Supplements for my fatass roomie...

So my roommate has taken notice of my new found physical fitness, as he put it... He's interested in starting to work out again. Actually I think he's taken notice that the ladies have taken notice...

Now I am no personal trainer, and I'm not about to "train" this guy, but I have no issues suggesting supplements and workouts.

He's 27 and fat, maybe 40-50lbs over weight. Not obese, and not beyond help by any means, but he's gunna need some serious work. He got on a workout kick this spring when he was trying to get in some girls pants and lost a noticeable amount of weight in the 3-4 weeks, so I know he's capable.

What kind of fat loss supplements are out there? I'm the polar opposite of him, as I am desperate to gain weight, so I know next to nothing about fat loss supps. The faster he starts seeing results, and the better the supplements make him feel, the more likely he'll be to make a real change this time around.

I think I am going to try to get him on either an Intimidate/Erase stack or Testabolan/Erase stack for motivation overall... The dude needs some serious help in the Testosterone department, but I'd have to write a book to explain it all. Let's just say this dude went from dating a Dallas Mav's Dancer 5 years ago to recently "dating" a girl for 3 months and not even making a move... He lives in the friend zone now, and from my own experience with test boosters I feel like he's greatly benefit from a good hormonal boost.

So what else might help this dude shed some belly fat and start feeling good and looking good?

Sounds like he just needs to WANT to make changes. I wouldnt recommend much more than the basics for him until things get back into full swing: Fish oil, creatine mono, whey protein, etc.

Once he gets back into the groove I'd probably recommend Alphamine stacked with Erase for better Alpha-male feeling and fat loss.

while intimidate/erase or testv2/erase are both awesome combo's, id suggest your buddy get his training/diet in order before jumping into supp stacks.

but once he's got that under control, he can deff. look into those products :D

Honestly the hormonal supplements are more for "life" issues than anything... As strange as that may sound, even a man who doesn't work out can benefit from more testosterone and I've got a good feeling he's majorly suppressed. The motivation and confidence from the extra test/hormonal balance is more what I was shooting for in my roomie's case.

When I got my boys back up and running, it made a WORLD of difference. Working out has only been a part of my whole life transformation this year, but getting my testosterone levels back up began a chain of events that helped me make substantial life progress. I had an incredibly stressful job from the age of 19-23 and it absolutely wrecked me hormonally. My health lead me to quit my "dream" job, but the last year of my life has been a good one and I am feeling better than ever.

I know this sounds like I am starting backwards, but I've always been one of those people that uses supplements as motivation to get going again. We've lived together for 3 years now, and I can tell you he's very much like me in that respect. Taking a supplement first thing in the morning has a very strong placebo effect on some people, and add to that the very real effects of hormonal enhancement, and you've got a very powerful motivation "system".

Intimidate/Erase was a crucial step in getting me where I am right now.

oh, i deff. understand. with the libidio boost, and the general mood uplift from test v2, its deff. an awesome factor in really getting into the swing of things. on the flipside, i wouldnt wanna see him spend his money on the supps, and go into with the "magic pill" mindset.....not put as much effort into his dieting/training and be disappointed :)

diet and training first...then supplementation

Hit the nail on the head right here...priority being nutrition and eating habits...lower carbs, good fats, and clean protein sources...lower calories overall should be the goal....then cardio will only amplify things even more.

There are many diets out there but dont get caught up in them until you do your homework. You'd wanna do some calculations for his weight versus calories because the best approach is a thought out one and his weight loss goal won't happen overnight.

Then supplements are sorta like the cherry on top. But go to the root of the problem first. Nutrition!

Thanks man and i agree with everything u said above...

I really like it here at Am.Im made to feel welcome since day 1,no smart asses or *******s.Everyone is helpful since i first joined. Some smart dudes around these parts.

Dude,i havent been training as long as most people here.I been training for appx 6-7 years,3-5 days a week even 6 @ times.I work constriction,so i get my meals in as often as possible and take whatever energy i have left after a long day and put it in my weight training. I only took a multi vit,Fish oil,Flax oil,Creatine,Whey protein as my basics,up until now..I messed with a few pre workouts through the years.L-arginine,L-Taurine,some natural herbs like trib and fenugreek, some fat burners, caff& aspirin stack etc.... thats it.I even for almost 2 years took no supps at all, nothing, not multis or anything and all i did was eat.I bulked and cut many times and always made gains. its just now 7 years later im starting to mess with supps and way more into detail and specifics. I could have messed with supps years ago,but felt no need.i now feel its time.i felt i had to put my time in training in and rely basically on only FOOD and know what im doing! Its done some amazing **** for me,food that is,lol..

I also have a bro who been training since 96 and is a fkn animal,so i ask him for advice constantly. My form is perfect,my rom perfect, diet spot on ( not perfect =(,but very good )..I know what im doing in the gym,to a T..just a complete retard when it comes to supps, kind of.

So i preach food always, thats how i always did it.

This is the right answer as far as your friend getting fit. from a mood enhancement perspective, Drive is pretty cool. I logged it before becoming a rep and noticed huge improvements in mood/ sense of well-being and a huge libido boost. You should check it out.

If you want to lose weight effectively one only needs to track calories in, energy expenditure out and create a deficit. Especially being as heavy as your friend is the weight will fall off at first. Once you get down below about the 15% range it slows and gets a little trickier. IMO

Could be that he is just depressed and training will definitely help with that. Most of the people responding to you, myself included, are reps and I agree with them that he needs to at least start with basics even if basics is starting to train and looking at his diet. You have to be careful not to throw him in the deep end, but having a friend who is giving him positive motivation is going to get him further than any supplement right now. Once he gets into a routine and gets used to his new life, then we can start talking about kicking it up a level.

Dietdrol and Cardiodrol.

(I will lol at you if you google those)
