THC - Maryjewona cons & pros?

Try not to take this so serious. It was funny regardless of your stance on the topic. When someone says they want to squash groups of people and then being called Adolf- it's hard not to laugh.

I thought it was pretty funny as well.

Edit: and, 6.5, I have nothing more to add. Kisaj hit the nail on the head with this post.

Its easier to swallow if it wasn't a defence mechanism derived from passive anger towards the subject. I just sided with drinkboy I guess. Normally I'd laugh.

I'm sure you are a good guy Jim. Just a bit misguided in this topic which I have done extensive research on. No different than someone trying to help out a noon with a cycle. We are here to help and this is a marijuana based, educational thread

You side with the idea of "squashing" people of a different opinion than you? Seriously?

Whether it's legalized or not is not for me to decide, no amount of arguing makes what I, or you for that matter, say any more right.

But, seriously, squashing groups of people with differing opinions?

Why would you side with drinkboy, he wants to squash everyone who doesn't enjoy weed. Stupid reason to go on a squash fest... which is why calling him Adolf is fitting.

I agree... to "educate everyone" into having a open mind on the topic would have been a less Hitler way of saying it.

We know what he meant... or maybe I am seriously the only one who could see what he was trying to say. I sure hope not. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you guys really haven't had much experience with personally smoking marijuana. People tend to grab on to other people to share that relation with when they're unsure about how to handle discussing pot. Lots of people are in the dark and the fact it has been banned for so long puts it in a criminal environment and then by association.... pot users are "bad news". If coffee were illegal it would be the same way. Trafficked by criminals (although I doubt there are as many people willing to buy illegal coffee haha)

Where is drinkboy? I want to hear his rational.

With a comment like his, I doubt there will be any.

Although, educating everyone on the positives of MJ will only change the minds of those people who are on the fence about it. People that hate it (such as myself) will still hate it.

No amount of science takes away the personal experience I have with what happens when the people I've seen have used MJ.

So basically you have PTSD for MJ. Understandable. What if you were introduced to a whole culture that flourished, even though they partook daily?

Sad but true. That's what this is about. It's basically harmless and yet you associated with people who have "ruined their lives" (which pot cant do, period. Its not addictive and smoking all day every day may just make you lazy, but you're choosing to be lazy... not ruining your life) so unfortunately for you yes, you will always have a misguided notion about it and will probably never ever come out of your train of thought. I can respect that and move on.

Ive been smoking almost daily (well, vaporizing these days for lung health) for 18 years. I don't mean to brag but I'm very successful and have a healthy salary as a corporate businessman and also teach advanced guitar classes on the weekend. I still hit the gym 3-4 times a week for the last 3 years adding 35 lbs of lean mass. Pot might make some people lazy and hang out with the wrong crowd and that could ruin your life in the perfect storm but people are perfectly capable of smoking everyday and leading very promising lifestyles. Its simple positive choices. Don't hang out with criminals.

Impossible to say how I would respond to a hypothetical situation.

Although, even if it were able to change my mind about allowing others to use it freely (which for the most part I don't care now as long as it doesn't affect me in any way, including smelling it or anything else) I can say that there is absolutely nothing that would change my opinion about myself, or my family, using it. (specifically using it around me, because again, I hate the smell)

I have the utmost respect for this kind of post. It's completely understandable if you've had bad exp!eriences with it or have ties to people that are bad that use it causing a by association psychological effect

Fitness freak, I did not mean for my comment to turn into this nor did mean physically squashing people. Sure I could have worded it differently but I think 6.5 was the only one who understood what I was meaning to say. I mean no harm to anyone. You are right that its a drug and should be treated as one. Its just that the whole reefer madness thing is outdated and if it helps someone in need, great for them. If someone doesn't agree, more shmoke for me!

6.5 is that a corn cob pipe in your avi like the one I bought my dad from secret Santa workshop? I like it regardless.

Haha no its whatever default stamp the photo editor had as an option. Its not even there because I smoke, I just used it to liven up the pic a bit haha

And yes Hitler, you should be ashamed of your thirst to educate people. Hell, there are plenty of stupid people that I wouldn't mind getting the ol' squish anyway.

I need to put on an avi but I only use my phone and have not ventured around much OR asked anyone if its even an option via phone.

For First Time, Americans Favor Legalizing Marijuana
Support surged 10 percentage points in past year, to 58%
by Art Swift
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- For marijuana advocates, the last 12 months have been a period of unprecedented success as Washington and Colorado became the first states to legalize recreational use of marijuana. And now for the first time, a clear majority of Americans (58%) say the drug should be legalized. This is in sharp contrast to the time Gallup first asked the question in 1969, when only 12% favored legalization.

Libertarian checking in.

Marijuana is a toxic carcinogen, not to mention it robs you of your wits and sense of reality (for a short period of time).

It has its uses, but not without its side-effects. It can be beneficial to some, but I would urge you to not use it often.

I'm for its legalization, but it doesn't mean I fully support it for recreation. If you choose to use it, that's up to you; it's not my call. - My opinion of it has certainly evolved over time.

I'd argue, especially the "robbing you of your wits and and sense of reality (for a short period of time)" I've passed multiple test while high, I've actually never failed a test while high, and these tests I'm talking about aren't easy, one of them being the LSAT. Just my personal experience though, could be different for others obviously.

It has different effects on different people. I have friends who don't like to get high because they too experience this lack of sense of reality or suffer extreme panic attacks. I thinks everybody has their drug of chouice, some use alcohol, some like to get high, depending on which effects they like and side effects can handle.

Everybody uses alcohol as a recreational drug so whats the difference in getting high vs getting drunk. I see none when strictly speaking about recreational usage.

The effects of alcohol are in a completely different realm than Cannibis as it is far worse for you.

As far as pot "robbing you of your wits and sense of reality for a short period of time", I have to say that's just not true. I can almost argue the opposite in saying my creativity is usually through the roof after recreational use. Pot doesn't make you smarter, but it hasn't made me slower in any way 18 years later. I'm sure a lot of my employees would be shocked to know I smoke almost daily. As I would probably be just as surprised to find out how many of them smoke as well haha.

May I ask what industry your company is in ? Just out of curiosity. :)

My employees would be shocked as well, they wouldn't even believe me. I think it has a lot to do with our tolerance levels, once you get used to it and know how to handle every aspect and every situation you're golden.

I feel ya man people are usually surprised as hell when they find out i smoke but then I dontvsmoke so much to get high anymore its my PTSD and anxiety medication. Its funny ill take a prescribed med like xanax or Valium and people ask if I'm OK and I can't get the motivation up to train but if all I do is smoke a little bit I'm good to go to bad there's no medical cannabis in Texas and I have to resort to shady drug dealers had to snap a dudes arm a few weeks back when he pulled out a knife and told me to give him my money. Not the best thing to do to a kind of swole combat vet

Dayum... robbed the wrong dude. Thats sucks you have to deal with shady people. The people who I get stuff from only sell buds and are the opposite of violent. Really normal and frankly, overly nice if anything. Hippies pretty much haha. I can't remember the last time I even hung out with a "thug" haha. Only deal with people you trust is my main rule.

Put another tally on the board, boys. Portland, Maine has now legalized Cannibis for recreational use!

Nice! I'm in Illinois and we will have medicinal in 2014. However, in typical IL fashion they need to make sure the politicians get the correct amount of pocket lining.

Fellas I been thinking about this issue a lot, pot... Is it good for ya?... Well there's a lot of opinions out there about it and I've heard almost everybody's opinion on it, except of my fellow gym goers.

What is your guys opinion on pot? Can it be useful or beneficial in any way? Does anybody know if it produces any catabolic process in your body (if you don't munch out)? Or can it be a useful tool during bulking cycle (obviously if you have a poor appetite)?

I just recently restarted smoking around August, at that time I was religiously attending the gym. But after restarting I kinda got lazy and cut the gym visits by half. Now it's kinda a drag to get up and go to the gym. Now I don't know wether it's the pot that made me lazy or just the summer season which tends to demotivate gym goers mid way. :-/

Anyhow cons and pros about the topic?
Pros: Increases appetite, helps you calm down/relax and increases drowsiness at bedtime.
Cons: Can cause paranoia mixed with some AAS can be bad, for some people it can demotivate you.

So I have contemplated for a while and I've come to a conclusion....... weed is good.

I wouldn't say its good, but its not bad. Certain people can smoke and some cant. But i do believe in moderation its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
