The Itch for competition

Hey everyone,

I've been a lurker on this site for a while and just recently started posting. I've got a question for you all...I know some of you have felt this way before or are feeling this way at the moment. Sites like these attract a lot of people who once played a sport and now just kinda lift to stay in shape, get big, get ripped, or whatever. Do any of you get flashbacks of competing in your particular sport?

For me, I was obsessed with football in highschool and chose not to pursue it into college, instead taking an academic scholarship at a state university. Looking back four years ago, I don't understand why I didn't want to continue playing sports. Now I have one more semester of college left and don't feel complete. I feel like I've missed out on a portion of my life, partyin and studyin, without any real competition...besides competing "against myself" in the weight room.

I've had flickers of dreams in my head about training to get back into football shape and trying out for an arena team, getting into MMA, getting into a track club, damn, I've even considered getting into break dancing just for the challenge. Any of you guys in a similar predicament or were once?

Looking foward to your responses.
Peace out

never was really competitive in HS, besides wrestling a few years, I didnt do much. I'm much more competitive now. In a week I have my first strongman contest which I am pretty excited about, and have been entertaining the idea of possibly competing in a BB contest in a few years once I get a bit more size on me.

Nice man. The gym I work out at has some strongman equipment that I use sometimes. What weight class are you in? Are you tryin to get your procard or just doin it for the challenge and competition?

just doing it for the challenge... i'm going to be in the HW division.
