I have heard others say it is best for bulking, and I have had good results with bulking. However, I have cut twice on it and it worked well each time. I dropped bf% and kept my muscle measurements each time. I actually appeared to gain some size, only a little mind you, but that is fine since I was just mainly wanting to not loose any while cutting. So I would say yes, it works ok for cutting. As long as you cardio and diet right. I did have some hunger cravings, obviously, but I was able to keep those under control. good luck.
