The new TUF thread.

I really can't gauge Danzig's size either. I would guess that he walks around at about 180(5'8"?), so I guess he's kind of a tweener. He would probably fit in nicely in EliteXC's 160# division.

Yeah, the overall depth is lacking, but the next round of fights should have some intensity. That's been generally lacking this season, a failure to engage.

It has to be a product of inexperience - Matt Hughes' coaching style is beating these guys down, and these fighters are scared of the KO.

Truth is - A punch KO is mentally scary, but it can be the best thing to happen to a fighter, a loss of conciousness is not as bad as they think it is, sore jaw and all, go for it,snarl, scrap, fight.

These guys need to get ****faced drunk and start piss whipping dicks, eye raking, slamming and shanking each other, that's good TV.

I'm waiting for a Pros versus Joes, Old dudes versus Aspiring young studs edition of TUF - Count me in, winner gets to box Dana White, move over Melonheaded Tito.

They really have focused too much on the coaches and not enough on the fighters. Tommy seems like a strange but interesting character and until last night I dont think he said a word on the show. How many times do we need to hear Serra call Hughes a dikk---YOU DONT LIKE HIM ,WE GET IT.

With the right casting that could be phenomenal. See how some young inexperienced athletic guys do against the likes of Harold Howard(mulletsoldier's uncle), Pat Smith, Severn, Polar Bear?

I'm at 227, feeling great, stamina forever and far faster , harder hands than ever before - I would love the opportunity to compete again. I seriously don't care about blood, bruising or a KO, it's welcome, bring it.

Word to the Wise - In this Pfied day and age, never ever underestimate motivated older athletes, we come hard, a hard that new school twentysomethings can't tolerate.

Pain is good, can you feel it?

I though being KO'd was kind of out of the question for you. How many concussions are you rolling with? 227, damn, what were you 2 years ago on the tube? I would love to see you throw, that would be entertaining in many ways.

I think you're right about young guys nowadays for the most part, except for all of us here at AM:donut: :whip:

The Question is - would I be the Hammer or the Nail?

KO given or KO received?

Answer - Thrown. I hit Accurate and Hard on my toes and can sustain round for round. Jab Eyes. I don't want to mess my sharp intellect up with head shots to dumb me down.

Mean, Lean, Kevin, G.... it rhymes, still I hide identity, **** y'all. Except for those I call net friend.

All depends who you fight I guess. Mike Bourke=you're the hammer, Aleks E=you're the nail......in your own coffin:run:

You're mean lean mumbo jumbo made me remember the time you held Okerlund's hand for way too long, member dat?

Mickey Rourke? Miami tweak/drunk, living on "Sin City" creds and $, slapped him down and walked away with his puss to my booth, mine for the night.

Aleks E - I could beat him. Inside Straight Drive, That's what he's most susceptible to and I do best, why do y'all think I like JLB the most?, most like me!!

Ten Million dollar bet - Me v whoever, Fedor? Given time and any known opponent, they won't have tape or anything to base on me, I will give ANYONE a fight, anywhere, anytime. Book it.

Lose, don't matter. I stood up, I'll beat him elsewhere. You 2007 get around to it toughboys are way way behind men like me.

I will admit to definitely being a get around to it type of guy. You vs Fedor? Come on man, do you really think you would give him a good fight? Put down the whiskey, quit poppin the oxy, and lets get real. You were a great athlete, but you aint on that level, not now, not then.

I all seriousness - I believe I could give Fedor a good fight. I would have to train wrestling, that I don't know now.

My VO2 max (stamina) is far superior to what it was with the Panthers, leaning out to hit and no longer needing to shoulder tackle. I've been very seriously focusing on how good can I can get with my fists, I really enjoy punching. I'm good, really good, both strike and parry and duck from my hips and move away on toes.

Once Fedor threw me down, I'm probably done, but never ever any quit in me.

**** Me, what was this thread about, ha, .......

I'll take your word for it, but really I think you would be in trouble really fast. If he felt your power and didn't like it, he would take you down and sub you before you realized what the hell was going on.

All this work you're putting in, just for fun, or are you contemplating competing? And god damnit do you remember holding Okerlund's hand awkwardly or what?

Okerlund? Are you talking about the "mean" one?

Who are you training with these days Rogue? Are you sparring with anyone we'd know? It sounds like you're training pretty hard these days and are peaked, although you might be getting a little carried away with the Aleks E comment.

How would you fight H. Alexander, or would you just give up because of his cornhusker toughness (I can't even say that with a straight face this season  )?

Yes, the "mean" one. You know the clip I'm talking about, Rogue is so focused on yapping that he forgets to let go of Gene's hand.

Who is everyone's pick to win the show at this point(quarters)? Reaper, if you know who wins, don't chime in. I think I'm going with George, his head is most in it, and he seems to have as good if not better skills than Danzig.

Yeah, I'm a legend in my own mind. I just talk smack here, from the fairly safe anonymity of the net, as an outlet to help keep myself in check out in the walkabout world.

I just throw hands for fun at gyms in FL and GA, when I'm not attacking the heavybag and BOB with eye jabs and throat strikes. I'm crazy enough already, don't need to rattle anything else loose by getting punched too often or hard in my fathead.

I have great confidence in myself and what I could do, but I'm sure the real fighters could beat an old bigmouth dude like me to a pulp.

More on topic - I'm always suprised that there are not more fights in these houses, it's really hard to live with that many different personalities doing irritating stuff and not lose it. I once thought about trying out for Survivor, but they would boot me off fast when I took charge and told the other castaways to get off their lazy asses and get to work.

I also would pick George to win. Most of the guys seem to speak highly of his talents. I think Mac is also obviously very good, but I just think he's a tad undersized for 170 and could be giving up 15 pounds to George (just a guess). I like Tommy's heart but he's pretty raw yet. Ben looked OK, and Matt could be decent. Rudeboy appears to hit quite hard too. Some of them had such short fights it was really hard to tell.

who is rudeboy? refresher..

someone said there was a guy from hawaii on the show, i dont know there are a bunch of these guys that dont exactly stand out in the memory.

I think Rudeboy is the guy from Hawaii that trains with Penn, but I can't remember since they hardly show some fighters. Hughes' picked one of his dudes to go up against him (dumb pick) and Rudeboy beat him.

Ya, Rudeboy is Troy Mandaloniz and is Hawaiian. He KO'd Paul G. He mentions Penn a lot so if you see him on the screen you'll know. He appears to be a very hard puncher from the clips we've seen. We haven't seen him on the ground yet though.

Please son, the cryingemo would pwnz0r you. Although teh cryingemo is no joke. </thirdperson>

I'd just send Mac Danzig over to y'alls house to keep it real, he has very litlle patience for you worthless Bowman like ****tard pieces of ****.

Danzig is undersized and probably physically up against it in the semis, but that experience shows, he's mentally cool, transitioning very smoothly.

Mac looked pretty good tonight. I don't see him being that much smaller than the others either but maybe gives up 7-10# to the big weight cutters. I'm surprised he's as built as he is as a vegan. I think he'll end up in the finals and the semis will be Tommy, Rudeboy, George and Mac. I'm starting to get a little more excited about this season now.

this season is shaping up i think.

I was surprised as well with Mac, he's is built pretty good, looks strong and athletic. I dont think he is undersized, he can hang with even Tommy imo, its when and if he hits UFC and competition gets better will he have some problems with his size to the bigger 170lbers.

If Mac wins the season I think he drops down to 155 which is his natural weight. He could do very well there against some of the better 155lbers.

Last night Arroyo looked real good, and George was George. The next semi final should be the most competitive, but the best fight seems to be that ding aling War Machine and the Tyson sounding JRock.

I caught up with the show just in time to see Arroyo armbarring Rudeboy. How the hell do you armbar a BJ Penn fighter? I'll have to catch that one later.

that is pretty true hes a banger, o and he doesnt train with BJ no more he used to but hes out here in vegas as a MMA instructor for Marc Laimon at Cobra Kai Jiu-Jitsu but still you would expect him to know how to get out of that kind of stuff but espically with Marc Laimon, i think he said he froze up, it was the whole matt serra not cornering him and stuff and matt hughes made a good point when he said that he should have cornered him to bad fo my hawaiian brother

So far the quarterfinals have been as uninteresting as the prelims. There is such a disparity in the skill levels of the fighters that it leads to boring,one-sided bouts. I think the semis will be MUCH more exciting.

I was surprised with Rude Boy's lack of a ground game. he looked completely out of his element, and you sort of felt that as soon as it went to the ground, he was a goner. I think Matt is going to get Mac in the semi's and will get beat pretty bad.

That to me will leave George v. Tommy (I think he will win) where George will finish him standing

Since you said you already knew the finals, are we safe to say its Mac v George?

This was the best episode so far this season imo. It was great! lol i would probably have been with those three, they seem like my kind of guys. JRoc went nuts when he kicked the door in hahah and Mac is pretty funny how he gets pissed all the time. A good fight from Tommy too. Ben should have had him subbed on two occasions.

So its Tommy, Mac, George, and that other guy. What will the matchups be?

that is nasty, to be honest I was not sure what it was at first. Funny as hell if it isnt my bowl

At the end they announced Matt v. Mac and Tommy v. George. However they said 1 guy cannot fight.

I like Tommy. He's tough as nails with that Hughes-like never give up attitude, and he was pissed that he didn't finish. Saunders seems to have some potential but he's a goofy bastard.

These matchups sound good for Hughes' guys. Tommy might be able to grind out a slow decision, but might get subbed. It seems like Matt might be more of a bjj whiz than George so it's a better fight for Tommy. I think Mac can handle Arroyo.

Mac vs. George is my guess. Wait, one of the 4 guys can't fight, right? Preview said something about this.

Gut feeling is that Mac gets hurt. I have no idea who the replacement might be, though.

Tommy is one tough SOB. Remember that he is only 22 and has a lot of time to build on his great wrestling base.

Mac comes across more and more like a hypocrit.

I wonder if Tommy's arm is injured and he can't fight? My guess is that when someone has to come back it would be John Kolosci if Serra needed someone and Dan or Billy if Hughes needed someone. I think Dan should get the shot but I don't know about his eye yet.

I can almost guarantee its Tommy that gets hurt. No other fighter had a bruise on him.

If that turns out to be the case, Its going to be Danzig vs George Final I guarantee 100%.

Tommy is training with Hughes as we speak.

Mac is kind of a **** but at least he backs it up and can fight. That and vegans are douche bags.

It will be a crime if Bowman doesnt get a 2nd chance. Bowman is for real.
