Supplements that should not be combined

"Lysine and Arginine should not be taking together if they are of the *L* form because of the L-Arginine & L-Lysine compete for the same receptors. A proposal would be to replace L-Arginine with Arginine Pyroglutamate because of that competition for the same receptors. It is suggested that Arginine Pyroglutamate attaches to a different receptor allowing for synergistic effect."

I've seen this type of Arginine/Lysine commets several other places as well (don't recall where).

Although it seems unrelated, it has been reported that excess Arginine can aggrevate dormant fever blisters, while Lysine causes a redcution in fevel blister severity.

Hmmm.... a controvery.....

Hey thanks Undertaker. I go away for a couple days and come back to some good reading. Everybody is digging out their notes.

How do you get the persons name in the quote when you quote them? Never have done it right.
Either click the button that says reply or use the code:

[ q u o t e = N a m e o f u s e r ] T e x t h e r e [ / q u o t e ]

without the spaces

I started this thread to get everyone's ideas on what Supps.,Herbs,
etc... should not be combined together. For example, Ginko Biloba and Asprin come to mind. I don't have the articles to explain the details of this bad combo but I know they are both blood thinners and just don't do well together. If you have any bad combos that everyone new to the forums as well as the regular crowd can benefit from, let's see them. Supps., herbs,ph/ps,etc......
Well I know that Ginko and aspirin shouldn't be combined because Ginko acts as a vasodilator in a sense(because it improves circulation) and aspirin is a blood thinner. So yes those two would be a bad combination. I know some supplements arent good to take with other supplements or drugs because they could actually lower or increase the effectiveness of that drug or supplement.

I know Usnic Acid shouldn't be used with a number of drugs especially antibiotics because it can actually lower the effectiveness of those drugs and that Usnic Acid can actually make you allergic to some drugs or supplements that you normally are not allergic too.

I know I read an article about 2 years or so ago about not using Saint Johns Wort with certain medication espeically MAO inhibitors, Cox1 and -2 inhibitors and some other medications because it could actually heighten or lessen the drugs effectiveness and lead to possible over dosage.

Ephedrine is a vasodilator, and the ECA stack is common.

Would Trib be considered an ED product. About to start taking Arginine and don't
want to take Trib if it is going to be a problem.

Arginine and any ED product.
Blood pressure can drop too low.

Noticable side - very stiff neck, and dull ache at base of skull.

What about AAS (and methylated orals) and grapejuice (pompelmo juice)?

From what i remember, grapefruit juice should be avoided with methyls to not increase toxines in the liver (in a very simplistic way), while the effect is auspicable with all liver-friendly drugs. More imput on this would be useful.

I think there is still conflicting opinions. Greapefruit supposedly increases the potency of methyls. As far as increasing toxicity, I do not know.

Red yeast rice and niacin? Didnt know that until I just read the fine print on the ryr bottle. I dont really know why though. I have noticed that it makes my skin prickly and break out. Any other info?

Could you please explain the phenogen and creatine thing?
Here's what Par had to say about using creatine with phenogen:
Par Deus said:
Malate is a substrate for ATP

The GPA is Phenogen works by making ATP formation inefficient (thus, wasting calories).

If you need less ATP because of the malate, it won't have to be formed through the wasteful process.

Creatine is the worst offender, because it and GPA directly cancel each other out.
There's some more info in this thread: Invalid Link Removed

Just Bumping This

I figured I would bump this thread up. It seems to be a very important subject. Everyone needs to be safe. I was thinking of researching IBE's SILDENAFIL/TADALAFIL 30ML liquid and also Cabergoline. I am also using ephedrine at the moment. I have not started either IBE product as of yet. This thread educated me not to use any No2 product or Ephedrine with any ED product. This is what I am using right now,

Coral Calcium Plus
Basic Cuts
Vigor
Rebound Xt
Activate
Lean Xtreme
E-HCL 75 mg a day spread out in 3 doses with the Basic Cuts
CLA
Taurine

Now in order to research the SILDENAFIL/TADALAFIL 30ML, I would have to stop the e-hcl, and taurine, correct?...I don't think you can ever be too careful. The Taurine I'm not to sure about...

5 HTP with any anti depressant medicines as you will get very very ill with re uptake syndrome.

Also

Kind of funny painful lesson, when i was younger i was getting into all sorts of supplements and looking for the next health add on. Unfourrnitley for me, i found GABA and Niacin at the same time and decided to dose on the heavy side of both with a friend. 20mins later i literally am SUNBURNING (with of course lack of the sun) from the inside out. At first was kind of a tingling feeling, then felt like it was getting hot inside.

Next thing i know, i'm running down the hall way to get water and to get outside where its 30 Degree's. My friends like WTF DID YOU GIVE ME DUDE!. I'm like "I'm burning!"

lesson learned, rofl.

Also, if i remember correctly your suppost to avoid a few supplements while on HMB?
