Hey whats up guys, ive been on a pretty focused workout on my traps for the past 3 weeks and there has been much improvement but for the past 3 days instead resting like id normally do i had some pretty long work hours. As im working today my left trap muscle got a quick knife piercing pain and about 5 minutes later i felt soreness in that area as i do now. I looked around online and the only thing im getting is that its a strain. Would this cause permanent damage to my muscle or

Dont worry about it. I pulled a muscle in my middle back just walking down the stairs the other morning after i woke up. Been sore for a few days but getting better. Just one of those freak things that happens sometimes bro.

Ive always been partial to a tennis ball for trapezius.

True, I do both. I swear doing that stuff is addictive

yeah the soreness has went down a lot compared to earlier. as soon as i got home from work i hopped in the shower. now im eating a ton just incase its bc i haven't been feeding my muscles enough from my workouts. i always use the rumble roller at my gym before i begin any workout just bc it feels so damn good LOLL. Thanks again guys, no work tomorrow so hopefully i'll be well rested to get back in the gym tomorrow. my favorite day, back.

What's your trap work consist of?

well i don't do any isolation work for my traps so most of the work is put on my back days. My current cycle on back is to work on thickness which consists of my middle back and traps. Deadlifts, DB rows, wide grip cable rows, lat pull downs, and face rope pulls. i go HEAVY on all those workouts except for the face pulls, face pulls i use more to contract the crap out of my upper back. some might say this is overkill but this has been working for me very well.

That's what I was hoping to see. Probably just a case overuse from the volume you implemented the last 3 weeks. A little rice therapy and smr should have you back to normal in no time.
