Are you sure on that? Long esters are like your enanthate, cypionate, decanoate, and the undecylate of EQ. The short esters are for example propionate and acetate, not prop and cyp.
Long esters - enan, cyp, deca - low melting points
Short esters - prop, phenylprop - high melting points

I'd consider cyp easier to work with for homebrewing simply because it's an actual powder at room temperature. Enan is more like goo at room temp which can be a bit more difficult for measuring, transfering, etc.
