TGR's Modified PowerBuilding v2.0

HA! What was wrong with my boot dance? lol

Haha nothing for a white boy...don't worry, I'm as white as they come! Well, other than my ghetto booty! Hahaha

Nice PRs and love that "thick" belt! Stop resting already and lift, will you! (Reverse Psychology)

Thanks Mark! Testing that belt out this morning during my rest-squats!

Seriously tho, taking the weekend off. Next week I will take a break from the programmed cycle and take a bench break. Maybe only high bar, too.

After my last few squat days I didn't think I'd see a total volume PR anytime soon. This feels good.

At first I questioned if the belt was right enough because it felt so much more natural. I could feel the help out of the hole instead of feeling it pinch and bruise my waist like the last one.

Also, moved my wrists out as far as they can go in this rack. About 1-2" outside of ring.

Warmup was pull-aparts and some split squats. Shoulders are tight and sore today.

High bar SUCKS. I am so thankful I switched over. I felt like the bar was pulling my neck down.

Congrats on the PR! Looked easy for you!

Thanks Mark.

Very nice On the band there should be constant tension through the entire motion

This is my first time trying it with these bands. The other bands i'd wrap around the DB and there was constant tension. I'll play with these too. Thanks.

Just don't want to see u get hurt
I wouldn't do anything stupid. I'll try doubling up the pro mini and work up with lighter weight to see where I'm at.

Slaying it in here on the squats! I'm not a belt guy but must say I like the look on the Inzer and can see where this style is advantageous. I always hated the buckle style for the same reasons, pinching and bruising.
Bravo on the PR too!

Thanks Wasme. I can see it in the video, but I was breathing heavy at the end. Lack of cardio...

New Posts quick-link and search function is disabled. I hope this is temporary.

Yay the belt made it to you! Awesome!

Chalking the shirt up is something I do all the time, too. I'll even do it with the wolf bar out of habit(it's a 65lb bar with knurling covering the whole thing).

Are there shirts that are specifically made for squatting (in place of chalking the shirt)? I would just hate for the chalk thing to be brought up. Our gym doesn't really approve, but they haven't called me out on DL yet. I couldn't DL without it...

New training schedule following this break or deload, whatever it becomes.

Day 1:

Chest AM
Arms at lunch

(The purpose is so I don't skip arms, but I'm also not adding another day of heavy elbow/bicep work)

Day 2:

Dead lifts + hamstring work

Day 3:

Lats

Day 4:

OHP, light chest and shoulder pump

Day 5:

Squats + quad work

This does not include rest days. Hopefully I'll stick them in where needed. Gotta get that cardio up too.

Do the 5 days coincide with Monday through Friday?

Do the 5 days coincide with Monday through Friday?

It'll all depends on recovery. I tried to base it off a M-Su schedule, especially because I prefer to have the time the weekend provides to do legs, but I'm not going to rush through a week just so I can hit X on a specific day. That's probably why my arm pain exists. I miss a day here and there and then I try and play "catch up" just so I can restart on a certain day.

Sounds good. Do you have a specific training program you are using for each day or do you just choose certain exercises for the muscle group planned for that day?

I follow 531 SVR for my compounds, then either borrow ideas from other logs on accessory work or do stuff I learned from doing MountainDog. It just depends on what's available, how much time I have, and what my weaknesses are.

Headed to the hunting camp in a few. Taking kiddo and a friend so they can ride the ATV/bike. Might shoot some firearms and let the dog get some free time, too.

Sounds like some fun. How does the dog respond to the firearms? I had one dog who loved it and the other would run and hide

I'll find out today.

They may not notice...I don't think it is a must, but every bit can count. Especially when you get closer to the 1RM

I'll do it. I did notice the last couple reps of my AMRAP the other day the bar started sliding.

Now I have to find a craft-full way to explain it to someone in the gym to put it in my back. lol

Nice job broski. Sorry I'm not in here much, but I see your technique on FB. I am proud of you brother. Take care of that back and hips though, mine are getting worse by the day. If I could go back I would have stayed away from maxing anything. Except food intake and intercourse of course

Thanks Andrew. To be fair, though, your injuries weren't from lifting weights. Thy were from eating and intercourse. :D

Another rest day.

I can still feel abnormal feeling in my left bicep/arm. I think tomorrow I'll do farmers walks and dead hangs to stretch it out. Then maybe some flys and lateral raises; stuff that doesn't irritate it.

Myrtle does ok around the shotgun, MARK_. She was about 30' from where we were shooting skeet, and she looked anxious and curious, but not scared or anything. I didn't have her near us when we were shooting the rifles and handgun, though.

Wife's a good shot. Showed the kids up on the .45 and on skeet.

Gonna good off some this morning then take the kids back. Coming back next weekend to do some turkey hunting.

Hit it big guys.

Enjoy the family time!! Sounds like a perfect weekend!

You don't have to chalk your back unless you want to. It's all positive, but if it'll get your chalk use terminated it's not worth it. I literally only chalk my back at competition.

Thanks guys!

I accidentally unsubscribed from someone's log, and I have no idea whose it was. :(

Rest day #3, more than likely. I will try and not go at lunch.

Maybe tonight I'll do some band stretching and foam rolling. I'm really hoping this down time does wonders for my bicep.

What kind of bar is this? It looks really fat.

3 rest days? Your gonna lose all your gainz man! Haha just kidding you can use it.
3 rest days is like Thomas is on vacation. Sounds like he had a fun weekend outdoors anyway with guns and motorcycles

I'll make up for it with three-a-days for a week.

Mad Max style...

I heard he set a PR while on a rest day this past weekend!
