Hey Brothers & Sisters
I'm Still alive and kicking.
This year has been a real bitch when it comes to the real life stuff.I know that I've haven't posted very much in a long time, but have checked in at "Home" when I was able.
This year was a bad year for training for me.
Started of cracking & chipping a elbow that set me back about 16wks. just to get it healed. The wife was real understanding, but was ready for me to get back to lifting.
The training "DT'S" were really getting bad by week 8.
Then, went to the VA for my 6mth check-up. They do a complete overall body check,6 vials of blood, cup full and chest and back x-rays.Everything came back in very great results but the x-rays.
Here's where it really get to be a bummer somewhat.
L4 & L5 are ate up with DDD(Degenerative Disc Disease)
along with the spinal coloum closing around the spinal cord.
This really sent me for a loop. Being a Personal Trainer and
managing the gym here in Temple,Tx at night, this really put my future working in a new perpective of life. After alot of soul searching and just thinking(being bummed and somewhat
depressed). I made the choice that will ultimatly effect the rest of my life. /uck it and get back into training. At 43 what do I have left to lose. Those who know me for the start of AM will remember how for I've come in the last 5yrs.(living life fast & very hard)
Some will say that I'm crazy for training for competitions
and getting back to the hardcore style of bodybuilding, but
if I ever do end up in a chair(which is a possibility) I'll still compete, they do have wheelchair divisions.
Started training with a fellow trainer here at the gym 2 wks ago. He's a fellow bodybuilder and competes 3-4 times a year. After having such a long lay-off it really killed me the first week back. It didn't help that he pushed me to the brink on several occasions. GOD I LOVE THIS LIFE again.
We(I) have one and only one goal for 2005. WIN every show that we enter. Being the best shape and ripped on stage, then live it in the hands of the judges. As those who compete know it's all up to the judges. We aren't giving them any reason to have a second thought. I will be the clear cut winner each time. Second is not a option.
Peace
Gary
