Test Cyp forever?

My doctor is starting me on 140mg test Cyp weekly and HCG every other day. He is a Dr so I do believe what he says-BUT he is also a person and not perfect. He feels that if I do this I will most likely need to do this for life. Would I be better 3 months on and some time off the Cyp but continuous on HCG? I need to be cautious of time off because I will be getting blood tests every 3 months. I am aware time=time off. So my question is this--if I cycle for 3 months (until first blood test) then take a month off followed by 2 months for the next blood test-would this help my dependance for life? Another way of asking-is taking some time off better then no time. I have read HCG will block estrogen-so that is why I would stay on it constantly (as prescribed by the doc). I don't want to cycle off for 3 months since the doc will see it in my blood test and probably thin I'm selling the crap leading to no more script.

if you need trt then you dont want to come off. hcg eod seems a bit overkill. also why dnt you get this moved over to the anti aging forum and also post up your bw so we can have a look.

hcg DOES not block e2 if anything it increases it dur to producing more test

To be blunt, no you can't cycle TRT to reduce the possibility of needing it for life. You either need TRT, in which case if you do, you need it for life, or you don't need TRT.
You would maintain your best health IF you had the ability to maintain the testosterone levels in our 20's into your 60's, 70's and 80's. TRT does that for you. Why would you EVER want to quit?
Another reason you don't want to play with cycling is because you need to do routine bloodwork so your doctor can monitor you progress. If you had blood drawn while you were off cycle or using more than required, it will alter you blood tests and therefore alter your doctors treatment plan. It takes 4 to 6 weeks depending on the person to reach steady state testosterone levels. That means if you cycled, you would have to plan 4 to 6 weeks out every time you had to go see your doctor.

And as ambulldog said, HCG definately does not block estrogen. It may have its advantages, but it comes at the price of raising your estrogen.

Keep an eye on your Estrogen levels, HCG stimulates the production of estrogen directly in the testes. Here's a study showing that estrogen lowers the body's response to HCG.

Direct Inhibitory Effect of Estrogen on the Human Testis in Vitro

The direct inhibitory effects of estrogens on human testicular functions were investigated with a testicular organ culture technique. 125I-labeled human chorionic gonadotropin (125I-hCG) bindings in testes cultured in media containing diethylstilbestrol diphosphate (DESDP) began to dose-relatedly decrease a day after the start of the culture, and this decrease remained relatively constant during the 5-day culture. On the other hand, testosterone produced by the cultured testes time-relatedly decreased during the 5-day culture. From the above results it may be concluded that the direct inhibitory effect of estrogens on human testicular androgen production consists of not only the loss of testicular hCG receptors but also of other mechanisms at a distal step from hCG receptor activation.

def overkill. Twice a week on the HCG should be more than sufficient.

If you are on TRT from your doctor you will not have to ever take time off. YOu can use the blast cruise technique to run the occassional cycle. Up dose for 10 wks then drop back to your TRT dose. Your TRT dose is your time off period. HCG is overkill for sure. Twice a week is ok but if you know you are going to be on for life and have no desire to have kids then HCG really is just for cosmetic purposes to keep the testes from shrinking.

not quite accurate on the hcg front there. hcg stimulates the leydig cells in the testes which produces a number of hormones inc test, dhea among others. its an important component of trt. i used to think it were just cosmetic until i did further research especially on the leydig cells. theres a lot to it

Thamks for all the great information. I guess I was being an idiot-I should just stick to my Dr's plan. I am sure I really don't have to have treatment-but I could use some of the benefits. I'm in my mid 30's and of course I want to feel like I'm in my mid 20's. I did a few cycles at 21 and I felt incredible-I would love just half that. Any thoughts on what this will do for joint pain?
