Ben & Jerry's Strawberry Not So Shortcake

Overall I was skeptical on a fruity offering from Ben & Jerry's while never having their original Strawberry Cheesecake flavor. The base is good and if they made more in this Strawberry cake ice cream flavor I would suggest giving it a crack. The shortbread pieces were great from start to finish. Nearly getting one or multiple pieces in every single bite till the very end. While the strawberry mix-ins were lacking in size and flavor it was still a very small compliment to the new Ben & Jerry limited flavor. The little flecks reminded me of Nutty Caramel Swirl and how the nut pieces were shattered throughout the pint. I would consider this pint if you are a fruit fan (Strawberry), or really enjoy Strawberry Shortcake. Since this is a limited flavor you may want to act quick before it may be gone!

Grade: B+

Omg!! Wish I could get it

Whole foods. Use the flavor locator on Steves main webpage. I requested it at my Co-Op (Smaller than a whole foods) and they got it

Went to a 7-11 to grab ice on way back from Buffalo... Left with a 7-11 brand pint - Banana Cream Pie.

You get that? Hear anything on it?

yeah could not remember and too lazy to search this mammoth thread for it ... I read your reviews of Fudge marsh & cookie dough so I am hoping for a lot of pie pieces.
The Solution no s'mores when you purchased? I was thinking of getting but already had the Wegmans version in the trunk lol so passed

Gelato Fiasco Almond Butter Chocolate Chunk Gelato

Overall if you love almond butter & chocolate this is a dream come true. Look no further as this is one of Gelato Fiasco's best offerings in my opinion. Combining a very smooth, creamy, and delicious almond butter base with loads of chocolate is a killer one two punch. The chocolate chunks are not rock hard, and provide a hershey chocolate taste in each bite. I would have no second doubts on ordering another one of these pints. Even with the 10$ price tag to order this pint offline it was worth every single penny.

GNO better scoop this this week ha

Literally an hr after reading this I drove by a BnJ scoop shop lol. I stopped in...they had butter pecan but no Bourbon. The store clerk had no info :(
Then I headed to WF to look for steve's whoopie pie.

Spoiler Alert: Got it!

Maybe I got a dud but super weak on mix-ins, not bursting with whoopie pieces like The Solution.
It's a vegan mcflurry ha. The best part of it was it's soy free and I have an intolerance to soy. I would not recommend...B-

Went to a scoop shop in Gatlinburg TN and they had zero flavors that weren't any different from what was sold in the store. Well, one the 7 layer bar? Which was meh.

Not many flavors are different
Candy Bar Pie if they still have in scoop shops is worth a scoop. Un F'in Real.

Taste tested it last night and yeah your 100% right. Too bad I had Steves whoopie pie already - huuuge letdown. Candy bar pie would've been much better.

I also tried turtle cheesecake and that was legit too. There was one with coconut & choco creme pie swirls iirc, not bad.

Had GF maple sap tap yesterday.....very good soft basic creamy base with maple flavors, nice bits and chunks of those awesome maple sugar candies.... If or a maple fan its a must scoop. With a swirl of maple it would be an easy A but I'm going B

I just had that as well. I think the base needed some work. the maple was there, but the swirl in Steve's Sunday Morning was much stronger maple wise. Tasted like a faint maple syrup IMO

Letdown?
My whoopie pie was nearly a 100% piece of whoopie pie from top to bottom
was F'in Epic.
Steve's is hit or miss with mix-ins. Thats why they are clear. Look at the ones and see the mix-ins and get that pint :)

did not see this till now ^^ Exactly what i do with Steve's.
Find the one with the biggest swirl (banana pudding or salty caramel) = Keeper

Ben & Jerry to go non-dairy:

So many of our fans have been asking us to carry a non-dairy product, we couldn’t keep the secret anymore. We can now confirm that it’s true, we are working on non-dairy flavors, and we hope to have them available in the United States next year

I saw this as well.

I went scoop shop last night - Target & Walmart tonight and no dice.

The headline says coming soon so I guess I'm too early. Hoping for another trip to TX now lol.

Graeter's Black Cherry Chocolate Chip

Graeter's hasn't incorporated any of the natural tartness of actual cherries; only their sweetness. Although this base will not top Black Raspberry, it's not very far behind either. Picture taking the jam of a cherry and infusing it into a very rich & sweet cherry flavored, base and that is what Graeter's offers in Black Cherry Chocolate Chip. Combine this great base with their signature chocolate chips and you have another classic offering on the Graeter's line. While the base does not top Black Raspberry in my opinion this is something you should consider scooping. Even coming from a guy who is not a massive cherry fan this was a great change of pace.

This is how a man does it The Solution ;)

Tj's pumpkin pie was amazing. Best, strongest, and sweetest pure pumpkin flavor of any I've tried. No mix ins is a bummer but the flavor alone is so strong it's worth a buy anyways.

A man is not afraid to eat more than a 60 calorie per serving ice cream, especially if its a cheat meal.
Eager to hear the feedback on that pint of coolhaus. May scoop it up when i hit columbus in 2 weeks. Heard the cake pieces are HNNGG

You need to go try Handel's Pumpkin, I have yet to find something to top it. The amount of spices is superior to any pumpkin ice cream + the pumpkin base is basically a sweetened libbys out of a jar. Spot on perfect.

The coolhaus (through 1/4 pint) is a huge disappointment. I specifically searched for one that I could see had a lot of cake/fudge: Invalid Link Removed

Still very little at the top. Only got one tiny (<1/8" cube) cake piece and a few drops of fudge. It could be an epic bottom but it needs to be distributed for me to consider it top notch.

The base is very creamy and a rich choc flavor tho. Very good, but nothing that can't be found with better mix ins

That's quite the collection! The TJ pumpkin is attractive, but I'm really interested in that Coolhaus. Going to try and grab some this weekend.

Annnddd, I'll pass lol. Looks like I'll head over to TJ tomorrow instead.

The Coolhaus Molten chocolate is decent but not spectacular. The cake pieces are very good but there aren't a lot. I got no noticeable swirl of fudge in my pint while others have gotten all swirl and no cake pieces. When you pay $6+ for a damn pint I expect some QC!

Your juding a book by its cover. thats why a 1 serving sometimes does not tell the whole story. LIke for me, when i did Whoopies and Pies from steve, the top 3-4 bites was just the base, then the rest of the pint was a huge whoopie pie. Literally haha

we both know how swirls and mix-ins can sometimes amplify as the pint dwindles down.

Hitting Handels the next 2 weeks I am in Pittsburgh & Columbus for weddings. Pumpkin comes out October 1st, Cant wait to CRUSH it again.

Handels Hash Time --> PB Base + Chocolate Football mix-ins and Peanut butter swirl
Graham Central Station (Another new flavor)
Hopefully Buckeye is back in pints.

That's odd, my coolhaus molten was FULL of cake pieces

Just like how some people say their steve pints don't have much. Mine was loaded
But again sometimes if you eat only 1 serving you may miss a lot of the swirl/mix-ins because most companies do not put a lot right on the top.

i have heard of dud pints from all brands but it seems it is more prevalent from Steves & Cool Haus . Especially for the price point that is really disappointing.

I had GF Pistachio Marscapone on Friday night - tons of pistachios, was great!

BnJ PB world last night / FN unreal! Best PB flavoured pint I have had and definitely my top BnJ flavour to date. Beats out HD PB pie in my book.

Yup PB world is great, crazy how its a milk chocolate base too!
If you complain about the 6$ pint of coolhaus you have paid far more for online ice cream and were let down worse in the past.

that's true but I'll still complain lol

Yeah, way better than their typical base too. Seriously thinking of re-scooping PB World but so much more to try ...

Thinking to get 7/11 s'mores. I caught a post on BB.com saying it was on par with Wegmans and better than GF. The Solution

My complaint stems more from the fact that I dug over half way down... Ate one serving but did some exploration first ha.

Meh...
Glad they covered the bill on this one:

Halo Top Chocolate & Vanilla Review:

Invalid Link Removed

Invalid Link Removed

Halo Top was in the talks of reformulating their chocolate due to customer feedback, so this may be why I rate this chocolate as I do. Overall If i were to get this or pay 5$ for it I would be upset. I could find much better ways to spend 5$ to fix my chocolate taste buds besides a dry tasting low calorie ice cream. I would have to say this would be put on my list of worst ice creams I have ever encountered over my time. This not being a 100% true ice cream, but for a healthy option and the price tag it is hard to justify:

Grade: F

Invalid Link Removed

Upon my first bite it gave me a small hint of a vanilla bean coffee creamer but with a very faint aftertaste. The flavoring could of been a bit stronger, but for nearly 70 calories per serving beggars cannot be choosers. After a few more bites I did start to find a balance of vanilla bean and a french vanilla taste which was unique. The creaminess of the ice cream is on the denser side, but does melt pretty quick

7-Eleven Fudge Marshmallow Ice Cream

Invalid Link Removed

Invalid Link Removed

When you combine a very solid base with two great compliments you piece together a fantastic ice cream offering. The "Cocoa" labeled base took me by surprise with flavor as I would rank it up there as a premium chocolate base. This is no Jeni's do not get me wrong, but the sheer amount of richness in the chocolate is great. The Fudge ribbon packs a turkey hill like swirl that has a bold hershey chocolate syrup flavor. The marshmallow swirl is very light in texture, and has a nice creamy compliment to the bombardment of chocolate. If you are a Chocolate lover who enjoys marshmallow look no further. This brought me back to my campfire days of melting marshmallow's between two hershey chocolate bar's.
