I was listening to the Best of in the gym this morning which was what inspired me to find a video and to my surprise I found some 10-12-15 yo or so concert footage of a show I was at...cool.
Anthrax warmed them up that night. Pretty aggressive and hostile crowd. :aargh:

I seen Pantera's last tour when I was 15 I believe.I always told my Uncle,who got me into pantera,That I was scared of not being able to see them since I knew my parents wouldn't let me go.He would say they're fvcking pantera!They wont break up!They did have their side bands and all,but I bet they would of got back together to tour atleast.They never did break up.Then that dumbass kills Dime!!! :rant:
I remember some guy that actually got thrown on stage(actually made it)ran up to Dime and grabbed him during fvcking hostile.A guard drug him off and Dimes arm slid up the neck of the guitar.It went perfectly with the song,and Dime just kept playing and didn't mind at all.Phil was asking how many people ate acid and was telling us you haven't lived if you haven't ate acid :lol: Then Phil was saying how he would kick anyones ass who thinks metallica is heavy metal.....It was so cool!!!Especially since I seen a guy wearing a metallica shirt,and I was asking what the hell this guy was doing.My uncle just shrugged and shoock his head.

I also seen boobs and shirts being lit on fire and thrown in the air.A guy behind us had horn implants in his head.We smoked so much "hand rolled cigs" and it was great.Especially since this was in the height of my stoner/freack days.You could just sit and smoke while looking at cops........WOW!!!!was all I could say as I was watching GODS perform before my eyes in this enviroment.

Don't be dissin' on metallica now.
They certainly were metal up your azz back in the day. Maybe not as much anymore, but they most definitely were thrash metal at its best at one point.

I know.But thats his point and any other "metal heads"They completely changed their roots and turned their backs on hardcore fans to gain more mainstream fans(keyword more)Some cant get past this and others can.Then some don't even know/realise this.I'm not as pasionate about it now,as I once was.But they completely changed for the worse for money.

Well thats part of what turned many loyal fans off.When a memeber dies,the band is no more.End of story.How would you like it if your wife divorced you(If you're married,hopefully wont happen if you are)But she just wanted you to leave.In other words just replace you with another,but act like nothing happened.It's not right.She's supposed to get a new last name,new home,share the kids and belongings,and a new life in general.Not just replace you and act like nothing happened.Now robert plant when asked if Led Zeppelin would ever tour again said we might tour one day and play led zeppelin songs,but not as led zeppelin.Without John Bonham,we are not Led Zeppelin.Thats how it should be.All memebers make a band,when ones gone,so is the band!
I mean they made such a dramatic change in music,attitude etc.....That a name change is not far fetched at all.Listen to one(a absolutely great song)and then listen to the mission impossible song,or the freight train comming you way,and many others that I can not stand.I'm not the only one either.I have talked to many who will rant with me and go and go.I have also met many who tell me,and I'm dead serious,that they need to feed their family?????My uncle was a die hard fan,and he still listens to old stuff.When he tells his stories of the changes,you can tell that he's dissapointed and let down by them for many reasons.Like a parent with their kid.Many others feel the same way,it's world wide.This doesn't happen for no reason.

Well having been a loyal VH fan for over 25 years I tend not to have the same finite view on things. Van Halen evolved and grew up with me. I could not imagine how much life times of experiences me and my best friends and brothers would have not had had Sammy not joined the band. As much as DLR was an awesome front man, I outgrew him and so did many many more mature fans. It was when 5150 (hint) came out that we were all finally able to graduated Junior Varsity and moved on Varsity. In reality some fans are just only JV and can't make Varsity.

Seriously. I love my wife and family but if it were to happen like that it would be sweet. I know that sound callus but then again you and I are in different places in life and in different reference points.
I'd see the reunion in a heart beat. Jason Bonham has played with them before. Any drummer that made the band a complete unit would suffice. Led Zeppelin would fill stadiums across the planet with any drummer. The Who did it.
Their are entire generations of fan base that knows no old school original Metallica, VH, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Journey, Stix, Queen, Reo Speedwagon, Ozzy Osbourne (RIP RR), Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy and on and on.
They are professional musicians who do need to feed their families. The music industry is a business profession. I personally don't take my music interests so personally and seriously that I really care beyond just entertainment.
Here's one for you and it is an other metaphor that is a more mature level of looking at it and I promise T1 will completely appreciate and maybe you will come to see it that way too: NYY/SOX rivalry. Johnny Damon in pinstripes?!?!?!? Are you fvcking kidding me?!?!?! I could not fvcking believe it!!! Most of the lunatic NY fans probably flipped their lids. I was rather amused and even perplexed by the transaction. Today Johnny puts on the strippes and contributes and produces and IS a Yankee and I'll route for him just as much as I did Bernie Williams (whom btw IS Yankee blue through and through). The Yankees are bigger than any one player. The game is bigger than the Yankees. Johnny is a professional athlete who played (worked) for the RedSox at one time. Now he happens to be employed working for the Yankees. It is a business. Everyone is making way too much insane money playing a boys game for me to take it any more serious than entertainment.

Agreed B. It's a game and the money pays the bills. As much as it pains me to see johnny damon in a yankee uniform, i understand that you have to do what you have to do. I still have all my damon stuff. I still wear it in fact. I'll never forget him being part of that self proclaimed "Idiots" Sox team that won the WS in 2004. Just as you said, in all reality it's nothing more than entertainment in the end.
