TGR's Modified PowerBuilding v2.0

Good food and a free beer always a good way to end the evening!

I need bands so which ones should I buy. Are they individual or sets? Look like great pricing right now!

They have the Meadows pack, which is a great buy, but maybe it's cheaper to buy them individually right now.

The bands in that pack I use all the time.

If I had to only choose a minimum number, I would choose...

....scratch that. I'd choose the pack.

I just tallied them in my head. Buying individually is cheaper right now. Placing my order.

What are you, or did you, get(ting)?

And don't forget to get two each...

Looking at the pack, I think they gave me two micro reds and two mini oranges.

Still, cheaper to buy doubles of each and get free shipping, beanie.

Great order.

Should hold me over during my travels next year.

Wife made her first meatloaf last night. Only had a bite, but it was great. Gonna fuel my squats today.

Neck is still stiff, but improved.

Christmas presents FTW! Meatloaf looks great! My wife makes it with cranberry sauce on top instead of tomato sauce, yum!!

We'll have to try that. She's never been a fan, but who doesn't like hamburger?

You could have hit 5 for sure. Maybe 6. Just watched it on YouTube. That said, don't expect your PRs to "make sense" once you start dealing with the heavier percentages. Congrats on the PR!

Thanks Ian. No complaints here. I bypassed my 2016 squat and deadlift goals a long time ago.

Edit: 2015 goals

Good work reg. Strong skwattin. Any reason in particular you like the bands so much? Just wanna hear another opinion on them

It's just another accessory. I struggle with lock out on squats and bench maxes, so that's why I've been using them there. On ext, leg press and such I notice huge strength improvements with the band work.

John Meadows does a lot of band resisted work, and prior to 531 I did his routines. Just grew on me.

Gotcha. Thanks. So you're saying you get more carryover to your main lifts when you use banded stuff on your accessories. Hmm

Well, I don't know about direct carryover to be honest. It improves my accessory work a great deal. So if the accessory work already helps the main lifts then yes, the carryover would be better/quicker.

I love it for squat cause as herder told me nothing teaches u to stay tight like being crushed by an a$$ load of band tension

There's more than one way to skin a cat. But, I like to use enough band tension to literally skin a cat with tension alone

Ha.

Unfortunately it's a huge pain to walk weight out with any appreciable amount of band tension.

Nice work man!
Don't know how you give it this effort so early in the morning but good on you!!

Yeah, I'm going to have to get back to the early lifting regime. Hard to give up my early morning coffee time but it's coming.

You just have to get up earlier. I had coffee for about 30 minutes prior to.

Man my body just doesn't function early in the morning. Joints feel terrible until I get a few hours of movement under my belt.

I can understand that. Some days are rough.

Sledding sounds like a ton of fun...til I remember having to drag it back up the hill. I could crush a buffet after sledding.

Thanks Simon.

Well, I guess my session this morning was rough due to tiredness. I felt wiped by 0900. Fortunately, I had to meet someone at home at noon, so I'm napping and lying around the rest of the day.

What is this thing you call "napping"???

No wayyyyy, man! That's the new one?!

Yes. It'll be fixed tomorrow. At least it doesn't affect our water usage at this time.

Sucks about the well man.. Seems to require a lot of upkeep. Congrats on more PRs dude, seems like every session.

That's it. 6 max was 445, 5's is 465. I was wanting seven but I caught myself trying to hitch so I dropped it.

I feel like my back was more neutral, but I'm blind when critiquing my own stuff.

I'm sold on the new belt placement, FWIW.

Critiques welcome.
