TRT clinics

TRT is very popular in here in CO mainly due to the active lifestyle. It is kind of funny how openly it's talked about. In fact, you are likely to have a conversation that includes TRT, weed, beer, ~insert any outdoor activity~, and live shows just about once a day. lol

TRT is a business! These anti-aging clinics make money by signing guys up for TRT. They make money off the consultations and the hormones and supplements they sell you. They don't care about your health; they care about making money and the more **** they can convince you to be on the more money they make! There are legitimate TRT doctors throughout the United States who operate the correct way and not the anti-aging clinic business model way. At the end of the day the decision rests with you, the "patient."

Ofcourse it's a business. That's why people spend 8 years going to medical school, it's to come out and make money. I've never seen a doc who owns their own practice offer their services for free lol. But I do agree, a lot of places don't care about health and just run a revolving door of script writing. Hence why you want to go with a reputable clinic, reputable doctor, reputable mechanic, reputable electrician etc.

Not all clinics are script mills, not all clinics care just about $$. But unfortunately a lot are. Gotta do research in anything you do.

Agreed! I'm on TRT and my doctor is awesome! My doctor actually cares about my health. Research is key! There are lots of really good clinics out there and plenty more shady ones. It's on us to do the research. The problem is so many guys are in such a rush to get on test and so they skip doing their due diligence.

Wish I could find a decent doctor. Everyone I've seen only wants to put me on it to get me "feeling well" then take me off because they don't want me on it for life, or just wanted to take me off period because my hematocrit gets a little high... even the one I saw that specializes in it supposedly. I know there's doctors out there that prescribe monthly phlebotomy. Where the hell are the good doctors in Atlanta???

Assuming you need TRT then those doctors shouldn't take you off. Hematocrit control is done by donating whole blood or double red routinely. Check out Excelmale dot com as they have a recommended doctor list. You could also call your local "compounding" pharmacy and ask which doctors in your area prescribe testosterone injections.

Yeah, I've been donating blood every 2 to 3 months but its just not quite frequent enough. I'll look at excel male too.

Actually, a "double red" donation (if you qualify) is way more effective in reducing hematocrit than whole blood donations. For whole blood it's every 56 days. Donate every 56.

I don't qualify for it.

I don't qualify as well. I'd keep donating every 56 days then. Good luck. One thing I learned so far on TRT is there is a lot to stay on top of.

Yeah, I just donated a few days ago, but I also started taking naringin in hopes to prevent hct from climbing again. Have you tried it? Any idea what dose is needed? To start I'm taking 500mg twice a day.

Any doctor who puts a patient on hormones to get the patient "feeling good" and then takes the patient off said hormones once that "I feel good" stage has been achieved is a complete moron and should not be in practice. Where is the logic in this? So, you're put on test so that you feel good (and you feel good because you're on test) and then you're taken off that which makes you feel good (so that you can feel like **** again).

I agree. Idiots. Fired that guy. But I'm running out of options because my insurance is about to stop covering Androgel and I can't find a doctor to prescribe the shots. lol wtf.

I've heard from others how difficult it can be finding a qualified doctor in certain states. I feel your pain bro! Luckily, where I live (California) the TRT business is booming!

You'd think with how big Atlanta has grown, it would've caught on here too.

I would venture to say there are some decent options in a metropolis like Atlanta. I would take the other member's advice and check out excelmale dot com and see what turns up there.

Yeah, I poked around a little. Probably requires a good amount of time spent though. Argh.

From someone who is on TRT, yes, the process requires a great deal of your time IF you want to find a qualified doctor in this field with whom to work. I cannot stress how important it is to do your due diligence by first researching and learning everything you can about testosterone because TRT is a life-long venture. Meaning, the intent is to stay on exogenous bio-identical hormones indefinitely. And once you connect with a decent doctor, it takes a good 6-8 months to really get dialed in. This is definitely not an overnight process.

I used to go through a clinic as I was too young for traditional docs to treat me. Lost my job so I went cold turkey and had other health issues unrelated. About four years later I go back to the same clinic and suddenly they want me to take 1mg/day of adex, 1000mcg hcg/week and the basic 200mg/cyp week(which I am ok with) but the first two is nuts. I was only on test before and paid about 12.50 a week or 125 for the 10ml bottle. Now they wanted upwards of 400 a month for a bunch of crap I don't need. NO ONE needs 1mg adex/day for 200mg/week test.

I am finally working with an endo in my area and it is slow going. Had to get tons of labs(which is ok of course) then I needed an MRI of my pituitary. Now I need a GTT since my IGF-1 came back High. He also only put me on 200mg once every three weeks ugh. I took the same amount but spread it out more frequently. Also my insurance wanted my to go to the pharmacy once a month for a 1ml bottle. I explained I am scripted 1ml/E3W but they did not understand this. I ended up paying out of pocket for the test.

Long story short if a clinic existed where I could get a reasonably priced bottle of cyp and not 100's of dollars of ancillaries I don't need I would.

To anyone buying your pins at the pharmacy do your self a favor and get them online SOOOO much cheaper.

I know my age and size is what every doctor I've seen so far has a problem with. It's so frustrating because I have no intent on messing with real gear.

1mg/day of Adex?!?! Jesus I don't know what's worse, the dose of Adex or paying $400/mo. That's 10 weeks of therapy for most of our clients lol

I'm on 200mg of cypionate per week and I don't take an AI at all! I don't need one and I would venture to say that most guys would not need an AI on this dose, but those who do need to run one then yeah, 1mg everyday is asinine for someone on only 200mg of cypionate per week. Again, these anti-aging clinics are in business to make $$$ - they could care less about what's best for you. The more stuff they put you on, the more $ they make. Most of them are in bed with compound pharmacies so they make $ off everything that is prescribed because they force you, the patient, to order all your stuff through the clinic instead of the doc just giving you, the patient, a prescription and the freedom for you to pick whatever pharmacy you so choose. I have zero respect for anti-aging clinics and the unqualified doctors who run them.

The funny thing was when I asked about other anti-e options the following were all priced the exact same: letro, nolva, adex, aromasin. I know for a fact that those are all different prices in the real world so basically you are paying out the nose. I too only need mild e control on TRT so really did not want. Also have no need for HCG as the boys have maintained a decent size.

Fun fact on my last pre TRT labs my total test was: 13 yes thirteen ugh it has been a rough road lol.

Try using DIM, instead of the usual ai, dim is supposed to work well and lowers a ton of estrogen even hard to lower estrogen

A few clinics ive seen and have been a part of,usually get me the vials for about $90 per vial, which isnt too bad!

I am now with one that just started doing ur blood work thru ur incurance which is a step in the right direction as well!

DIM doesn't lower estrogen, it addresses the way it is metabolized.

Sorry man, I wasn't trying to come across as snide. It's just an important distinction to be aware of.

I have a question that I'm curious about.

Presuming you have a script for say X amount of test.

Is there any reason you can't just buy it from a pharma in (insert international country of choice) for CHEAP?

There are gents on this board who buy SERMS etc for like $15 from overseas pharma.

It's legal as long as you have the amt you were prescribed right?

This is a tricky area - drugs, for which you have a prescription, may be shipped internationally, as long as the drugs being shipped are not controlled substances. Testosterone is a controlled substance in the United States. Also, keep in mind that testosterone is not all that expensive here in the United States, especially if you have your prescription filled at a compound pharmacy. I pay no more than $75 for a 10ml vial of cypionate, which I dose at 100mg twice per week.

$75??? Even thats too much!

Download the
Goodrx coupon and go to walgreens and get a full vial of watson for $44!!!!

I just started working at a TRT and anti-aging clinic. I'm curious why a lot of men choose the route of going to their GP for
things like Andro gel and testim as opposed to seeing specialist who will do injections? Aside from insurance not covering it ofcourse. Also what's everyone opinions on these places?

Which clinic do you work at if you don't mind me asking?

I go to a non insurance accepting clinic because that is the only way I can self administer. I would prefer to pay less using insurance.

A friend of mine is getting a Bio Identical pellet on Monday and a new one every 12 weeks. He is 53 and his GP said his level came back at 450 and wont prescribe any Test to him. He is having this done at a TANNING SALON that now has a so called specialist and a P.A., complete insanity !!!!

Does the tanning come with the pellets? If so, that is a great deal.

For me, $75 is cheap! One vial lasts me 10 weeks, which renders my monthly cost less than $75. To me that is dirt cheap!

People only balk at paying that when as i stated before it can be had for no more than $45....

Kisaj was only trying to make the point that test boosters can give you no where near the results of real test and people will pay twice as much for them.

My insurance wouldn't cover androgeL to begin with. Talk to a pharmacist. My pharmacist mixes my gel for me. Same thing as androgeL. $50 a month out of pocket. No insurance. Works.
