Thoughts on blood work/ metabolic panel?

I would like some opinions from you guys that have experience with doing blood work as some of my numbers were slightly out of range and cause for concern. I have my thoughts on why these numbers could be slightly off but I would like your guys opinion before freaking out too much. My primary had called me a few weeks before I actually had access to the results and told me everything came back "good" so I'm not that concerned and have my thoughts as to why my numbers are slightly off mainly my metabolic panel. Without going into too much detail however I would like your opinions if these numbers are of much concern?

I tried to read it so could help, but for some reason when I blow it up, its too blurry to read.

If you want to post which numbers you're concerned about, or message me a clearer image, I'd be glad to try to help.

My main concern is having such low alkaline phosphatase levels. My globulin is low but this may be due to fasting for 12 hours and my metabolism is very fast. I also have been donating white blood cells for the last two years and still working out two days a week somewhat explaining my low protein and therefore low globulin levels and a high ratio of albumin to globulin. Would low protein levels even be related to having low globulin?

Currently on TRT at 130 mg a week

Your Hematocrit is just creping to the high side, I would make sure you stay well hydrated or consider a blood donation. The American Red Cross needs all the help they can get right now!

Thanks brother. I have been meaning to donate red blood cells. Everytime I get my hematocrit checked with a fingerstick I pass but a few times my iron has been way too high. I don't know the exact correlation between hematocrit and iron but I have since cut back on foods that are high in iron and vitamin C. My iron has since dropped significantly to the lower end of the range so I'm thinking it was more diet related than an increase in RBC from testosterone.. but probably both. However I still don't understand the relationship between iron levels and hematocrit

I will definitely be donating red blood cells here in the near future

Tip, drink twice the water you normally would up to the time of your donation, it will make it easier on you and the tech. I have donated over 5 gallons of blood in my like time. Funny thing now they don't want it any more !!

Iron can be a complicated subject in general, much moreso than most people realize, because you can have high levels of iron but low levels of iron utilization, and thereby still have symptoms of low iron because your body isn't utilizing it properly. Then, something may change and your body starts utilizing it and what was high levels before can actually turn into low levels. Or vice versa. I learned that from it happening to me a couple years back. My iron went from low to super scary high, then they did the other blood tests and it showed my body wasn't utilizing it properly.

There seem to be a lot of people at the Infusion Center, getting Iron Infusions ???

I learned a lot about iron levels and iron utilization levels and there being more than just the basic testing for it thru my own experience, which was quite scary at the time.

I had always been on the low side with iron, and I rarely eat meat - long story, but basically when I developed the allergy to gluten, I just kind of stopped eating meat because everything I ever had meat with had gluten in it. I fixed a steak one day, got sick as crap, then realized it had probably been 6 months since I had ate meat and then every time I tried to eat it again, it would bother my stomach, so I just stopped trying.

Anyway, so thru that, my iron didn't go a lot lower, which was surprising - and my doctor had told me to take an iron supplement, which I had for a while and it got my levels up. Then I had slacked off, had blood work, and my iron level was through the roof - which scared me and my doctor and made no sense at all.

That's when she ordered more testing and it turns out that my body wasn't efficiently using iron and my levels were only actually high because it wasn't being properly utilized. That's when I realized though the first step when iron is too high is to have more different testing done in order to make sure your body is utilizing it correctly.

It is important to consult with a medical professional who can interpret the results and provide personalized advice on any necessary follow-up or treatment. It's great that the primary care physician indicated that everything came back "good," but it's important to get a more detailed explanation from a medical professional about the specific numbers that are slightly out of range.

Agreed mate. I was going to repost my results on the anabolic forum but your right. I'm just going to wait until my next appointment with the doc and see what he says. I have my follow up here in the next few weeks

Interesting. I know that when I slack off in the gym my iron levels stay high. If I stop exercising completely than my iron levels get way above range. I always tell people especially as we age that it's more important to workout for the immune system and health benefits and not so much "making gains"

Also of note when I was taking between 10 to 20 grams of creatine a day my iron was always in range
