and help whoever needs help. I, like many others, have done a lot of research and can answer a lot of questions. Just thought I'd swing by and say hi again, let people know I'm back to chat and help. ANDDD also let you know that working out at the gym has helped my Libido a lottt.. It takes a few months of breaking in and going all the time though (5 days a week 1-2 hour workouts), but i can definitely tell it's made a huge difference in muscle growth and facial hair :D.. Seems to be the bigger I get the easier it is to get bigger and also the more I'm producing T.. like a chain reaction :D (took forever). Still have erection holding problems sometimes and the hugeeee dragging/pooling problem though :/..

I HAVE ONE QUESTION: To anyone who was doing heavy weight lifting before their surgery, how long before you could train hard again post-surgery?

Much loveee:head:

I wish your experience gives lot of inspiration to folks here on hte board.
your left one is very small
you have varicocele
you cannot hold erections for long.
Even then, you gained muscle and dont have low testosterone symptons. That proves what. Varicoceles and one esmall testicle have nothing to do with testosterone.
Dont worry guys becos of varicocele

READ ALL OF THE BELOW

I think atrophy (shrinkage) of the testicle affects all of its functions and temperature has somewhat to do with it too..

Well I pictured it this way...
I LOVE hot women.. I LOVE the feeling of sex... I didn't give up at the gym and seriously have worked soooo hard at getting muscle >.<...
ONE THING IS FOR SURE PEOPLE... You have what you have, either cry about it forever.. OR.. Do what you can about it.. I am doing everything i can day by day to get the hot wife I'm destined to get ;D.. This is a horrible thing to have but it could be worse, you could be overly obese, have a bad case of warts and unable to use your penis, you could be dying of some disease, etc etc etc... Deal with what you have, trouble shoot everything you can STEP by STEP.. It's managable and you can improve everything.. MORAL: DEAL WITH IT, DO WHAT U CAN.. AND YOU CAN DO A LOT.. mentally, physically.. train yourself.. train train train, practice practice practice.. NOTHING GOOD comes easy.. and fixing this is good >.<

I became so obsessed with being normal I started eating peanuts (mono-unsaturated diet fat increases T levels), working out, quit smoking weed & occasionally drinking, WENT TO BED EARLIER (this helps a ton BY TH WAY), eating healthier.. I am now a health freak and want my body to work the best it can work..

Just having muscle there lets you better feel your PC muscle too, when you learn to flex them all.. so I have harder erections when i can maintain them and muscle by itself lets me pound it even harder ;D...
:bb3:
I recommend working out to anyone who has a Varicocele that is concerned with Testosterone... It is proven that working out improves your T level (Legs and Squats big time).. Get to a gym!! It helped me a ton, I just need to get rid of the 4 inch scrotom hang and the uncomforable veins >.<, cause they interfere quite a bit and i have to wear briefs during sex..

Also if you're concerned about pooling with working out, it's only sometimes and nothing a good night of sleep can't fix.. Seriously going to bed early (11:00ish) has helped with the blood pooling quite a bit.

ONE OTHER NOTE: I did all of these changes near each other so I'm not exactly sure which helped the most (excluding gaining muscle of course).. But the combination of changing all my lifestyle habits has made everything a lot better, i function better overall >.< (physically/mentally)

Airgutter, nice to see you helping people out! This thread has been so helpful before my surgery and after...how come your surgery is so far away in later months? My recommendation though is AFTER your surgery to stop working out a good 3 months just to be sure you don't put any pressure or anything on them ligated veins.

Most definitely :D That was kind of my plan, I'm a hypochondriac so the fact that there's a scar there and knowing that my insides were messed with will keep me away from the gym for a while :P >.<.. I'd be too afraid of a re-occurance or hernia. My post about 4 posts up (the returning one :P) mentioned I'm wanting to wait so i can get some muscle gain before surgery (since it's so damn hard to gain and I will lose quite a bit post surg) and also I am in School(full-time)/Working(part-time) so I don't have the time to get it done right now >.<..

and one other thing about working out LoL..

The human body is extremely effecient in adapting to whatever you send it's way.. so i feel my working out is sort of pulling for extra Testosterone from the testes, therefore my testes are pushing their hardest to create more. Kind of like you produce more saliva if you're hungry and smell a bbq :P but this is an over-time dealio... orrr your bones getting stronger from getting hit in the same spot... orrr your eyes adjusting to being far-sided from too much computer use (me :P).. WIT THAT BEING SAID.. Aim for getting the most T level u can through natural means.. force your body :)

Varicoceles, testosterone level, male pattern baldness and Nightmare Urologist visit

Hi everyone, glad I found this post about varicoceles, its brought me some sanity back!

I have read with interest most of the posts on this thread and I have quite a few symptons that other people have that maybe urologists don't consider. I appologise for it being long but I have broken it down into a bit about me, doctor\urologist visit (nightmare), symptons and questions.

A bit about me; I'm 34, about 6 years ago I noticed my erections werent as big as they had been, thinking this might be temporary I thought nothing more of it. About a year later they were not getting better, I also thought that the skin around my testicles was getting saggier, I realised about 6 months later it was because my testicles were getting smaller. .

This steady decline continued over the next few years and finally late last year I went to my doctor to seek help. First things first he did all the usual blood tests and when I went back to get the results he said everything was normal. I asked what the testosterone result was as a lot of the symptons I am having (more later) pointed towards low testosterone. He said it was 16 on a scale of 9-45. Mmmmm, I maybe wrong but I'm convinced that is way to low for me, after doing lots of research on google. He also examined the testicles and said they seemed normal size etc. I explained that they had decreased in size, problem is they were very very large to begin with and now they have shrunk (considerably) yes they seem normal to him but I know there much smaller than they were!

Anyway, he refered me to an urologist which I went to see last week. I thought this would be the end of my problems. After doing some research on testicles getting smaller I realised that I have (or pretty sure I have) varicocele on both sides. There very noticeable to feel when standing up - the classic bag of worms. I cant feel them when lying down. They do not give me any pain.

I thought once the urologist finds them and there dealt with my testosterone would increase and things would improve. We all know that varicoceles can be felt when standing up but not lying down right?. For some reason my urologist did not check me standing up, I lied down on his couch and he quickly checked the testicles and said they were fine. Again I mentioned they had shrunk but he said they were a normal size. Again frustrating, yes they may seem a normal size but they have lost a lot of there original size. Surprised he had not examined me standing up I mentioned that I had a vein behind the testicle. He said oh yes thats normal, of course I should have said veins like a bag of worms. Anyway he didnt investigate.

He also did an ultrasound scan, problem is he only checked the top of the testicles and not underneath where the veins are, and said everything was fine and they were healthy. Ok great but there not the size they were and I still have varicoceles. Anyway, he then talked about me going on to viagra etc for my Erectile Dysfunction (the reason I went to see him). It was as if he had made his mind up before I had entered his room that the problem would be solved by drugs. I would probably need viagra etc after the varicoceles had been dealt with but I need them dealing with first!

On to my symptoms which I'm sure a lot of you can relate to. Im pretty sure the varicoceles has depleated my testosterone levels giving me the following;

Main one Erectile Dysfunction, shrunken testicles, hardly any erection, hardly any semen. Foggy thinking, lack of motivation, hot flushes occasionaly, irratable, loss of performance in work, difficulty losing weight, muscle turning to fat all over body, loss of strength, indurance. Moody, depressed, hard to concentrate. I also get words mixed up sometimes and my memory is terrible, it used to be excellent. I just cant think like I used to.

I also have male pattern baldness which I am convinced is related to my hormones going out of balance because the testosterone is so low. I have found some evidence to relate the two and would be very interested in other people who have had the same problem. I have no history at all of male pattern baldness in my family. Interestingly, my hair started to recede exactly the same time 6 years ago that my erections became less strong.

Of course I may be wrong, the urologist might be right and I may not have varicoceles so it's onto

Questions;
1 I would like to know what varicoceles feel like to touch when self examing. Mine feel like a lot of veins tied together, and there quite thick - is this what your feel like?
2 From your personal experience if you considered your testosterone to be low but the urologist thought it was normal and you had the same symptoms as me, did they improve after your varicocele was treated and your testsoterone improved?
3 Does anybody know of somewhere in the UK online were I can get all my hormones checked including estrogen and DHT if possible.
4 Does anyone know of a private urologist in the UK that I could see without a Dr's referel. I just want them to check if I have varicoceles if I do I wil get the treatment on NHS.
5 Has anybody had the same experience with hair loss and been able to stop it after there hormones were back in balance?
6 Does anybody have any advice on how I can improve my symptoms? As it stands I know viagra may (or may not) improve my ED but not all my other symptoms!
7 A lot of people have painful varicoceles, has any one got the same symptoms as me and not got painful varicoceles (mine arent painful)

If you've got this far thanks for reading. Any help\thoughts\answers appreciated, PM me if you want. I have a follow up appointment with the urologist in 4 months so all is not lost yet, I just feel so frustrated at the moment.

1) yes, same feeling
2) Haven't the operation yet
3)nope
4)Here in America are urologist which are specialized for varicocele. You may find in UK as well specialists. Search with google.
5)-
6)Well, trt should help
7)I sometimes think after sex then I'm gonna die!!! The varicocele is then thick and hard like a half golf ball. All the other times mostly just discomfort.

Vaiovaio,

I'm sorry to hear about that, it's often frustrating.. I also told my Urologist that I have atrophy to my left testicle and he said I didn't, it makes me really question going through him because both sides are OBVIOUSLY not the same size >.<.. Anyhow for your questions first..

1.) Severe cases of Varicoceles are really easy to find, Standing up and lightly grabbing the veins while flexing your abdominals tight will pump some blood through them and flare them up. They feel like "a bag of worms" as I'm sure you've heard, it feels like there's spaghetti above your testicle >.<.. The spermadic cord is attached to the back of your testicle (epididmys), generally if you have veins on the bottom of the testicle it means that you have a shitload on top I have this case :/ (stage 3 severe)
2.) IF you do in fact have a newly found Varicocele, the shrinkage of your testicle and the lack of producing should return to near normal state after surgery (3-12ish months)..
3.) Can't get that stuff checked online, no idea sorry.
4.) No idea again, sorry live in the U.S.
5.) If you can't identify the varicocele in your testicle and your large now normal sized testicles are normally sized, >.< I regret to inform you the hairloss has no correlation with your Testosterone.. Most of the symptoms you've listed could be psychological from the stress/ frustration from this and other things going on in your life. Are you really stressed? Balding if inherited, comes from your mom's father (grandfather). This also doesn't mean that you can't get it on your own, many people in their thirties have hairloss. I really doubt this symptom has anything to do with your Varicocele, it wouldnt play that big of an affect on you. Also that's not a secondary male characteristic, so I'm not even sure it would follow under the same category >.<. There's people with less testosterone than you that have full head of hair.
6.) I would get on some anti-depressants in my opinion. They'll probably help alleviate most of the problems you have with what's going on. For the other main one's some rogaine for the hair, some hotter sex and more PC muscle control for the ED, and start taking some Vitamins/Gingko for better body functioning and memory. (Don't take Gingko if you have diabetes or bleeding problems). Also, take a very close look at your lifestyle habits. Have you changed anything in the last 6 years, maybe less exercise more T.V.? Are you a smoker (weed or cigs) or a drinker? How often do you exercise? How is your diet? Has your sleep pattern changed?
7.) They're typically not painful, more of a dragging feeling and discomfort.. Only when they get really inflamed do they hurt (or tangled). Your symptoms could be associated with A LOT of things, it's hard to tell. I really doubt most of them are associated with a Varicocele though if your testicle is normal size now and you're having trouble finding it. If it's a light case generally it should only be affecting your sperm. I am not sure if what you have is a Varicocele, it's really hard to tell. If you're dying to know, I would go to a couple different Urologists to get some other opinions. When you're with one too, don't be afraid to ask stuff like: The veins seem a lot larger when I'm standing up, can you inspect them in the upright position. Also do you have any discomfort in that area, and both of your testicles have shrunk the same size and they both feel the same?

There's not enough information to really tell what the cause is, your case could be too early. Also the Atrohpy (shrinkage) is tripping me out a bit as well because usually that only happens if your testicle has vein weight on it and it's completely surrounded, yours from what you've said are just on the bottom :o which shouldn't be there until there's a lot on the top. Here's an illustration I did in paint lol, of what I mean..

*Brown= horrible scrotom >.<*
*tangled part is severe case... My Varicocele takes about twice as much room up in my scrotom as the one I've drawn :/ >.<... the one i've drawn is a like a stage 2"

Vaiovaio,

2.) IF you do in fact have a newly found Varicocele, the shrinkage of your testicle and the lack of producing should return to near normal state after surgery (3-12ish months)..

what makes you say the testicle should return to the normal size after surgery?

As for the OP it definetly sounds like a varicocele, I have all those symptoms as well including the hair loss, though I kind of attributed that to the stress I have been under the last few months

It really depends on a lot, just going off of past cases and what he's told me. It seems like he barely has any atrophy if there is some. I realize he's older but relieving the stress off the testicle should plump it up a bit..

BTW Vaio, have you damaged the general area of your goods prior to all of the symptoms?

do you know what are signs of atrophy

do you know what are signs of atrophy

Signs of Atrophy?

... Atrophy = Decrease in size or partial/complete waste of a body part.

So signs of it would obviously be shrinkage.. Not sure what you mean by asking that question, it's pretty self-explanatory :fing02:

well he said that he did have shrinkage in his testicles and then you said he barely had any atrophy so I thought there was something else

Damn, my doc was sending me home. He said everything is ok and I should just put some warm towels around my testicles or take a hot bath:rocketwhore:

This ****in stupid idiot. I've had the pain for almost 15 years, have had around 574953475934 hot baths in this time and he's keep saying "take a hot bath" IDIOT

Then I asked for androgel and he said that I'm to young for it and won't give me a script.

How old are you? Weird, if there's pain and it's flaring up or bothering you try taking some ibuprofen.. Sorry to hear that

:sad6:

I'm 25. I've had the varicocele for 15 years. I guess taking ibuprofen for 15 years is not very healthy:-). I got used to the pain.

Maybe you are ok =o? If you're 25 and he's saying that.. I'm 21 and my Urologist has been recommending surgery for the past year and a half. >.<..

I`ll do the surgery thursday next week

As many of you, I went to several urologists but they sent me home, saying I`m fine, ok maybe have a varicocele but is subclinical aka stage I... those idiots consulted me lying down on the bad, not standing. I`ve told them when my scrotum is relaxed, the varicocele can be clearly seen through the scrotum and especially in hot summer days I feel my whole scrotum on fire... they responded not to worry too much and sent me home.
So , I went to a general surgeon... who consulted me both standing and lying and gave me indication for surgery... which will be next thursday 22 ian. subinguinal approach, spinal anesthezia. I`m a bit scared, but I`m more scared of my current symptoms than the surgery itself. For the last several months I had a variety of stinging pain in testicles, mild pulsatile pain in the left testicle, and pain along the veins which run from testicles in the abdomen. Also, the scan revealed that I have the left testicle a little small than the right one : 3,4 cm. => 4 cm.
Anyway I will share my experience here, and hopefully the improvements in my overall state of being. GOD bless!

One more thought, though..
A lot of users on this thread are young and very young (18-25 yrs. old) and although they have varicocele they have not experienced yet many of the symptoms we complain about. (I`m 33). So I seem in the same boat with vaiovaio and other users over 30-32 yrs. of age. At your age , maybe I had varicocele, but my youthness masked the symptoms, or maybe the damages had not occured yet.
I also believe that this varicocele this disease is not giving the same symptoms on everyone. the damages are different, even at the people at the same age. My opinion.

Finally went to the pediatrician today, he said he pretty sure it's a varicocele, just as I had suspected. He also said that usually varicoceles don't require surgery unless they are very large and/or causing pain or other bad symptoms, and that he couldn't remember the last kid who came in with a varicocele and later had surgery to fix it.

However, he did refer me to some urologists and said I should go and see one within a few months, which I will do.

I know most of you would say I need to take care of it and have surgery, but should I really push the urologists for surgery when I go to see them (is they don't recommend surgery)? If symptomatic varicoceles are so common, why is there so little information (particularly so little discussion) about them online? Is it really reasonable to think that the symptoms most people on this thread are experiencing are typical of varicoceles?

15% of people have them but most aren't visible to the touch or sight.. Most of the people on here (forum) have a stage 2/3.. and yes, unfortunately the one's who have large varicoceles and shrinkage have some physical side-effects :/..

If yours is not visible to the eye and is not hurting/ uncomfortable I wouldn't touch it for a while. Since you're seeing a pediatrician I'm assuming you're between the ages of 15-17.. You should wait a couple years and see what happens. See how much it grows, if it starts hurting, if it's causing discomfort, and if your libido is seeming to take a hit.. Wait it out a bit :D.. I doubt the Urologist will recommend surgery if it's a mild case you have with zero symptoms.

The way I see it, since the surgery is considered as a minimal risk surgery to most urologists..why not fix the problem since the problem is there, just not amplified..for now...you may be fine now..but down the road when your balls have shrunk it might already be too late. Of course money comes into account too. Finding a GOOD doctor could be a challenge too. Nevertheless, after having done the surgery, its definitely not the same from pre-surgery. I would still feel aches every now and then as this could be a complication of surgery. However, I was glad I did the surgery cause I had blood pooling sensations pulling dragging balls for a month and a half. So if you are already feeling discomfort, I think its a sign to take action, your body is telling you something...something worse could yet to come.

I am going to Thailand to get the procedure done. It is going to cost about $1500. Screw the American Doctors.Take it in your own hands. get a ticket for 800 dollars a month ahead and spend 2500 after lodging and food to take care of it. I will keep everyone updated after I do it. I am also going to use CLC-1295 which is similar to HGH steadily catching up to hgh usage. The only difference is CLC-1295 will not increase your insulin resistence and blood pressure and you only inject twice a week. Might help with any healing and restimulate growth after I recieved shrinkage in that area. I am going to include HCG in my cock tail as well for a few weeks and see what happens. I am going all out....

Good luck manggg... Might be a fun trip before the surgery :D?

4 questions for you:

1.) How old are you?
2.) What stage is your Varicocele?
3.) How come you don't like the American doctors?

&

4.) What happened with L-Arginine? Was that **** good, did it stop working for you?

Because american doctors are not agreeing for surgery.

they prob stop shrinking till they cant shrink anymore, in July I had large normal size testicles, now they are the size of small hard grapes, I think when they get small and hard they are done

uptempo, how long ago did you get your surgery done and have all your problems been resolved since then? Is the bag of worms feeling gone?

k1212,
Do you have any weight reduction or weight increase problems, any sleep distrubances,
Even though testicles become they still work.
That what I thought when they became small, they wont work anymore. But I was wrong.
Do you still pubic hair and hair on testicles?how often you shave?

well I most definetly have weight increase, I havent stepped on the scale in 2 months, but I know I have increased weight, sleep, well I have sleep disturbances but I blame that more on the ache of the varicocle as well as other mental/pysical problems rather then the low testosterone

and my body hair is definetly getting less in all places on my body, and I dont shave to often but that is cuz I barely go out anymore, my facial hair is coming in all thin and sparse where before this I got a thick 5 o clock shadow every day after shaving

I got my surgery back in September 08. Most of my problems seem to have been resolved so far. My testicles didnt shrink..and my libido is like really high random boners and porn here and there, higher than I've ever seen. I did have some major aching problems a month or two ago..and once in awhile i still get them...i started taking fish oil and wheat grasss...seems to make my general health a lot better and perhaps sleeping a little earlier..but classes are killing me now.

I think a lot of people can also answer that number 3 question of "why do you not like U.S doctors" hahaha...for people whos been following this thread i am sure they know what I HAD to go through in the U.S...thank god for HONG KONG DOCS.

did your testicles shrink at all before the surgery

Now that there are more new people in this thread...i'd like to ask..

Question: Were most of the varicocele sufferers here very sexually active before they started seeing/feeling the symptoms of varicocele? I have a strong belief that increased sexual activity or masturbation COULD be the reason why people get varicocele..perhaps even reoccurence of varicocele...I don't see how makes much sense how people are born with it.

Yes, I was addicted to masturbation... Hadn't had any sex because I was 12 when I got the varicocele.

well I know I got my varicocele from a very long masturbation session while I was very stressed when doing it

Yes, I do agree with this. But we have to live with it. We born wwith so much sex in our mind and it never goes away. I always want to matsurbate whenever i get free time. That became my hobby.

I am 23 years old. I don't have pain with my varicosile but symptoms. American Doctors couldnt find the reason why I had low T, Depressed and all the symptoms. I went to so many. I WENT TO ABOUT 6 UROLOGIGTS... They knew that U had a varicosile and didnt connect it with low T. Did research went to a doctor told him I want the varicosile removed.... pain low sperm count etc... wouldnt remove it...

Arginine was great....For a while... You can take it 2 weeks on two weeks off...your body gets used to it.. On off days every once in a while do Patron Silver Tiquila. I promise.....It works....Arginine is still the ****...but you have to take it on and off...havent found anything better..just know.. some days you will have wonderful mind blowing sex.. some days it will be good. some days just ok.. you have to find which combition is for you. I know one thing though. I got the varicosile from to much sex... I had a latino girlfriend then and she was thick.. Better stay with skinny girls... around 80 to 115 pounds if your going to have alot of sex...135 pounds bouncing up and down my penis constantly puts more strain than 80 to 115 ...I am handling ed well and symptoms of low t...I am not horny but somehow have it on adverage now... 1.5 to 3 times a day and I have pretty bad ed.... Some positions will act as a vacuum effect to put more blood in your penis i found....Missionary slow and deep as far as you can go and flex your pc muscles... it does a vacuum effect to make it stay hard... Also girl on top but she lifts her knees off the ground and does squeezes her pc muscles alittle bit while she does it will also have a vacuuming effect pushing more blood in you... I can't do doggy style...the position will rarely work for me unless I am on Patron Silver.. Remember... For you fellON A SCARY SIDE NOTE:
as with ED...Squeeze your PC muscles often during sex because it keeps more blood in.. its something I had to incorporate to stay hard...

I don't think too much sex caused your Varicocele and masturbation as mentioned before, unless you guys caused damage to yourself.

ON A SCARY SIDE NOTE: Yesterday I was sitting kind of pretzel style on my chair playing some Counter-Strike (shooting game). Was playing only for about 20 minutes and switched positions. After I switched positions I noticed my left butt cheek and some of the back of my left leg was completely numb (like asleep) I thought thats odd for only 20 minutes right away.. I got up and my veins were tangled hard-core in my scrotom :/ :boggled:.. I kept playing with it trying to get it untangled for a minute or two, after nothing happened I decided I'd go lay on my bed :run: and maybe make the blood pool somewhere else in hopes of the veins untangling.. After about 3 minutes of laying down it started to feel better. I had this happen once before but it wasn't nearly as bad and only lasted about a minute, this time it was a total of about 10 minutes.. Was considering going to emergency if the circulation didn't correct itself >.< wouldn't want to lose a testicle.. My scrotom gets so cluster ****ed sometimes, it's bad :irked: .. Anyone else have this happen to them? I have a severe stage 3 V

Question: Were most of the varicocele sufferers here very sexually active before they started seeing/feeling the symptoms of varicocele?

Hi, I'll tell my story in a second but to answer this question, yes I used to be very sexually active, certainly having sex in a relationship upwards of 10 times a week was normal with masturbation on top of that.

I'm another one that can add weight to noticed dropping energy levels, lack of concentration, muscle building ability/mass reduction, sweating/hot flushes, lack of libido to the point where women might as well be items of furniture for all of the excitment they offer me.

I was marathon training and running a lot, enjoying the endorphine addiction of it and the feeling of fitness, overnight I noticed the problem appear and I just couldn't be bothered to train due to lack of motivation and getting tired quickly so went to the doctor for a variety of blood tests only to be told all was well.

Then I noticed the varicocele about 18 months ago and have been in for an embolisation which wasn't successful and am now waiting on my operation date for the full surgical procedure to hopefully sort this.

What I can't understand is how there are so many of us and yet the majority of doctors insist there is no correlation in results.

dj.

Sounds like I am in the same boat as you I was running a lot too loving the high looking terrible but carrying on. Noticed the varicocele had the embolisation no difference am looking at travelling to India or Thailand to get the varicocele surgery as this is a nightmare it is hard just getting up in the morning. I remember when I was younger 16-21 I used to wake up with erection feeling horny and everything just flowed cause it seems as long as I had a libido I could cope with anything! Now im nearly 26 no sex drive and no drive or motivation in general I just take one day at a time and cant even think about the future. This is so depressing and I felt so alone till finding this forum and speaking to like minded people.

A story I read about James Wentworth-Stanley (do a google search on James Wentworth-Stanley varicocele and click on the 2nd story from the DailyMail) really hit the fact home of how depressing this can be he commited suicide after his varicocele surgery cause he thought it was not a sucess but the mother blamed it on the anasthetic! I feel like contacting her and telling her to look at this forum and see how people are affected by this, some on this forum have even talked about suicide. I am not that bad although it does get me down badly I think about the future and getting this sorted once and for all and I feel better, and I remind myself that there are people much worse than me but I cant help how I feel and I know I am not right.

Sorry for the rant.

Brian

So you had the embolization and it didn't work? do you think it could have been sexual activity after the procedure to cause it to reoccur?

No I dont think so as I was so careful maybe too careful didnt lift anything heavy for maybe 8 or so weeks didnt have a gf at the time either. I have heard though that embolisation is a high approach and the higher the approach the higher the chance of reoccurence and I can agree with that and judging by other comments on here I am not the only one who have had a failed embolisation. The veins after the procedure did feel inflated but after a couple of weeks went just back to normal almost the only difference now is they seem to take slightly longer to fill up so maybe there are one or two veins that are still faulty rather than lots.

i see... check this out guys

"In most cases of varicocele that I have helped a few men with, it was due to excessive masturbation. The varicocele is a sign to masturbating males that they are masturbating too much and need to outright stop or give the act a break. The pain (inflammation) in the testicles is the sign the act (masturbation) needs to stop. Failure to adhere to the message the body is conveying could lead to low sperm count and lowered motility of sperm."

man i need to change my habits BIG TIME.

but then if you read on...i like how he says,
"The Western medical approach to addressing varicocele is by means of surgery, which I feel is highly unnecessary."

So if I follow the suggestions on the website link my valves in my veins will heal? I find this hard to believe and as regards stopping mastubating I can say in the last 6 weeks i must have mastubated twice my sex drive is shot to bits my left testicle has shrunk and veins are wrapped all around it, I find it hard to see how a warm bath with sea salt in will fix me.

Regards.
