Hi, I know this is a bodybuilding forum but I need some advice on traing for a cycling event. I have an upcoming 50 mile ride. I am just starting out so need help. Last weekend I rode 25 miles. Do you think its possible in a month to add the 50 ? I lift 3 x weekly and ride as much as possible in the evening. Im also on hrt . Can someone recomend training, supplement ,and diet advice ? Its just a charity event so no worries over drug tests. Endurance athletes anywhere here ?

Sounds like a Crossfit type of training question. I do Strongman so I only do 60 second bursts. Haha. I would check for that.

No offense meant here, but a 60mi ride is nothing to worry about.
Unless you are racing it, I wouldn't advise training for it (hell, I use 100k rides as recovery after a hard run).
The only training you need is time on the bike-learn to get comfortable on it and you are golden.

Oh well thats great then. I guess it sounds scary lol. Ive never done anything like it before. I will get used to the bike and just ride on! I do have problems on the big hills but Ill get it. Going out to ride with friend later just for fun. Thank you for the encoragement.

No problem-seriously the biggest thing you need is 'seat time'.
The pedaling is easy-riding for 4+ hours takes some getting used to
