Training system

Has anyone tried the 'power bodybuilding' training system of mike o'hearn ?

The training goes as follows

Invalid Link Removed

Example say bench press would be 10 sets of 5 reps (max weight)

DB press 6 sets of 5 reps

And rest in between is negligible as he says he likes to recuperate before performing the next set.

What do you think of this training system ?

Abs are like any other muscle and 5 days a week is way too much to hit them. So for chest you only do bench at 10 sets of 5 reps?

I think it is, Bench 10x5 + there must be some warm up sets if you are to use a max weight for all 10x5 and then DB Press 6x5. Seems to be more of a volume training / foundation type program.

No no I don't do that..it was just an example to show how much reps and sets he'd do for a particular exercise
He did warm up with 3 sets of 10
Kinda confusing :s

Do you have a link to more than that pic? We might be able to help ya out a bit more if we could see the entire workout.

Looks like it's just following a 70, 80, 90 scheme. Weeks 1-4 working at 5 reps, 5-9 4 reps etc.. It doesn't look too bad as a strength building routine but he does have assistance exercises for each day, but picking one main lift for each day. You can scrap the abs each day as well.

Yeah i thought about cardio 5 times a week and ABS 3 times a week
Seems legit.?

Really, what makes it any different than what 75% of the guys in the gym are doing already. I mean, he even places chest on national bench press day.

Should be good with abs twice a week. Mix up your cardio with Hiit and LIIS. What are your goals/stats?

Lol, love national bench press day. Today was national back day at my gym

Might wanna check your profile, lol it says you're 44. That workout is more catered to a strength building style but you should notice muscle growth as well, diet will be important and make sure to push yourself in the gym.

It's not national bench press day, but international bench press day lol. In every country around the globe you'll see monday as the bench day
