The Solution
Legend
Broad Statementi NEVER use carbs before training. if your glykogen storage got filled the day before, they are filled! no need to use additional carbs.
i always have a very strong pump (even if dont take ep1logue/re1gn with its vaso6). i dont think the carbs are the problem IF you eat enough the day before. or are you general on a low carb diet? if so, i would eat more carbs ;-)
- People who do keto, are their glycogen stores ever filled? No.
- Someone could be an endurance athlete and eat low carb (Say sub 100g) and burn through them via fasted cardio before going to train later at night. Does that equate to his glycogen stores being full? Not really
-Find someone who works a labor intensive job, and fasts all day and trains at night. Guaranteed they blew threw all their glycogen storage pending their carbohydrate intake.
-Take someone who is on a no-carb or very low carb approach. Do they appear full all the time? Or could they look fuller when utilizing carbs with helping their body fill out?
Lets not forget potassium and magnesium rich foods can also aid the pump (banana's, potatoes for example) especially if you include these pre-workout.
Being a low BF, and hydrating properly will always be king for bringing out pumps, same with using giant/super sets to increase blood flow, but there is a lot more to the equation. Carbs are only going to be a benefit in helping achieve the pump. Can you get a pump without? Sure, but could the results be better with them? Most cases yes.
Have 00A try adding 30-50g of carbs pre-workout for a week and see if makes a difference on his pump. I can almost guarantee he will find a better pump, and optimize his training in the gym. There are outliers who love the low carb approach and simply function/train better, but for most they thrive off carbs just avoid them like the plaque, or do not time them properly around their workouts.
