There has been some interest in the art of William Blake thanks to Ryano's avatar, "The Ancient of Days" Invalid Link Removed
Blake (1757-1827) is probably more famous for his poetry, which ranges from epics that reveal his own unique form of Christianity, to dark poems describing the depth and range of human experience, expressed in the guise of children's songs ("Songs of Innocence and Experience").

But on to his art...

Blake was probably the 1st poet I discovered and realized that poetry is cool. I had just written a poem about the traumatic effects of the loss of innocence/ignorance as it gives way to experience/disenchantment; then I came across "Songs of Innocence and Experience" and thought, "Damn, muthafucka beat me to it."
