TGR's Modified PowerBuilding v2.0

Killer session! Congrats on the CG PR! Interesting kettle bell "to eat" lifts! You are always thinking about food! Lol

Nice work man! Really like how you are pushing on those CGP's! Will help add plates to that bench!

I'm hoping so, thanks Brian.

Wife was ready to go. I didn't feel that well this morning. A few too many drinks last night....

I'm going to try and get a nap in before heading to the hunting camp. Ready for a day of rest...

290 for 8 (possibly 9 :burnout:) is awesome! :35:

You freakin ROCK! Congrats on the PRs beastman!!

Thanks guys!

I actually have to edit my log. Hit a PR of 7 reps (after watching video). This is why videoing is important, because math is hard. Lol

Looks good, but I would use the ol' "find a spot on the wall" trick to help solidify your erectors and get more glute and hammie activation. Your back looked a little rounded on those, even with the belt. I'll testify to the glutes and hammies adding to the strength. I got 335 for reps on SLDLs last year, and all I did was focus on a straighter back.

I need to remember that, even on conv deads. Thanks Mountain.

I felt ready to hit them again. I think I did my singles last Saturday or Sunday?

I really liked adding weight to my back on the BSSs. I want to do those again next week and keep going up.

Hmphh.

No deer tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Invalid Link Removed

Lol I know how hard it is to count past like 6 reps on those AMRAP sets. Started having my dad (lifting partner) count for me

Barbell Bench Press 286.67

1 min rests on all sets except 3m prior to the two AMRAPs.

First 3 sets SS W/ DB rows. On those three sets I also banded my wrists together to help stretch my lats. Band resistance pyramided up.

Set 6 : 180x5
Set 7 : 200x13
Set 8 : 180x5

Last 5's day my max was 190x13 and 145x21. So, rep PRs and matched my calculated 1RM of 286.67 (last week hit that PR)

Awesome workout today. I wasn't planning on going today, but there ha been no movement all week at the camp so we came home early. Wife was ready to go to the gym when I got home.

Oh, and the 2nd 180x5 I did with a 2s pause on chest. Makes it a little harder.

You're on track for some big PRs. I see you hitting 3 wheels this year if ya don't diet down on us too hard

Thanks Lift. I definitely see it too.

I'm VERY SLOWLY dropping calories, and may end up raising them and adding I'm cardio days now that the wife is going.

Your numbers on those last two works are impressive as hell... sorry the hunt didnt go well, but as Hyde said you killed it in the gym!

Nice! Becoming a press man, gotta love it! Pause reps on bench is where it's at.
Sucks on the lack of deer but is awesome the wife was ready to go to the gym!

Thanks Brian. Hopefully she'll be up for going after SAMs today. Love going post pizza. :)

I find that my presses respond well when doing AMRAP work w/ 531 method. Keep it up man. ur bench is getting strong

Lower Back Day (decided to spilt them up)

Barbell Deadlift 431.87

Only wore a belt on the AMRAPs. 1m rests on all except 3m before each AMRAP and 2m after the PR AMRAP.

Set 1 : 160x5
Set 2 : 200x5
Set 3 : 235x5
Set 4 : 265x5
Set 5 : 300x5
Set 6 : 350x7 (w/ belt) PR

Invalid Link Removed

Set 7 : 300x5 held that last rep for eternity, until my hands just gave out.

Set 8 : 265x14 (w/ Belt)

Sweating bullets...

Only used chalk on the 350.

So... Today's first AMRAP was supposed to be 340. I was so mad that I was toast on 7, leaving me shy of a PR by one rep. That last rep felt SO heavy on my glutes. I was furious.

HOWEVER, I didn't realize until I got home that I accidentally had 350 on the bar. Just damn. An accidental PR.

Barbell Good Morning 273.33

Set 1 : 135x10
Set 2 : 185x10
Set 3 : 205x10

Took about 50min, and the wife was ready to go. She already said that she wants to be home earlier tomorrow because it's the first day back to school. Grr...

Anyway, upper lats tomorrow. I'll have plenty of time.

I focused on looking at a spot on the floor in front of me, like MountainMan suggested.

One more add-on. Brought my feet in a little closer. Not as close as Sean's, I don't think. I think I like it.

Lookin good. Make sure you're squeezing your badonkadonk at the top hard. Looks like your knees are wanting to bend at *******. That's just very very minor. Good work.

Deads toast you fast. My rep strength can vary widely depending how I feel (and where my brain is at).

Congrats on the PR. 265x14 too...gross.

Sucks about the wife wanting to leave early. Just explain that your workout is going to be 1.5 hours (or whatever it may be) beforehand.

She's allowed me time so far. I'm just glad she's going. I don't want to give her a reason not to.

Thanks Lift.

Been gone a few weeks, I see some damn strong lifts here!

Nice work!

(Don't you just hate those hex plates)

You going to incorporate any touch n goes while doing the 531?
