supps for my father

bulls**t

Member
I convinced my father to try a supplement for a month. He is 55, and is moderately physically active with a fairly healthy diet. He has been a drinker his entire life, so I assume that his test is somewhat suppressed moreso than the normal loss that comes with age.

My goal for him in supplementing is more quality of life than muscle building. I was contemplating the new diesel test, or cnw's trib extreme potency. Any other ideas?

Also he brought up a concern for his prostate health when supplementing. I explained that as long as his test is within the normal range, its not a concern. I could be wrong, I admittedly dont know much about supplementings effects on older men. Any studies or info I can show him to assauge his concerns?

Thanks guys.

DHEA is an idea.

I second that. There have been quite a bit of studies on that.

If he's worried about his prostate (i.e. he doesn't have any current problems), he should get that checked regularly - regardless if he takes any supplements or not.

Does he have other problems, since you mention he's a drinker (hypertension, liver problems etc.), i.e. does he need some supplement to support his health in general?

Dhea, good multi vitamin, start slow with exercise if he even wants to, hes 55 years old and probably set in his ways but try to steer him towards eating healthy food if he doesn't already. With the Dhea 50 to 100mgs theres a bunch of posts around here about it.

going to get a checkup would be the best thing before doing any of this. He needs to get a baseline on his health before going and taking anything. If everything looks good though, I agree with the DHEA.

I'm 55 and have been lifting since i was 25 and I take a100mgs of DHEA daily plus visit my doctor every other month
yes give him the DHEA and if he has not get him too the doctor for a check up.

SizeMatters

Suprisingly, he has no hypertension or liver issues. We are middle eastern and eat a diet rich in extra virgin olive oil, garlic, etc. so that may be a factor.

Thank you guys. 100 mgs of DHEA a day it is, following a visit to the doc.

Given what Ive read in a few studies, it seems as if tapering is not needed, if this is wrong please tell me.

Am I correct in my understanding that Dr. D has shown their is no concern in conversion to estrogen?

Also, any reccomendations for brand to purchase?

Thanks again.

You could get the powder from Custom and cap it.

Or get a scale good to 50 mgs and give him 100. Those 2 would be cheaper options for longer term DHEA dose.

Or you could put it in a transdermal.
