The ACHILLES Heal of Snags...

had to update for this:

so yesterday i saturated shoulders with load, had some good volume as well.
4x8/8/6/6 seated military press
3x12/10/10 front DB raise
3x12 lateral raise
3x12 bent-over raises
2x12 front shrugs
2x10 rear shrugs
dint get abs in (was bushed), but i'm not upset if i don't get in direct ab work during off-season. i rarely focus on stomach unless i'm close to a show.

anyway - point is, my shoulders are silky smooth feeling today, no pain at all, no tightness, no clicking..hell if i dint know better i'd almost say there was no workout yesterday..
crazy.

I LOVE THOSE!!!

of course.
Haney was awesome man. i'll just leave this here for the youngsters who may not know who he is.

Lee was the man. "stimulate, not annihilate" I tried doing his shrugs back in the day but my ass is so big that even when leaning back the bar gets trapped under it

3-WEEK REVIEW: at the risk of sounding repetitive i have curbed updates, but status is: nothing has changed here. i'm still getting great relief and pain-free movement going on..able to lift heavy weights without aches and pains..
(the only thing was ONCE AGAIN in training yesterday, i felt twinge in my R forearm, same thing i felt couple weeks back. it went away next day back then, and it appears almost gone here this morning, but still..we'll see how that goes)

SUMMATION: my high hopes for this product have been exceeded.
i have already procured my next month's supply of Achilles, as i wish to stay protected thruout this off-season of srs training.

Haha right! I got 6 months worth for xmas!!! I am healed

Awesome!

odds & ends, in this last week of review..
awoke this morning looking, well, pretty good and feeling, well - pretty awesome..
couple dietary maneuvers to tighten things down last couple days has resulted nicely, look harder than i should, development coming along fine.
for my diet intake, i've been running a lean gain caloric mode for a certain time, then ebb things back down to maintenance or just below for a shorter timeframe, before i flow back into excess. i notice this does the best job of keeping my bf stabilized and at a level where i am comfortable with.

still feeling very alpha (from my 1-Alpha)..strength and training are great, dietary #s have been nailed, and...
the joints feel like i'm a youngster again.

:woohoo:

Just tight and not spasms right?

Yeah I hate having to work around things.

BONUS ENTRY!

up early to do some legwork before a long day of work..
(dint get legs in yesterday, took day off)
thought i'd share a recipe this morning, as i make these pancakes for breakfast.
no pic, cam needs batteries.

2 scoops tasty vanilla protein
3 egg whites
1/4 cup dry oatmeal
1 tsp vanilla extract
enough water to make a batter consistency

directions:
mix oats with 1/4 cup water and microwave for 1min
add remaining ingredients and add water to batter consistency
spray skillet w/ Pam
cook in skillet until bubbles form on top, then flip.
optional: top w/ sugar-free syrup or berries

yum
:147:

depending on the protein you use..my macros look something like this:
365cals 53p/17c/8f

That looks tasty and the macros are awesome.

Snagglepuss used to be my personal cook

i'm a huge fan of stretching, kinda lose sight of it when i'm not involved in cardio activities (tennis, sprints, etc) during off-season.
got a couple different balms i use..this area calls for some non-mentholated mineral balm (from Jason).

uggh. news is not good fellas..groin is just wrecked.
today i look as if i really DO need a walker or a wheelchair.
not that it's a negative on Achilles or anything, but i haven't noticed any analgesic effects for this boo-boo. :sigh:
what a weird injury.

I hear ya man Achilles works great but no product is going to completely make you safe against injuries in this game. I have done the same thing and it took me out of squatting for a while but a few things helped me to recover quickly once I started them:

As Airborne said: Stretching. Stretch that area out three times a day. Work on mobility with things such as hip swings and other exercises to loosen them up

Deep Tissue Massages: The important thing to understand is that the groin is not the only problem. Plenty of other muscles are most likely tight and these are causing and imbalance in your groin muscles causing them to tighten and overload. Deep tissue massages with release all of the other muscles so that your groin may function properly again and free up.

Foam Roller: Same concept of Deep Tissues. Releases key trigger points. Do these twice a day and before leg workouts

Avoid any wide stance squats or deep lunges until you increase your mobility and groin pain goes away.

Also, Careful with the balm. The groin is very close to your 2 best friends and the balm can light them on fire! Unfortunately, I know from experience

appreciate that my friend, good advice there.
and i do have to mention that i am a huge fan of deep tissue massage - thing is i lost my built-in masseuse this year, so ima have to adapt.

as for the knowing from experience - been there done that my man. :o
that's why i use this non-mentholated stuff. the mentholated, it doesn't matter how careful you are, you are gonna be very uncomfortable down there for awhile (yikes. srs.)

Oh sh*t, look who it is...

Long time no see, snag.

long time indeed.
i see SNS just lets anyone rep for them....
:cool2:

in other news:
feeling slightly better today, a little more ROM but still paralyzing pain when it gets moved the wrong way..
ima bout to attempt some back/arms here, don't worry i'll gingerly avoid flaring the groin (i hope).

end summary of Achilles experience should be up this w/e.

lil mid-day update here:
after feeling very ruff still this morning rising, i've made huge progress as the day goes on..mobility is coming back, i can stride normally now.
i won't be sprinting anytime soon, but improvement has been lightning fast, out of the blue..
dig it.

Do you always have to come into a thread with such a condescending attitude in attempt to assert your knowledge?
it seems like this quote is vaguely familiar............

feeling almost 100% here this morning - in fact, busted out my 125 DBs for some flat bench action today..chesticles were engorged, looked pretty manly.

You? Manly? :yeahright

In all seriousness, good **** man! Glad to hear your groin is starting to feel a bit better. They really are some of the most obnoxious and painful injuries to have.

FINAL SUMMATION:
Achilles is a revelation in the power of herbs..this stuff is on the money.
notable things to mention: worked almost immediately, and rapidly progressive from there..analgesic effect was very nice..first week or two in, i had this nice sense of calm and 'peace' if you will - i just felt good. this was a nice side effect!
very impressive was the fact Achilles went to work on my long-standing shoulder issues (tho minor), increasing ROM and easing pain that i thought was just 'normal' wear & tear. perhaps most impressively (or skeptics may say because of this) - i used cissus stand-alone for almost a month shortly prior to starting this log. there was little to no improvement on ROM/pain (tho it did help heal some elbow issues i was having), yet within a week i was getting relief with Achilles.
i think this is some potent blend of herbal magic, for sure.
huge fan guys, great product, and yes - i did purchase another bottle to run. ;)

thanks again for giving me the opportunity AL, it was an awesome ride.
