I remember a time like that:
When my job was going strong, I was getting 10-15hrs OT each check and the bills were low.
Unfortunately, job sucks (but picking up) and bills have piled up from over a year of shortages and other things and the happy days of being able to order supps willy nilly are gone. :(

I'm working 28 hours OT this pay period, we have a decent life and jobs, our biggest down fall is our $hitty house in a $hitty neighborhood
 
You guys are making me realize how much life is about to suck lol me and my girl were staying with my parents up (cuz we were both in school full time) until now , supp money is about to be dry as hell lol

lifted67, Alpha1agreda and lukehayd, in the fear of being ridiculed by my AM peers, let me make the attempt to make you feel better about your living situation. I know it made me open my eyes a bit. I know I live and work in Rural NC, but I ran a call the other day when working EMS, and the patients 30 something year old son told me that when I left, just pull around the yard. Simple enough. Well the grass was wet and when I asked him where the septic tank was because ambulances are heavy in a small footprint, he proceeded to tell me there was no septic tank, because they had an outhouse. He was serious, and it made me realize how much I actually have, not what I dont have. Just sayin

Believe me when I say that every night, I get down on my knees and thank the good Lord for all He has blessed me with. I know that there are way too many that would love to have the life I have. I grew up in poverty having popcorn that we made over the wood stove (yes, our only heat in the house) for supper because that was all we had, so I am always thankful to be where I am now.

Holy crap bro!! I am so glad I didnt read that while pushing this leg press, i wouldve died!! But seriously, I am anti spaghetti. Used to live in Germany and we went to italy every orher weekend. I was a kid so guess what I ate? No more.

Oh yeah, well, we were so poor that my mom took up doing laundry for others and would have us kids wear their clothes before she returned them so we didn't have to buy new clothes. (not true lol!)

I had Voits instead of Nikes like everyone else on basketball team and all the other kids on the team never let me hear the goddamn end of it...15+ years later my kid always goes to school in the expensive brands (even if I get them at rock bottom prices online)

Same here bro! My dad just didn't believe in name brands. But 1 thing is fo so! I got tired of hearing it and I learned how to throw the damn knuckles!!!
 
The bullying (I was such a nice guy I had to be a "***ot" and I wore white undershirts and blue jeans to school so I was a "pretty boy") got so bad in 11th grade I began boxing training with the town's chief of police-who also happened to be a former Olympic hopeful-the teasing ended really g0ddamn quick.

k-mart 'buddies' instead of chuck taylor 'cons' here.....this kinda crap has been happening since the beginning of man....it isn't where you start, it is where you finish that matters..... I take that back, some people can be considered successful but not lead a good life---it is how you life your life that is truly important, not how much material wealth you accumulate!!!

Too funny! I had some training from Andrew Maynard, gold medalist from 88. He lived in my "hood"

true, but many who come from humble beginnings overcompensate with their children and turn them into the bully'ers. overindulgence has the possibility of being WORSE than having less. lessons in humility should go hand in hand with indulgence, imo.

when you grow up without a lot it makes you appreciate things more....I see so many spoiled brats today that don't appreciate anything, it makes me sad to see so many unappreciative children[and adults]!!! too many spoiled brat children grow up to be spoiled brat adults, that is why they don't leave home until they are in their 30's, if even then, serves their parents right, lol.

I've met a bunch of welfare trash that didn't appreciate anything they had. Didn't know how to take care of anything to make it last. (No, I'm not saying everyone on welfare is trash but these people were very trashy) I don't think it's the not having much that makes you appreciate things, I think it's the way your parents raise you.

Thanks, because I still have not received a tracking/shipment notification Email (nor has anything showed up in my mail box). Although it has been storming here lately, and the mailbox is down the street, so I am only collecting mail every couple of days, unless I know something is waiting for me. All of our bills are eBills, so all that usually awaits are letters from the HOA and other junk mail. :D
