That's the same position I bench with 1-2" inside rings. Keep shoulders feeling good and I get a lot of lat & tricep drive. And a buddy benched 500 raw by that way and swears by it for raw guys (so you can sit on the lats better) and it really jives w/ me, so whatever.
Jeremy Hoornsta benches there too. Can't argue with a 672 bencher...

Doesn't really mean anything if you're sore or not. I do the same really for squats and deadlift. Chris Duffin's glute activation. Sometimes if needed, I'll mash my glutes or hamstrings with a lacrosse ball, or maybe a hip flexor stretch. That's all dependant on the day.

And regarding the warmup drills - think about it like an investment. Do you hop in your car when it's bone cold and mash the pedal to the carpet? Nope. And metal is a lot tougher than people parts, so if anything you wanna be more careful. Not saying you should do all those (or that I do, because I don't) but they're a pretty awesome place to start. 10 min to warmup is worth saving weeks skipping lower body work because you pulled a ham.
