The Adonis Complex

I wish we had good machines at my gym, I am a big free weight guy, but I love having good machines for switching it up. Unfortuntately, not at my gym.

Free weights are by far the best but for this particular exercise the machine really targets the lats better.

Second day back after being sick I managed an intense leg day...turns out I failed in math and was leg pressing a lot more than I thought. For some reason I was only counting one side of plates so all my leg press numbers in the past is really double. That puts me at my heaviest for reps was 1,800lbs!!! And that was my 5 set! Wtf! Hellz yeah! Today easing back into it I didn't try that though lol.

Legs:

Hack squats:
180lb, 4x6
**I love how this gym has hammer strength hack squats, I miss that work out, really intense.

Romainian dead lifts:
135x15
225lb, 4x8

Leg press:
720lb 3x12
1,440lb 2x4

Short and sweet. I feel so dumb for miss counting on the leg press. Now that I just realized how much weight I am pushing I am going to by knee wraps. Honestly, knee wraps and a belt is standard for me. Gives you great support and will save your knees in the long run.

Wrist wraps are great but comprimise your forarm and grip strength. I use gloves with wrist support. Try harbinger gloves they're awesome and they wrap around your wrists.

Lol I feel the exact same way. Except I feel like a tool because all the thugged out dude with bandannas and b ball jerseys and swishy pants wear gloves at my gym. I use straps bc I beat it enough for forearm strength

Listen man...the is nothing frail about the weight you lift. Gloves are important bro. If you ruin your hands you can't ever lift again. When you are an old man you will thank yourself for being smart and safe. I need my hands for surgery. There is nothing bitch about a surgeon who can outlift most people. Gloves are justified. Watcch pros...they were all sorts of gear when they work out. Its important to be safe.

Your foreamrswith expolde with size if you stop using the wraps. I used them after I've exhausted my grip and want to lift more. I won't sacfrice higher weight so ill use wraps but I won't sacfrice my forearms stehngth either. A balance is necessary.

I totally agree my hands would truly thank me it's just a mind set I have to over come I guess

That's all it is. If some one wants to call my a p*ssy for wearing gloves well I will simply out lift them and then 20 years down the road still be lifting strong bc I protected my body.

I Totally agree. I mostly use wraps because I got tired of ripping the calises (I can't spell) off my hands. I might give it a try though

Oh and I agree balance is neccacery that's why I switch it up and go lefty sometimes..I call it the stranger lol

LMFAO! That's f**King great lol

Imo. On a cycle, all of the joint support possible is a good idea since muscles will begin to out grow tendons and that can lead to issues anyways. Elbows, knees, wrists... definitely save issues down the road.

Very true brother. I learned my lesson back in the day. I'm finally recoverying properly from back, shoulder, wrist, ankle, and knee injuries from sports. You gotta lift smart and have long term goals.

And this is why I wear gasp wrist wraps and sometimes elbow wraps. Tryin to lift until I'm old as hell. Need to take care of my joints now.

DO the elbow wraps help? Do you use them moatly for presses or also for other exercises and body parts?

My elbow hurts only with skull crushers and overheadextensions. Maybe elbow wraps can help?

Hit skull crushers off a decline. For whatever reason it helps wraps helped with everything but skulls when my tendons started acting up

I don't currently use them too often. Only when I get flare ups. I've found if I do 4 sets of rope extensions or with a v bar and do high rep low weight and get some blood around my elbows I don't have problems. I used to have trouble with skull crushers but now that I do this its fine. I'll do some curls as well just to get more blood in the area. Again very light with like 15's or 20's and for about 20 reps. Then if I'm doing skull crushers first I'll grab something light like 40 or 50 and crank out 2 warm up sets. But to answer you're question yes they do. I use a sleeve actually. Sorry. It's the same neoprene sleeve you see pros like branch warren using. You can find it online at dicks. I do find that it helps in pressing movement as it keeps the tendons nice and warm and it keeps the elbow tight and compact. The difference is definitely noticeable.

Same goes for the knee wraps. Keeps them nice and tight and that support you feel is amazing. I definitely can squat heavier with knee wraps.

thanks man....even when I'm warmed up my elbows hurt. Strange thing is, with all the pressing movements they are fine...

I'll defenitly try the wraps.

Thanks again

Damn dude your really putting on mass...that time being sick didn't do anything to you my friend! Awesome job keep killing it wow

Nice bro! Looking larger and solid. You are built like a fugging oak tree.

Appreciate all the feed back guys! I am going to finish my last 3.5 weeks real strong. I dropped the carb restrictions after I got sick. Carbs really helped fill me back out faster. I loved how dry and vascular my body looked with carb restrictions, however, I feel much better overall with eating clean complex carbs. Dropping BF will be a slower process but that's ok, I like keeping my mass and the fat I drop will be more permanent. I've being keeping the fat loss very slow and controlled so I can ensure I keephit off for good.

I am going to lift shoulders and traps today. 1 week post sickness I am up 9lbs to 218 =) I have been off of anavar and running SD at 10mg ED this past week. F**king love SD! The stuff is unreal lol my girlfriend is like WTF?! You're huge! You weren't this big yesterday. I am definitely liking 10mg of SD with test to finish off my cycle. Will report later with a work out.
