Tinea Versicolor

Anyone else had any issues with this skin irritation, and were able to treat it? I've been reading and I've come across information saying it can be a common issue among people who tan or workout. I live in Louisiana and it's already pretty humid making sweating an issue to begin with, but I lift everyday and I sweat like a mule. So far I've been using tea tree oil and benzoyl peroxide, any other suggestions?

If that's like white spots on the skin I had it a few years ago.
I got prescribed pills that I had to take with coke-cola and then sweat for 30 minutes.
Got rid of the white spots in two or 3 days and it never came back.

Yea, I was given the same by my dermatologist and it worked for a good while, but since it's come back I've been looking for a better remedy since some the pills they give you are hard on your liver.

I get something similar. On white skin, it looks like dark spots, and when it's hot as hell, the spots get red. On tanned skin, it looks like the spots or real dry, and the tanned layer slogs off leaving white spots. Don't know the medical term. My doc recommended rubbing athletes foot creme all over it for a couple weeks, and I also washed with selson blue dandruff shampoo. After about 2 weeks it cleared up for a long while.

I'm fat and out of shape and not showing off right now, so it looks bad now.

It's one of the Lotrimin cremes, that has a generic drug store brand much cheaper.

Don't know if I'm even in the same ballpark or not, but give it a try.

I had it as well. Living in Louisiana is part of the problem as my doctor told me that it usually happens in tropical, humid climates. My doctor prescribed me a lotion and I had to take some pills as well. Worked like a charm. It's almost like a yeast infection on the skin. Mine came back a little but nothing like it was before.

Thanks for all of the replies! Yea it's starting to seem like I may just need to go back to my dermatologist to get rid of this damn skin fungal. If only it wasn't summer in Louisiana haha

Yes when I was a teenager. Dr. prescribed cream and it was gone in weeks. Never had it since. Tinactin was the name IIRC>
