Good idea. Did we want to do the supercontest with Pride 34 as well?

GSP - KO (7:35)
Diego - decision
Swick - KO
Grove - decision
Huerta - KO

Herring - decision
Thales - sub
Cummo - KO
Davis - KO

I see that Rich will fight Kampmann as the main event in the June 16th ppv in Ireland. Kind of a weak main event, but another fight is good for Franklin before he takes on A. Silva again. Kampmann-more technical vs. Rich's power. Wonder if Rich will work the clinch. I don't remember how good Kamp is in the clinch.

It's a damn shame they aren't planning to show Davis vs. Spratt. Could be a war. Davis has great standup. He dominated Shonie, who has been problematic for some good fighters. He dislocated his thumb in the 1st round, which is why he didn't go for the finish, and why he kept working the jab, but was hesitant with the cross and overhand.

I agree totally here :)

If anyone wants to see it, here are the weigh-ins. It is work checking out, even if you just skip to the Kos/Sanchez part.

I just can't wait to see the Koscheck sanchez fight. i think its going be to a war.

and st pierre KO's sera in the first. i think its going to be like the first team Offense playhing the sencond team defense.

thats all I'm saying though...I gatta go and feed these pesky kids...always naggin .."daddy I'm hungry.." "daddy I'm thirsty.." "daddy let me outta the closet..."

If GSP vs. Serra is quick, maybe we'll get to see Davis vs. Spratt. All of the prelims have the potential to be exciting, but the probability is not great.

Sanchez is an idiot and you can tell Koscheck is definitely in his head now.

I hope Kos works him over good.

Damn, Diego looks a little rattled. Whats up with that? Has Josh be talkin a bunch of smack?(I guess I missed it if he has, somebody give me a link)

I'm really looking forward to this fight as well... I'm not a big fan of either one but i think that Sanchez will be too much for Kos. Kos has pretty good hands but Sanchez' hands has been real surprising in his last few fights. On the ground it's going to be all Sanchez... Kos has good wrstling takedowns but like most wrestlers, doesn't really know how to finish. He needs to work on his subs... i think Sanchez is going to give him a lesson.

good thing you're not playing rogue...i still owe you for the last one!!

Yeah I agree and even though Kos is a good wrestler, he has a REALLY hard time finishing on the ground. I forgot who he fought when he lost in the last 30 seconds of the last round to a triangle choke but although he had the fight won, just from being on top the entire time, he never really landed anything great. Sanchez has iron fists and I believe since he has been in the ring with some GREAT judo fighters like Karo Parysian, he will be ready for the weaker takedowns that Kos will try to put on him.

I don't think Sanchez is rattled, I think he is PSYCHED lol. I think he might just kill him :D

Weaker takedowns? Lost by triangle choke? Uhh, you must be thinking of someone else. Koscheck, let me mention I do not like him at all, but he has the best takedowns out of anyone at 170. He has never lost to a triangle. He did get blasted by a knee once and woke up in a rear naked. Unless Diego KO's Kos early he will get taken down. Diego is great at scrambling and finding a way back to his feet, he is also great at taking someones back in a scramble where he seems to be at a disadvantage. I hope Diego wins, it should be a war.

Yeah, LMD, Kos's takedowns are actually phenomenal. Something you are confusing as well, is the method of takedown a wrestler like Kos would use and a throw that Judo technician like Karo would use; completely different dude.

Drew Fickett caught Kos with a head kick then scrambled to RNC in the last minute of their fight. Kos would have won by cuddling, otherwise.

There is no doubt that Kos has phenomenal takedowns. It seems like in all of his fights, I've never seen him get stuffed. Guys sprawl, but he just keeps driving, or changes his momentum and finishes them.

After what happened to Riggs, I don't see Kos risking the standup too much. After what happened to Riggs, I also see Diego throwing those knees with abandon, with disregard for the fact that Kos may have a knee already on the canvas. I bet he'd take the risk of a point deduction for the advantage (psych and physical) that he would get from this. Seems like Kos always goes for singles and doubles, so he will be open to knees from an ethically indifferent Diego.

I don't care who wins, but I'm looking forward to the fight of the night.

St. Pierre-KO 2:30 RD 1

Okami-Dec
Grove-Dec
Huerta-Sub

Herring-KO
Sell-Dec
Cummo-Sub
Spratt-KO

I expect kos to take diego down and im sure he does too, but what is josh going to do from there, he'll get subbed or it'll get stood up. Diego althought not well liked has an insane mind body connection with a will to be the best fighter, a positive competitive nature. Josh is a ego driven punk and those types will always lose bc they do not have true power just natural athletic ability. The only fight i hope i right about.

Yeah thats what it was a rear naked, my fault there. I think I did undercut a little bit saying weak take downs as I absolute can't stand Kos, but I stand firm in saying he can't finish. The fight where he lost to the rear naked, he was on top of the guy the entire fight, yet really never did much damage. He is a phenomenal wrestler but unless he has improved his technique in the guard position, he won't inflict much damage on Diego. Diego is solid on the ground, a very slippery type of guy who has a lot of reverses, etc.

Again I think anyone who can go with Karo P. on the ground and come out the victor is a pretty damn good grappler.

That sounds like a decent plan for Diego. Beo, everytime you post you seem to have a deeper perspective on MMA. Seems like your knowledge is increasing exponentially. (Are you worried for your Blanket? :stick: )

LMD, to be fair to Kos (who I don't like),he has finished 4 in his last 6 wins (3 in the 1st). I think he's good enough to finish okay fighters, but definitely not good enough to finish Diego. Joslin was like Houdini from the guard, avoiding everything. Impressive defense.

Rogue's a no show, pulling a Tito on us for this one after two wins. That makes you a paper champ in my book.;)

Is it me or is Beo starting to sound like Rogue Jr.?

I think you're right and the last thing we need is another Roguester around here.

I'm surprised how many people are picking Imes over Herring. Could Herring look that bad this time?

Notice how I worked that Beo like play on words into that?, it's Wulfen insight with stylistic flair that has you two skunks trying to to spray me, but I'm allegorically upwind of the stank that you two try to pass off as meaningful and witty.

This dumb jock's got reason and rhythm, what you got?

:duel:

You do have a way with words.

I dub Beo, Rogue Clone.

I wish I had some witty comment, or in-depth analysis, but I can honestly say I am completely disillusioned right now.

I was hoping GSP would be the champ for some time. He handles himself with such honor and class. He never talks smack. He even takes a loss with such class. He is a stand up guy who is very good for the sport. I think he will come back even stronger. What a shocker
