Topical pain relief stack

I bought a topical tetrahydracurcumin product a bit ago and it seemed to help, though it was hard to feel a big difference, but that could be just because I didn't use it for too long. I have ankylosing spondylitis, an inflammatory join condition that affects the spine and im wondering if any of you have a similar joint condition and have used any topical products for pain relief.

I have been looking into a number of them, Apex alchemy has a lot like Phytocaine, Pterogen, Relax and they seem to be what I'm looking for. Can anyone vouch for them or tell me your experience with them for joint pain? Also are these products for local inflammation or systemic? Thank you in advance. I also know there's other topical products like b-aet that help with inflammation and immune problems.

I've got psoriatic arthritis and TD curcumin has been a staple since I discovered it. Pretty sure all of them from the various companies are systemic carriers, but most people will notice some local benefits, like I do putting it right on problem areas. 100mg/day is usually enough for general use, I'll bump it up to 200mg if I have any flare ups. Supress-C is also a staple lol

What benefits do you notice from supress c?

My main use of it is basically as a sleep aid haha. Not that it does anything to help fall asleep, but I get much better sleep when on it. General mood boost is also noticeable. And I've said it anecdotally, but the past couple winters when I've used it, I haven't gotten colds or anything as much as I normally would in the past.

No personal experience with this specific issue, but anytime workload is high and/or joints have felt overworked and need extra help I like the combination of PEA and/or oral Curcumin (Theracurmin) with topical Curcumin (XPG Curcuprime) twice daily with one application preferably to bothersome areas.

Spondylitis or spondylosis or whatever its called is basically arthritis in your neck and spine, aging or injuries make your spine wear out for a lack of a better explanation. Basically anything someone would use for arthritis and you should be working on mobility stuff. Avoid heavy loads on your spine. That's really all you can do. You can't fix it, but you can keep it in check and prevent further wear n tear

Yeah, I have to highly modify my training to not aggrevate it. I can't do split squats, hip hinging, can only box squat and front squat not regular back squat.

Another vote for XPG curcuprime by me, noticeable inflammation reduction within 30 mins
I have xpg curcuprime gel, I used it for a week but didn't notice too much benefit, I did 2 pumps after showering applied to my low back where my inflammation is and rubbed in by my wrist, then letting it dry for 5 minutes before putting clothes on. Idk why I stopped taking it, I should probably start again. Is there something I'm missing? Should I use a higher dose? Apply it in a different spot?

And not a TD... but something like CEL Joint Edge might be worth looking into. IIRC a lot of the studies done with ingredients like TamaFlex and NEM were with people who have arthritis.

Considering you have AS, I'd give it a bit more than a week. I personally notice benefits within the first few days of using it, but my arthritis problems are more in ankles/knees, could also just not be as 'severe' as yours where you might need to give it a bit more time to build up in your system. If you wanted to try and switch application spots to somewhere with thinner skin like the tops of your feet you can also give that a try.

It depends how severe you are hurt. Curcuprime worked very well for me in terms of inflammation. If its actually joint pain then you'll be better with Joint Support XT.

Me for instance, I use Joint Support XT daily. Today in fact, I seem to have hurt my shoulder in the gym and its hurting this evening, definitely inflamed; so I will apply Curcuprime to the shoulder for the next couple of days and it should be back to normal. I will just do 1 pump a day 2 to 4 times a day depending on if the pain still remains

Same here! Ecspecially during the winter months my joints seem to be more achy and joint support xt helps!

You are going to need a lot more than a week to expect results. Your condition isn’t likely to be completely pacified with some inflammatory support. There will be ups and downs and likely need to manage expectations.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t expect benefits in a short time frame or to just keep using something even if you don’t think you are benefiting.

Just think it’s important to point out that (and not saying you don’t already know this) there will be so many things that will influence your experience with AS. Things that work on lowering overall symptoms should just help keep you from having to take anti inflammatory things that may have more downsides, localized applications may help with flare ups or hopefully a slightly more "targeted" attack, and continuing proper exercise selection and volume/intensity/etc. will be all part of a well rounded plan.

TLDR: give it more time, but also be realistic that it will help yet likely not drastically eliminate symptoms.

To be fair, when I really messed up my shoulder, it took about 3 months of Cissus XT + Joint Support XT & finally MK677 for the last 2 weeks to fix me. As resolve says, if your injury is serious, it’s going to take a while to fix

That's a great duo for joint support and healing those nagging aches + pains.

I don’t mean to be too pedantic, but AS isn’t really an injury and really can’t be “fixed” and that mindset probably isn’t always the best to get in.

Can definitely be managed though for many and long term interventions probably are best in this case anyways.
