I am slightly confused about the procedure of isolating testosterone from Synovex as I am unable to find the 'kits'. The following procedure is my summary of what I believe I should do:
1) Take 15 carts and remove pellets using a key into a jar. Each cart = 8 pellets = 200mg T and 20mg E. 15 carts = 30g T, lasting 12 weeks assuming using 100mg T 3 times per week
2) Pour HEET methanol into the jar of pellets
3) Leave this solution for 1 hour, stirring and crushing every 10 mins. Cover the solution so it does not evaporate. This will isolate the binders, which should settle at the bottom.
4) Syringe up the solution, leaving the binders behind into a new jar through filter paper.
5) Pour NaOH (caustic soda dissolved in water) into the jar for 1 hour (2 tsp of NaOH per 5 carts). Liquid should be opaque but with no particles
6) Add 500mL of water in the fridge (cold helps crystal growth). Allow slow dripping throughout. The E will be soluble to water while the T will form crystals.
7) Drain the liquid (E, HEET and water) to another jar through a filter paper. Collect the crystals
8) Put the crystals into another jar. Pour NaOH into it (re-solubilize left over estrogen just in case) and leave it for 1 day.
9) Wash with distilled water 20 times. At the 19th time, check pH using litmus paper to see if all of the NaOH is removed
10) Put the crystals in an oven. Heat to 75C for 3 hours while chopping up clumps with a razor blade every 20-30mins.
11) Use the razor blade to scratch all the crystals off of the filter paper and weigh it
12) Pour the crystal into a glass vial and then add appropriate amount of bacteriostatic water. Add so that we get 100mg/mL.
13) Microwave the solution for 1 min, then shake to dissolve, and microwave for another minute.
14) Syringe the solution into a sealed vial
I believe this method (using NaOH instead of Na-t-butoxide) will actually produce Testosteone Suspension, instead of Testosterone Propionate. Is this correct?
I would greatly appreciate any constructive critique of my procedure, as I won't begin without confirmation from experiences brewers.
