TGR's Modified PowerBuilding v2.0

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you don't take off easy...lol

On one hand I wanna say you should have rested, and on the other I admire the drive

Good song Lol sure you can you crazy thing!! You're always killing it! It was about this time last year when your allergies were bad wasn't it? You body may be fighting off more than you think!

This is the time. The headaches haven't started tho.... There may be some truth to that. I still have my nasty cough and drip.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you don't take off easy...lol On one hand I wanna say you should have rested, and on the other I admire the drive

I have some links saved of some core work and other weird goodies that Sean does, and I really need to start doing those. That way if I don't rest I'm at least not jumping too quickly back to a compound. Thanks Rob.

DLs this morning. If I feel slow or tired I'll stop at 405. Otherwise, 460. :D

Child free again tonight because kiddo is on his class trip. Maybe I'll get into bed at 7. Lol

Barbell Front Squat 205

Belt-less-
Set 1 : 135x2
Set 2 : 185x1
Set 3 : 205x1

Notes:

FS were just done for balancing practice. I kept the reps low so as not to do any DOM damage.

Deadlifts... I thought I could psych myself up for 460, but like all my other lifts this week I just didn't have it. It also doesn't help that I had to skip two Pandora songs then got stuck with two long commercials leading up to the pull. I felt like I stood over the bar for a week.

Also, if going for a PR I need to wear my belt on ALL work sets. After 320x5 my lower back already started to feel it.

I wish I would've videoed everything over 4. Felt heavy but moved fast.

<img src="http://anabolicminds.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115914"/>

LOL. Love it.

I'm going to take it 'easier' this week...

Not sure why you stopped pulling, it came off the ground fast. And a 70# jump may be a bit much, but if you can make it work idk.

Rest up, big guy.

Gave up? Didn't have tight air? Dunno

When I went to pull 450 I jumped from 405. 390 was prescribed, so I figured I'd save the energy and make the jump.

Next time, brace like a motherfcker and pull til the cows come home. If you have to hitch or the bar comes to a complete stop, drop it. Until then, enjoy the ride.

Edit: this is the mentality for heavy singles. The majority if your training should be clean, smooth pulling.

Haha perfect!!!

Still a killer session this morning!! I think you would've had it if you tried again but applause for jumping for it! That was a huge jump! I can jump 20lbs once I'm closer to my maxes!

I probably would have done a pull in between just because u were close to a max. normally like to do 10-50 jump to a max if I've never pulled it before

I guess so. I just figured if pulling another 4XX before that one I'd have lost XX%.

Dude... still some impressive pulling.. nice job.

Thanks Simon.

That will be the plan next time.

On the bright side, no pain anywhere today (shoulder is still tight tho).

Understand that none of us are get on u for the decision to make the jump it important for u to learn what u can do and your limits on jumps so now u know a ruff idea.
I get where your coming from on the wasted energy thing it's like when I pull 525 I jumped from 405 to 500 then 525 thought I would waste energy on the 455

I'm glad your shoulders are on the mend

I think you had it. A little longer rest, and I think you may be right on the tight air. Awesome deads regardless!!

I saw your video. Nice work before and after that 460. Your jump was crazy. Was it 390 to 360 (or close to that)? I can't jump that high. I think it's partly a mental thing though. Great overall workout as usual.

Maybe mental. I'mo hoping for some good rest tonight.

It was 360 to 390 to 460. Maybe the jump was a little over-zealous. I still should've had it...

INZER just said the belt is shipping tomorrow...

Bar came up fast, but you would have been in a bit of a tough position to finish. I think you have the power; you don't have to put this together any time soon. It will happen at some point - I've no doubt. Try to get the upper back tighter and hips down a tad more so you can try to pull back, not up. Back=up, up=forward.

Good call. My hips do look higher on that setup than on the first.

I think you could of had that, like l&s said. a bit of a large jump too. would of probably hit like 425-435 to prime up a bit for 460.

You're just braver than me, that's all! You're a beast!!!

I won't jump so large next time. Thanks Capo

I dunno about that.... CT Fletcher watches videos of you to get motivated.

Rest day.

I still feel tired.

I checked out a gym near where u work. It's small, but it'll do. Wish I had brought a change of clothes with me, I would be knocked out OHP.

Pull-Aparts and O&Bs I used the pro light mini-

Gonna try and get the boat going and take it out. If not, probably take kiddo to ride the ATV at a mud-hole in Ocala.

You earned some "fun" today! Nice job. Enjoy!

Heavy rowing - and I see you gave the 100 rep "never say die" set a roll! Just a fun added pump, assuming you already do a bit of heavier bicep work in the week I figure it can't hurt.

Go have fun today - should be a blast!

Thanks Mark! Headed to the ramp now. Took a while to get the boy up and running.

I have been slacking on arm work. I'll try better to squeeze in some more next week.

SOlid work there brother... how did you find that 30x100?

Painful. Slightly so when I got 30, and continuously painful throughout.

Strong pressing man. Damn finally that belt is coming in tho! Smh better be a good fit or else ull have return it and wait again lol

Hopefully you don't have to "row" the boat...lol

Nice rowing Thomas! Not sure I could do meadows after bent overs. Do you go wide grip or shoulder width on those? I tried wide but couldn't get more than a couple reps at 205. 185 not too bad. My 225 is about shoulder width or a hair farther.
100 reps of any weight would probably kill my biceps and elbows...lol

Hahaha if only...

Strong OHP and rows Thomas! I'm gonna have to try the banded meadow rows.

No way. If it's too big (doubtful) I'll take it to a leather worker and have more holes put in it. If I put on too much size I'll just cut down. I need to soon anyway.

I came close! Boat fired up on the ramp, and as soon as I put her in reverse she quit and wouldn't start up. :(

Pinky just inside ring. I'm stronger when more narrow, but I did narrow pulls on the cable a couple weeks ago. Maybe I'll do them narrow next week just for the PR. :)

As for the meadows.... Yeah. Last time I did them banded I worked up to 100 for several sets. My lats started quitting on 80, so that's why I busted out two more reps and backed down.

Hahaha if only... Strong OHP and rows Thomas! I'm gonna have to try the banded meadow rows.

I meant to take a pic, but I put an 85 hex DB under the bar and looped the mini around it. I did the first couple reps with a double loop, but no ma'am, my lats couldn't take it.

Thanks everyone. Trying to knock out food prep since the day is shot. I'll check in later on everyone's logs.

BOAT = Break Out Another $$$$Thousand

Bicep DOMs from that one set. Lol

Since I haven't been making time for arms, I think I'll do them on my lunch break either on chest day or DL day.

Legs on tap after church. Should be my first (semi-) comfortable high bar singles week. Not planning on hitting a PR. Maybe work up to something relatively easy for multiple singles.

Above, I meant comfortable low bar.

Barbell Squat 350

Set 1 : 45x10
Set 2 : 145x5
Set 3 : 145x5

Set 5 : 200x3
+Belt

Set 8 : 295x3
+Video
Set 9 : 325x1
Set 10 : 350x1
Set 11 : 350x1 (guy started racking weights on my rack mid-lift. Wtf?)
Set 12 : 350x1
-Belt
Set 13 : 315x1
Set 14 : 315x1 paused
-High bar
Set 15 : 135x30

That's it! No time for accessory work cause I'm loading up the neighborhood kids to take them riding on ATVs and dirt bikes. Low bar felt really good. Heavy, kinda, unracking, and I need to get used to not walking so far back like Hyde mentioned. Sometimes I remember to stay real tight, and other times I didn't pay attention.

Edit:

I had intentions of posting this while they rode, but before they finished two laps one of them submerge my ATV. What a day.

Nice depth Thomas with heavy weight! I think me and that guy would've had words after I finished that rep. Who does that? It's a wonder he didn't bump the bar trying to get around it as you were going down..f$*kin' schmuck!!

Dat ATV depth, yo! Really sank it! Lol I'm so sorry man; what a nightmare. As for that old man, I'd have definitely addressed the situation afterward - he's risking major injury to the both of you that is completely avoidable with some common sense.

I didn't even think of that. I tapped the safety bars on 170 and it threw me off; had to lower them. A bump at that weight for me would've had me drop the bar possibly.

I prob should've addressed it so he's aware next time.

I couldn't get 230 off the rack on my own. Bicep hurt too much (started irritating at 185). The guy spotting me said the bar kept slowly moving its way up my torso on each rep (belly towards chest). Not sure if that means a whole lot; I expect some sort of form breakdown on higher reps stuff. Six is the most I've pressed 230 (82%), I think, but is 3 reps shy of a volume PR. I didn't fail a rap but surely didn't have another one in me.

The hammer strength stuff felt heavy too. I've got to do something about the arm. Going to start incorporating hammer curls pre-bench, doing arm day the day of or immediately after bench day (so I recover before pressing again). I've been slacking on doing arms because:

A) Mine are big enough
B) I thought it contributed to the arm pain...

However, I think it's gradually getting worse by not doing them.

Also going to try graston, h/t Sean in DMax's log.

Also, h/t Sean on the banded push downs. Those were harder than normal push downs on the lock0ut.

Squatting like a beast. Did water enter your ATV engine?

Squatting like a beast. Did water enter your ATV engine?
It doesn't appear so. All the lines and the air filter were dry. Going to drain the oil and gas, and clean the carburetor before trying to re-start.

Just got caught up. Nice work all around. That's crazy about that guy racking weights while you were squatting. Nice 30x100 on the biceps. Lots of pull aparts I see. I think I need to incorporate some of these. That ATV though! Couldn't use the boat in the water, so the kids took the ATV :)

LOL

I love pull Aparts. Loosens me up real nice and isn't too exhausting.
