TRT protocol suggestions

I am 43 years old. Been on TRT (Test Cyp) for about 4 years now. My blood work has always been good.

Regimen:
Test Cyp, 80mg, 2x a week IM
HCG (recently added 4 months ago)500iu 3x week, MWF (totalling 1500iu)

Recent results (trough day):
TT = 572 NG/dl
Estradiol, sensitive = 16 pg/ml
Pregnenlone = 45 (range 22-237)
DHEA-S = 177 ug/dl
DHT = 92 (range 12-65)

Energry levels & overall well being pretty decent, kinda low motivation (not lazy, but just takes a bit of a jolt to get me to do some things). Low libido (probably none actually).

I only started taking the HCG to see if I would get a boost in libido and well being. Is 4 months long enough for it to work? Should I drop the HCG and add in some DHEA & Pregnenelone?

If I've left out anything, feel free to ask.

If you felt better before HGC I would definitely drop or lower it, 1500iu’s is high, if you use it for fertility reason I would drop it to 250iu 2x week.

HCG can raise E and that could explain why low libido&energy.

Second option (with lowering or cancel HCG) is to raise your Test.

You can try Preg and DHEA but I’m not sure that would solve anything.

I honestly don't think I feel any different. I didn't really have libido prior to HCG.

When is the best time to check E2 after Test Cyp injection and especially HCG injection. I've checked my E2 the day after Test injection and it was around 34. I've never had any bloodwork showing E2 above the 30's.

Interesting, I still recommend lower the HCG and maybe add a little Test, being in the 500’s seems low, I would try to be closer to 1000.

Not to be rude, but you are 43 lol taking drugs can't ward off the inevitable slowing down 100%. Also look for non hormonal reasons for your low motivation. More/less drugs isn't always the answer.

What's your lifestyle like? Work life? Sleep? Stress? Diet? Etc.

Your DHEA and Pregnenolone are a little low - you may want to try adding in a low(ish) dose of dermacrine. This is really popular for guys on TRT!

I would get some dermacrine or our topical Neuro DHEA and Neuro P5 (pregnenolone).

Dermacrine, I would start with 2 pumps and only go up as needed - at that dose, a bottle should last a little over 2 months.

For the Neuro DHEA/P5 I would start at .5ml of each and adjust from there.

What do you think are good levels of DHEA and Pregnenolone to maintain while your on TRT / training hard?

Well, you're towards the lower end of the baseline for both. Having low DHEA and/or pregnenolone can impact energy, focus, mental clarity, etc...can also impact libido.

Your doctor should have you on DHEA/Pregnenolone if you're on TRT - our topicals are going to be some of the best options on these. I like dermacrine for ease, but the Neuro Drive Stack would be great for you if you wanted a little more flexibility in adjusting the ratios.

looking again, your estrogen may also be a little low, and the DHEA/Preg should also help with that

Yeah, that’s still on the lower side, I would increase the dose and see if that makes a difference, try double your dose for a few months.

How’s you diet?
Are you saying I should be around 1,000 on a trough day and peak should be Upper 1,000s?

I don't take it as rude at all hahaha. I think issue could be dhea/preg related simply bc they're so low. I may drop the HCG since various hormones are not increasing and also bc I'm not having anymore kids.

I don't ever get 8 hours of straight sleep. Probably in the bed 8 hours but it's interrupted.

Low level stress as in just cares of life but nothing that merits anti-depressants or makes me on edge daily.

Diet isn't good hahaha. Just eat whatever but I'm not overweight. I usually exercise 3-4 days a week but have lacked the mental motivation lately and maybe hit 1-2 days a week now.

I wouldn’t want my levels to drop under 900 ever, however you dose that is up to you.

What days are you injecting?

Also, clean consistent diet will be beneficial for mood&energy.

I’m 44 btw.

Lol this just sounds like a bit of a lifestyle bite... At least your getting more sleep than me HAHA

Stop relying on motivation though, rely on discipline. Go even though you don't want to, and clean that diet up. Can't help you with sleep though, I can't even help myself

Don’t chase numbers when on TRT. Get your protocol dialed in based on how you feel. There’s no need to have your test levels above range all the time. Once you get your protocol dialed in and you want to blast, then by all means do it.

Also, get your diet in check. That’s very important to the way you feel on TRT and in general.
