The Death Metal Thread

Gotta say the Disposal of the Dead is the better part of the new Defeated Sanity. Love both, but suits my brutal taste perfectly.

Agreed. I enjoy the second part for it's pure 90's Death worship, and in fact it got me on a kick of that band - listened to Leprosy all day - but I prefer the Defeated Sanity portion as well.

Not to mention Koni is my favorite vocalist of all time. Passages into Deformity is my fave DS album. And he did vox for an Australian band last year called Revulsed. Album Infernal Atrocity one of the better releases in the past couple years in my opinion.

His original band Despondency's 2 albums are classics and they just reunited so...I'm stoked

I'm seriously psyched about this show in November for more than a few reasons!

Misery Index is great live. Saw them a few years ago with Dying Fetus. This whole line up is pretty sick. There's a band on this tour that I really like, Abnormality. Chick fronted Brutal DM.

But I like her other band better, Parasitic Extirpation

Oh yeah, big fan. I am honestly more into black metal as a whole than death metal. Listening to Leviathan right now, as a matter of fact.

...also, thanks for checking Adversarial out. They, in my opinion, stomp all over the lines that demarcate genres. They remind me of the original "extreme" metal bands, from a time before there was such clear distinction between black, death, doom, and so on. It's all loud and it's all furious.

Definitely liked their sound. I like a bit of atmosphere like that. Daunting and bleak.

And you're right, everything gets pigeon-holed into a sub-genre now. I like bands that defy that

Here's something way off the path

Yea. I would love to see spawn of possession and Gorod

Yeah buddy. Defeated Sanity and Unfathomable Ruination are the top 2 I need to come through right now.

Psycroptic on a Canadian tour right now, hoping they come through the states with this band right here I'm stuck on lately. Kind of generic brutal death/slam but just so catchy...
