How many of you have gotten stuck on this show like I have? My wife got the first season on DVD through her boss, and we watched it, then had to buy into showtime for the second season which ends on Sunday.

In case you are unaware it deals with the life of King Henry VIII. His troubles with women, life etc... This sunday Ann Boleyn will be getting the axe. It is a fun show, with slight historical inaccuracies.
Plus, lots of nudity and hot women.:dance:

man, I gotta say, the girl who plays Anne is smokin'

also, King Henry lived such a charmed life, it is good to see be the king

yeah, hard to believe he became such a fatass later in life, as he was reputed as being handsome in his youth. As lecherous as he seems to have been, you'd think a combination of vanty and self respect would have been enough for him to keep himself in shape.

after the jousting injury it was going to be near impossible to be active, hence the weight gain, and also women were going to throw themselves at him regardless of his weight. Again, good to be the king
 
I am really excited for tonight, as it will be interesting how realistic the show makes the execution. The problem with being a history teacher is that I analyze shows like this for realism. Tudors does have some issues, but has been fairly decent in that regard.

reaper, have you watched rome? it has a much better storyline to me (even though i love the tudors).

the thing with the tudors i that i wished that they went more into the kings relationship with mary. I've been sloppy about keeping up with the series lately, i will catch up though!

I gotta say that with my profession I need to step back from movies as well. Braveheart and the Patriot killed me, I hate them.

THe tudors is fairly reasonable, and sadly i havent seen rome, but one your rec might have to look into it.

my favorite part about this is that out of all the tudors, it is Elizabeth (henry's daughter with anne) who turns out the best ruler, ohhh the irony

That is so amazing. Its really cool to be able to try and take a peak at queen elizabeth's parents, especially anne.
 
I've watched Rome and The Tudors....Rome tops it hands down.

But big props to both of them for their willingness to show off the beauty of the female anatomy.

IMO....History of the World Part 1 tops them all.

it was a great episode, my wife was actually crying.

I agree, the look at Anne was interesting, granted she was a sassy lady, but not guilty of the charges against her, it wont be until wife #4 that Henry does get cheated on with Anne's cousin Katherine Howard. She meets the executioner as well

it is a shame that he (henry) was such a tool, they give you a glimpse into what he becomes as a glutonous pig at the end of the show. It is a shame it is gone until next year. I will say this, that the actress plaing Anne (Natalie Dormer) is smoking hot, and it is a shame to loose her for that reason as well, besides Anne's innocence. :frustrate
 
Yeah, it's a great show because period piece usually don't do it for me. Just great, great acting.

Well, yeah Henry does "pork" out in real life. But I think the produces thought y'know who really who wants to see Henry's fat, hoary ass sweating over the hotties?
 
I have heard that the actor playing henry doesnt want to gain the weight. Would be interesting though, as theymight want to give some sense of that reality
