Sweet Potato alternatives

Or good carb sources in general.

I only have access to white rice and am looking for other ideas.

I'm in Baghdad, Iraq and not on a military camp so what I can get varies and is somewhat limited.

The idea is to get a few things and see if some guys can find it downtown or in a market that's restricted for me.

If your looking to keep things simple:
White potato
Pasta
Bread

If you can get a bit fancier:
Beans
Lentils
Quinoa
Cous Cous

All can be served in similar dishes to Sweet Potato.

Yeah, white bread, naan, and regular potatoes are available.

Just find things to add to the rice. Sauces or seasoning makes a huge difference
