supplementing with lactic acid?

One of the may reasons for lactic acid type training is the premise that when exposed to lactic acid, nuclei initiate protein synthesis.

This may be a naive question, but has anyone given thought to supplementing with lactic acid intra or post workout? I have searched the forums, and all I have found is calcium lactate being used in certain test boosters. Any thoughts on this? is there something that I am overlooking? I would imagine that stomach acids simply dissociates the compound into Ca ions and lactate ions. These could then recombine into Calcium Chloride and Lactic acid. Perhaps a shuttling system such as HBCD or a simple insulin spike could then shuttle the lactic acid to the muscle nuclei.

Stop me if this is ancient history that has tried and has failed.

Any input is appreciated.
