THE ROCK FOR PRESIDENT?

Ever since Arnold won in California and Jesse “The Body” Ventura won in Minnesota, the idea of athletes successfully running for major, elected office, became conceivable. That’s because we’ve seen a change of the guard. Whereas politicians used to have to be old, grey, and (hopefully) wise, things began to change after the Reagan/Bush era. When Bill Clinton won the presidency, that changed presidential candidacies forever.

So let’s just look at The Rock’s presidential qualifications:

Dwayne Johnson is:
An actor;
A producer,
A retired professional wrestler, and
A former football player.

He is rich, and is one of the world's highest grossing and highest-paid actors.
He played college football at the University of Miami. He played in the CFL.
He is the son of a wrestler, Rocky Johnson.
He has a Bachelor of General Studies degree in criminology and physiology.
He has a bunch of catchphrases.
He has a signature pose.
He can contort his face so that one eyebrow is higher than the other.
He has been in a music video and he recorded a song.
He has hosted Saturday Night Live.
He published an autobiography, titled "The Rock Says" (hey, that is catchy)
He endorsed Joe Biden.
He was married, then divorced and has remarried.

So, in summary – no he has no presidential skills or training whatsoever.

Just like Joe Biden.

I liked WWF as a kid, stayed up late watching the rock on raw etc. Felt like a punch in the gut when he gave his political support.
Some simps bought a couple of ‘project rock’ items I wore plenty, and sold on eBay....I bought the IML 4andro TD with that money, true story!

Although the picture above includes the rainbow flag, I believe the objection to Trudeau is that he is an idiot, and the objection is not related to who Trudeau does or does not like - at least that is how I took it.

You cannot be serious about alleging someone is racist and homophobic based on the clip that was posted. I see NOTHING relating to race and NOTHING relating to sexual preference.

I have no idea what race Trudeau is or what preferences may have, nor do I care. I simply think Trudeau is a phony idiot.

But the bigger issue is this: Why, anytime any person objects to anything, does another person feel compelled to assign motives to the other person and then claim the other person is a pejorative "ist" of some type?

I hope this forum doesn't turn into that ...

If you can’t figure it out bud I don’t know what to tell you. He’s a terrible leader no doubt. If that’s also how you feel, make that statement. Calling him an idiot and then posting pics of him celebrating with the LGBTQ community certainly comes off poorly and can be left to such interpretations.

1st - I didn't post the pics. I don't know where they came from or (other than the black face makeup thing) what they are supposed to represent. Nor, do I care. That is his business, not mine.
2nd - But even after looking at the dancing clip again, there is nothing in that clip that associates his celebration with any specific cause or purpose. I still don't. The only conclusion I reach after watching it again, is to feel better about my own dancing prowess.
3rd - Your comments about me referring to him as an idiot are fully valid. He is not, so far as I know, an actual idiot (whatever that means clinically, if anything). You are correct, I should have said that I believe he is a poor leader with poor decision making and frightening policy decisions, based on my views.

Whatever else he is (or is not), I couldn't care less.

I just have a hard enough time figuring out my own motives, much less than be able to assign motives to other people. The reason I commented was on that. I would like to think that we can agree/disagree/agree to disagree without name calling.

My lord does everything end up being about racism? Do people in this country really believe there is a racism problem? The vast majority of people (I would guess 95%+) are not racist, nor do they look at or judge others based on skin color.
