Those Callouses..

I've noticed my hands getting rough with callouses and that worries me because i don't want hands that look like a man lol.

I know the skin is meant to get thicker because of the weights but I find callouses a bit too much. I been trying to file them down with a manicure stick, and the chemist store sold me a gel/cream that is meant to treat this problem. well thats what the rep said, i'll start using it tonight.

How do you guys treat callous? if you even do this. I don't wear gloves when i train, should I start? (maybe suggest brand as well if poss)

cheers so much for helping.

I think you'll find that most here will be looking to strengthen them. It's one of those iron badges of honor. Lotion will help to keep them from peeling as badly, though.

I know, they call this a catch22 right? Want to get gains and be stronger but hands become mangled mess.

I am blaming it on romanian dfeadlifts so I am going to use this thin foam I found and see if it helps. The cream is ok and I also soaked them in epsom salt and then rub them like crazy with pumice stone. so not all the callouses are gone, just the real ugly thick bits.
HardB0iled; I know guys that work out don't mind callouses but guys outside of the gym actually ask 'are you a tradie' and then laugh at me.

You could use wrist straps on them to minimal contact with the knurling.

thank you that is very helpful.

oh and I was just thinking that if a guy touched my hand and was grossed out even after i tell him its because i lift, then he is the wrong guy for me anyways. lol.

I agree w/ everyone callouses are great. I'm proud of them and a girl shouldnt worry about having any. Show it off!
