Title says it all-

5. Manhoef/Cyborg (Cage Rage)-a total war between two aggressive fighters
4. Huerta/Guida (UFC)-this is a career defining fight that showed the mettle and skill of both fighters
3. Shogun/Rogerio Noguiera (Pride)-fight of the year in '05...enough said
2. Edgar/Griffin (UFC)-most entertaining fight that I have seen in a long time.
1. Wand/Rampage II (Pride)-so much bad blood that collided in '04. Back and forth war with a classic KO.

Huerta-Guida
Diaz-Gomi
Wand-Chuck - important and lived up to hype
Alvarez-Hansen - recency effect
Crocop-Fedor - HUGE fight

Silva/Rampage 2
Kharitonov/Noguiera-wish it would've gone another round or 3
Fedor/Nog 1-passing of the guard in dominant fashion, who knew you could just rip your way out of Nog's subs
Tito/Frank
Shogun/Arona-I don't like Arona, and I love hammerfists

1) Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Royce Gracie, PRIDE Grand Prix 2000 Finals: 90 minutes, legendary fight.

2) Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Carlos Newton, PRIDE 3: Incredible grappling action.

3) Carlos Newton vs. Pele (Jose Landi-Jons), PRIDE 19: Muay Thai vs. Dragon Ball Jiu Jitsu! Pele disrespects Newton by refusing to shake hands. Can the always-classy Ronin make him pay?

4) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Mirco Cro Cop, PRIDE Final Conflict 2003: The classic example of Minotauro absorbing frightening amounts of punishment while working to sink in the submission.

5) Mark Coleman vs. Maurice Smith, UFC14: The all time classic wrestler vs. striker battle, from the era when every fighter had a truly distinct style.

The list is pretty PRIDE heavy, and mostly older fights, but I'm pretty happy with it.

That's a cool list, Idrog, although Saku/Royce was pretty boring IMO.

I imagine your face looks like Stallone's nemesis in Over the Top, lol.

1,3,4 are the ones I was going to put. Amazing fights right there!

Forrest/Bonnar TUF fight. Besides being a slugfest, it showed amazing heart from both fighters. Also IMHO propelled the UFC and MMA to be so popular among the non hardcore.

Almost exactly, except I'm less handsome.

Tito vs. Frank and Silva vs. Rampage II, which both were on your list, would be pretty good candidates for my top 10. Tito vs. Frank is probably my #6, in fact.

Rampage vs. Arona, Hansen vs. Uno, and Frank vs. Kiyoshi Tamura might round out my top 10...

But then again you've got Hansen vs. Mach, Hansen vs. Yves, Diaz vs. Gomi, Diaz vs. Parisyan... Cyborg vs. Manhoef was some crazy Rocky movie stuff... and I'd want some Don Fry on there (vs. Takayama or Bitteti) ...there are just so many great fights!

I thought that the second Saku vs. Royce fight was a huge let-down. The first one kept me hooked for the whole 90, though!

I'm looking forward to seeing more lists.

Rampage/Arona was probably the most exciting 3 seconds in MMA history. Rampage slamming Igor around was fun too, Jas won't like that. Hughes/Trigg 2 was another good one, come from behind with the walk across the ring slam. Anderson/Franklin(either one) was a great display of devestation. Rizzo/Couture, both were good. Couture/Liddell 1 was an awesome fight. Fedor/Fujita was great, the recovery by Fedor and then the brutal finish, he looked like he was pissed when he had the choke on Fujita. Fujita/Wand was great, the Axe Murderer at his finest.

Oooo, Over the Top reference excellent. Sometimes I have to turn my cap around before some heavy lifting sh1t to turn the switch. :fool2:

Nice list, idrog. I like the old school fights in there.

How about these?

Royce-Shamrock II
Lytle-Serra
Carl Malenko-anyone
Shamrock-Severn II
Kimbo-Cantrell

Or every "fight" from YAMMA Pit Fighting's first show except the Taktarov one?

I'd say that I have seen more great fights than truly terrible ones... but stuff like Shammy vs. Royce II and vs. Severn II can REALLY be tough to sit through. I'd probably add the Kos vs. Diego stall-fest to that list, too.

Lawler/Riley was a good one. Cant forget Griffin/Bonnar 1. Olaf/Polakowski 1 was also badass. Yes I know its Olaf but that fight is sick.

Is that the fight where he took the fight on like 12 hrs notice?

Worst fight of all-time: Kimo/Severn from PRIDE 1.

Pretty much any combo of Diego, Diaz and Karo makes for a great might. In more disturbing news, I read that Diego's banging old ring girl Ali.

Yeah it's hilarious that Yamma's "innovative" ideas to make the fights more exciting completely tanked.

Belfort-Matsui was horrid too. Belfort was destroying him when they engaged, but then decided to literally circle MAtsui with no action for 5 minutes.

Gomi v. Diaz
Bonner v. Griffin < I hate to say it>
Guida v. Huerta
Fedor v. Nog <passing of the torch>

Cant think of any other
