Too high of am Arimedex dosage from trt doc?

Hey guys. So I stated trt about 4 months ago. Dr. raised me to 200 mg weekly test injections about a month ago. I had bloodwork last week 6 days after my prior trt shot. My total testosterone came to a 879 which they said is great so they are going to keep my test dosage the same, however my Estradiol Sensitive test came back too high at 52. (I have heard doctors shoot for the 20-30 range). The doctor is going to start me on Arimidex, but I am worried he may be dosing it too high and might crash my e levels. He told me to take 1 mg pills 3 times a week, then they will retest my Estradiol in one month. Is this too high? I emailed the nurse telling her I was concerned about not crashing my e levels since that can be as bad as having high e and asked if I could just take half a pill 3 tines a week, but she said to take a full pill. Perhaps they just want to get my levels down real fast, retest in a month, then lower the dose? I would have thought doctors would do the opposite approach and start off with a low dosage Arimidex so as not too risk crashing e levels. How long does it take Arimidex to take effect anyhow?
 
I am not a doctor, but in my opinion that is WAY to much! Anastrozole is a powerful A.I. and should be used with caution. Again I am no professional but I do have some experience and I would suggest taking 0.25 mg 2-3 times a week. 3mg/week is a boat load of anastrozole! It's good to follow your doctor's orders but remember we need to be our own best advocate.

Yeah dude thats super high. I take .5 twice a week on a blast. I dont aromatize a whole lot but still

Ya that is what I thought. Do you think I should email the doctor and express my concerns or just follow doctors orders and swallow my first dosage tonight? I am worried my E will crash terribly and I will have sore joints and be inwirst shape than before starting the trt!

I’m going to email the doctor tonight with my concerns. The dosage is insane. He usually gets back to me within 24 hours. Will post update to thread when I hear back.

Yeah man I would not take 1mg at one time. I've been prescribed 200mg/week and anastrozole at .5mg/week and had elevated e at 49. I dropped my dose( on my own accord) to 190mg/week and kept anastrozole at .5mg/week and just got bloods back today and sensitive e was 24. Of course everyone is different and what works for me will probably not be the same for you, but it does give u a point of reference. At 200mg/week I would take 0.25 3 times a week and I bet within a month you'll be around 30 give or take. 52 is a high number and I would want to lower it if it was me, but it's not crazy high and there is no need to tank your e. That's exactly what 3 mg./week of anastrozole will do. If your doctor insist on that much A.I. I would start looking for a new doc.

Just emailed him. Hopefully he will work with me. Asked him what level estrogen range he shoots for and told him I’m concerned because the guys I know I trt are not I that much ai. If he insists on that much, you think the practice would be upset if I just made a decision my my own to take a half milligram every 3 days? What did your doctor say when you told him you had lowered your dose or did you just not tell him? I really don’t want to find a new doctor. I like the doctor I have. His practice is unique. It is attached to a gym. They are a performance medicine institute. I get access to free things like DEXA scans, usage of the gym, and he had no problem prescribing me 200 mg a week to get me to the upper range of normal level on total t. After I get dialed in, I plan on running Sarms/prohormone cycles. I am sure he wouldn’t condone it, but he seems like the type that wouldn’t dismiss me from the practice if it were to come out somehow like through abnormal trt bloodwork results and I a also feel comfortable if I had to go to him if I had like a gyno issue due to a cycle. He lifts. Now why on earth the high dosage of Arimidex I have no idea. Hopefully I will get answers that make sense when he emails me back.

I definitely told them during my next appointment and they agreed and thought it was a great idea (and it worked). I would be honest with your doctor, he seems like a cool guy and should understand your concerns. They're not going to can you for something like that. 1.5mg/week anastrozole is still a big dose that I think is too much, but again I am not a doctor. Trt is a journey that takes time to dial in correctly. Very small changes in your protocol will have a big impact on your numbers and overall feeling.
 
How do you dose your half mg a week, once a week? I have one mg pills so could only cut them to .5 mg.

I wouldn't say a word. Start low, find your sweet spot and save the extra

I dose 90mg test c, 0.25 anastrozole and 500iu HCG every 3.5 days on Tues night and Sat morning. U could quarter the 1mg pills and dose 3 times/week. What is your current dosing protocol and schedule? Dosing schedule should be based on your SHBG.

I go to the office for the shot once a week for the full 200 mg. Not interested in giving myself my own shots or doing the 30 minute drive to their office twice a week. ( I know 2 shots a week would lower e). Those pills look like a bitc$ to cut into 3. If the dr doesn’t lower my dose I think I will lower on my own to half mg either twice a week on half milligram every three days. That would be 1.5 mg every 9 days.

So dr emailed me back today. He is cool with me lowering the dose to what I am comfortable with and splitting up the pills. The pills are 1 mg and hard to split twice to make them quarter milligram tabs, thus I am going to go with a half milligram Arimidex dosed twice a week.

Ya think I won’t tell the office about my adjustments as long as my estrogen test comes in at a good range in case I need some extra for future cycles! Good idea.
 
Yeah first of all 1mg 3 times a week is absurd for most on a blast of test let alone just 200mg trt. On 200mg of test weekly.. arimidex dosed .5mg twice weekly was more than enough. And that sucks they give you your shot at the office.. should just go for an anti aging clinic and pay out of pocket.. at least you can get better doses and way more options to add along but to each their own

Well my results just officially posted into my online Labcorp account. Turns out the doctor didn’t run the right test I had requested! I had requested a Sensitive Estradiol test since that is more accurate, but I see he ran just a regular Estradiol test! I ordered my own Estradiol Sensitive test back when I was on a lower dose of 175 mg Test a week and I came in at normal range at a 29. I have read the regular test can actually overestimate E2 so I emailed them tonight asking if I can come in tomorrow to have the Sensitive test done. My guess is at only 25 mg test more (dosage of 200) I will come in at the upper end of normal for estrogen. I really don’t want to be on an AI unless I have to as it can impact lipids negatively so that is what I am hoping for. It would be great if I end up in range cause then # 1) I won’t have to go on an AI and # 2) since I wouldn’t be starting an AI they won’t be testing for E again in a month so I can start my previously planned cycle! Will keep this thread updated when I get back new test results.
 
I read on steroidology guys that get 400mg week from clinics only using 200mg per week.. that can add up really fast.. even Dave palumbo has a video of it
