Thoughts on my blood work?

lopy12

New member
36 y/o male. I am convinced I have low T but my blood work doesn't agree...

I used to be thick neck in college but now my waist size keeps increasing and I am tired. Fatigued. No libido. No drive. I am a "new" dad to 19 month old twins. I know that the babies are a contributing factor but I still feel like I should have more drive and energy than I do.

I haven't had sex with my wife for months. Six months maybe?

I want to give TRT a try... or maybe I just need to get my ass of the couch and hit the gym again. Maybe some heavy lifting will get me going?

I’d consider checking cortisol, prolactin and thyroid numbers as well. Prolactin can really mess with your sex drive, not to mention that it can also lower your testosterone as well. High prolactin can also lead to a non-cancerous pituitary tumor which would definitely mess with the production of many hormones. Cortisol and thyroid will both contribute to fat gain, especially in the stomach and lower back. Your testosterone wasn’t that low, but I think you could still bring it up to around 600ng/dl or so with proper nutrition and training. It’s good to get a lot of hormones checked because they all essentially work together, and having some be unbalanced can cause errors with others. The hpta is an enormous feedback loop, so if one hormone is low, it’s likely to interfere with others.

Test doesn’t look like the problem. It could likely be fixed with proper diet and exercise. Also, you need to take psychology into account. If your feeling depressed then that could be the cause of your symptoms. Lifestyle choices contribute to your mindset and mindset contributes to lifestyle choices. If you sort all that out then you’ll likely feel better and your test levels will naturally rise. The benefits of these changes will be even greater if you and your wife exercise together and both start taking nutrition seriously.

A couple years ago me and my woman were barely having sex and we were wayyyyy too young to be in that position. But we were eating a lot of takeout, drinking lots of booze, not exercising, and super stressed about life. Now health and wellness is a huge part of our lives and our sex life is as good as it’s ever been. So try to make it a team effort if you can. And if all that doesn’t work, then you can consider steroids like a trt dose of test with maybe a little proviron.

AnabolicGuru made a good point about cortisol. You can combat that with ashwagandha. It’s scientifically proven to lower cortisol and increase testosterone. I take it and the decreased stress is obvious. It also boosts libido.
