TRT clinics

I just started working at a TRT and anti-aging clinic. I'm curious why a lot of men choose the route of going to their GP for things like Andro gel and testim as opposed to seeing specialist who will do injections? Aside from insurance not covering it ofcourse. Also what's everyone opinions on these places?

I believe it's cheaper with your pcp through your medical insurance

True, but many PCP's typically will only prescribe Andro gel. Which I doubt would get levels higher than maybe 400-500. Obviously if one HAS to go through insurance that's the best option, or searching for a PCP that Is educated enough to do injections.

I think slowly, more and more pcp's are changing.

I go to an endo because my pcp is all but useless. My insurance won't cover anything until I can prove that I've been low t for 12 months, so I pay for entering out of pocket. My endo won't do the injections though. She showed my how to do it and I just inject myself.

My opinion is some are decent and most are ****. It's a challenge to find a TRT/HRT specialist who actually cares about your health. Anti-aging clinics, on the whole, are testosterone prescription mills. Men go in just to get a prescription for testosterone and the doctors oblige by writing them a prescription for 100-200mg of cypionate per week.

She's atleast willing to prescribe injectable test though correct? Also if you don't mind me asking what doses?

Yeah. She prescribes injectable. Right now, I'm at 75mg per week. I started in April and she's taking for-fn-ever to get to a therapeutic dose.

Very true, I have heard of places that the doc see the patient for a few minutes. Runs blood work and just throws them on test and says come back in a year for more bloodwork. No follow up bloodwork to check on levels after initial dosing or anything.

High 200's to low 300's. We're making our way to between 500 and 800.

Sounds like your on your way man. Thanks for the replies. I was just curious, as a whole it seems relatively difficult to find a GP, urologist or endo who knows more new age protocols for TRT. Good luck on your journey my man.

Well, I'm hearing injections should be every 3 1/2 days. She originally had me at every other week, I had to push to get enough needles to inject weekly. She has been willing to compromise though, so I think we're going to get there.

Good luck to you too, brotha.

Ideally injections every 3.5 days is optimal, but most people don't want to pin that often. Every 2 weeks must have been a killer, highs and lows lol.

A friend of mine is getting a Bio Identical pellet on Monday and a new one every 12 weeks. He is 53 and his GP said his level came back at 450 and wont prescribe any Test to him. He is having this done at a TANNING SALON that now has a so called specialist and a P.A., complete insanity !!!!

Like none other. I literally felt like I was flying high for a week and then wanted to walk into traffic for a week. It sucked.

I've heard those pellets do nothing

Sounds to me like she hasn't a clue as to what she is doing as a professional if you, her patient, has to instruct her as to her approach in balancing your hormones.

That's pretty sketchy

So for someone who is educated in self prescribing TRT, all they are looking for is for a doc to write the script what's wrong with going to a clinic?

To be honest, that's pretty much what's going on here. I know what my goals are and am learning what I need to do, as I go, to get there.

There's no anti-aging clinics around here, so these endo's are just used to addressing the needs of the elderly.

I'm confused. Who are you referring to who is educated in TRT? Based on what you have shared with us about this female doc you are currently seeing, it's clear she is not at all well-versed in TRT/HRT and balancing hormones.

I'm not seeing the female endo, DotW is.

Glad u got a job doing this!

I am tired of spending 400-600 e3months or even e6months when i go to a urologist and can get everything i need for next to nothing!

I spent years and years with a clinic, and it cost me soooo much money because thats in the end what they are after, they cant write u a script for a therapeutic phlem, and my doctor can and will when neccessary, if they brought prices down and did that one gesture id go back as they allowed me to pin 200 per week which left me feeling like a man again, now at 100 mlg per week, i still dont feel that great, even at a total test of 700-850....

They are held back a bit on what they will do, even if they can do certain things money is always associated with it.... With insurance i dont pay for a phlem, and my meds are all worth the cost!

Thanks man! I'm excited for it. I've heard so many horror stories from other clinics I was apprehensive but drilled them on protocol and how they monitor patients health and they are about health but also safely getting results.

Not on the East coast, by chance Canes325 ?

Watch out for the "clinics"! Had one "introductory" exam. For 10 weeks test c, Anastrozole and B12 the cost was over $900! They didn't want to wait for bloodwork results before selling me the test c! I ran from these guys!!

That's insane. For many reasons. The first the cost, second prescribing meds without bloodwork is crazy. Run brother run fast lol

Let me guess; this place was in Florida - the "anti-aging clinic Mecca" haha. Yeah, that I would run from too!

They must have lax laws down there. Lots of compounding pharmacies there too, which go hand in hand with anti-aging clinics.

I'm in Florida. The laws are as lax as they get here. Anti aging clinics everywhere. I get emails from one of the clinics here offering all types of stacks offering NPP, Winstrol depot, Anavar, test, HGH, sermorelin etc

Contemplates move to FL......

I do believe most if not all clinics have the state of florida and Michigan both incorperated into their business plans as one i go thru is based in florida but they issue all products from Michigan....

Another i went thru was the opposite, ud order from their place in michigan and receive from a place in florida

Doesn't Florida have the highest population of senior citizens in the country? ? It's a very popular retirement spot.

Plenty of young guys on TRT here. I've talked to a 23 yr old at my gym on TRT. I called up the clinic once to talk to them. I was like "well I'm only 25 yrs old" he was like " not a problem come in come in do t worry we will take care of you" he sounded young btw. I then said "I'm not sure if I'm ready to take that step" he was like "come back when you're ready." I felt like he was signing me up for TRT on the phone if that makes sense. We both knew what my intentions were. It was quite obvious by the way we were speaking with each other.

My friend is 20 and just start TRT a little over 2 months ago
