Taste of pure glucosamine and chondroitine ?

I make order on ebay.
Yesterday the package arrived, I tasted it, it tastes like chalk, and is completely different from the salty sea taste of glucosamine that I had and still have now.
Can it taste other than salty?
I already think that this is a fake, although the seller has a high rating.

That’s so readily available I doubt it’s faked but who knows these days. I only take tablets when I take it so can’t speak to the taste.
