TRT advice needed

So i had some blood labs done the other day. 1st thing in the morning my total test levels was 266.5. Then again at 130pm my total test level was 206.

Not looking for medical diagnosis here, just some advice and suggestions from my bros here on AM. Do you think that when i go back into my endo, they will most likely put me on TRT?

It’s possible the dr will put you on TRT, BUT there’s more to look at before the TRT route. Here’s some of the things he will look at:

Your age
Are you obese
Sleep problems such as sleep apnea
History with AAS and or prohormones
Thyroid
Pituitary issues
Injuries to your head or testicles

You really need to find a dr that will find the underlying cause of your low T before getting on TRT. I’ve been on TRT for 4 years and wouldn’t give it up for anything, but I wish I had taken some steps in the beginning to finding the root cause of my low T before I started. Look for an integrative medicine dr if your endo isn’t helpful.

If I ever go TRT personally, I'd ether self administer to find what my own sweet spot or a trt clinic honestly. A lot of people get put on too low of a dose or don't get put on when they should. The post above has better info but just my .02

I just got my blood work back 372. My doctors first works were it's low but not enough to go on trt. I have never taking anything that would suppress or shut down but over weight for a long time and sleep apnea. Not sure how this will turn out in the end but definitely need something to change.

Make sure you are getting the right bloodwork to help diagnose hypogonadism. Add SHBG to this handy chart

So your Doc recognized you have low T. What was his recommendation for treatment?

I have heard doctor’s say “fine” countless times What testing parameters was “fine”based on. One can have perfect thyroid levels in the blood, but be totally cellular low thyroid at the tissue. The crap they are teaching in med school about thyroid on how to identify if and treat it is a crime in itself. I had to deprogrammed my wife from the nonsense.

How do you know what your thyroid levels are at a cellular level at the tissue? Still via the same blood test or what?

By looking at the history along with other cellular testing testing parameters such nutritonal deficiency cortisol metabolism, environmental loads, immune system dysfunction and symptoms related to thyroid like temperature, ankle reflexes, etc.

Thanks... I ask bc I have a family history of thyroid problems and have always been told my blood tests have come back “fine”. I was wondering what I should further ask of them.

Traditional medicine doctors and few functional medicine practitioners unfortunately are not taught this. When you start talking nuclear receptors, gene expression, enviromental exposures they will think you are nuts. The sad part of all this is already been medical validated in scientific journals often get ignored. This is why working with doctors if you do not have support clinical studies or biochemical background they will not take you seriously. One time a doctor was trying calling BS, “there is no way you are associated with these people” I had the author of the published study call him directly speak on my behalf how my reseach has been helping his own. Remember it’s not what you know, but who..

So i was prescribed a trt protocol of 200mg / wk of test cyp and 25 units hcg / wk. I will be starting in a week. I think i will do a log of the transition

Very few if any endocrinologists will prescribe 200 mgs per week alone hcg. Running at high levels of testosterone will cause a shift in natural homeostasis in regards to thyroid as well as adrenals over time. It may not be felt right away, but often times it will catch up with you later. Seen it happens numerous of times. Often I suggest doctor to run 50-70 mgs of test per week while exploring the root cause of why testosterone is needed and what other imbalances in biochemical and genetic pathways need to be addressed.

That’s the high end of normal TRT dosage, so you know. Was there any AI prescribed?

man, starting at 200 is insane to me. the 25 units (0.25 on a 1ml insulin syringe) per *week* seems odd as well. saya and crisler do 0.10 per day (if compliance isn't a problem). and yes, anastrozole prescribed? the first week or two, you will still be producing *some* naturally, it doesn't just slam stop on 1st injection. please post your levels, i gotta see. good luck!
