You do need the Tor browser bundle to get there. Google "Tor Browser Bundle" - takes less than 2 minutes and opens up a lot of doors.

That's the Tor browser bundles. And remember hidden onion services go up and down all the time so just keep trying if it didn't work for you.

One thing to think about is improper use can actually leave you less secure. I have seen some good guides that will help increase security. Just Google em.
