Just had an endocrinologist tell me that TRT will blow my chances for kids.

Not true. You can always go on hcg mono therapy and have kids. It might take a few extra months but it can be done

It's a possibility that if you decide down the line to have kids after being on TRT that you may become infertile. He was being responsible in telling you a very real possibility.
