I had arthroscopic surgery for my full labral tear in of my posterior shoulder on Monday and am using bulk Super Cissus to get back on my feet. I used this when I broke my arm last year and it helped me heal up quick, so I am doing a "mini log" here for this time around.

I am 4 days out at taking SC @ 4g per day split in 2 even doses, one morning, one evening. I am still in my sling, but am starting to work on my shoulder movement and am having no pain. I did also dose SC weeks before my surgery and have had no pain, and I do believe it is because of this approach I took. I'll keep this updated as best I can with typing with one hand.

Get well soon buddy, I know the Cissus will help but take it easy. :)

good luck man i ahd surgery on my shoulder almost two years ago and thats wen i found cissus and it helped tremendously!

i know, but I'm a damn machine and cant stop...come too far to take it "too easy"

Arm is out of the sling during the day now and I am moving it around. At night I put the sling back on and have noticed some fluid retention/swelling in my arm, probably from moving it around. Ice packs take care of this, so I will continue as planned unless there is pain, then I will back off a bit.

doing good still. Arm has stayed out of the sling, even at night. Working on my range of motion now and only a week out from surgery. Have almost full range already. I do tire out quickly though and have no strength in the muscle. Also I keep ice handy for just doing the dishes exhausts the shoulder and causes some slight swelling in my tricep, put some ice on it and its fine. I'm hoping to hit the gym this weekend, but I'm not going to push it too far, dont want to screw things up. I have my Dr. appt this week so we'll see what he thinks.

Love me some Cissus!

Good news, Tat. Even regular bulk Cissus has helped me heal up super fast from various injuries. Add Oratropin and it's like Wolverine fast.

I'd love to try that, but I think the wife would freak out if she saw some strange things in the fridge all the sudden.

That's damned impressive. It was years ago but I have had both shoulders scoped to repair detached labrums and just about everything else in the shoulder. I was not allowed out of the sling except to the hanging circles for 4 full weeks with 2 more weeks part time before beginning 12 weeks of therapy.

I wonder if it is advancement in surgical techniques, the cissus, a combination or if it was due to the other problems in my shoulder. I believe I was told the tacks in the shoulder would not set for at least a month. Either way good luck with the therapy. If you have any questions about how the therapy is progressing or anything else I'll be happy to answer as best I can.

I broke my fibula recently. I was told it would be 7-8 weeks of recovery minimum.

Its been 6 and I'm walking on it. I'm sure I could have in weeks prior, but I gave it a little extra time to heal up.

I was using Palo Alto Incarnate with a little extra NP cissus during this time.

thanks for the offer man, I appreciate it.

1 week 2 days out of surgery. No pain in shoulder at all, I have full range of motion and it feels normal under normal circumstances. I still have a bit of pain if I try explosive movements, but I'm still healing so its to be expected. Still dont feel strength in my shoulder, but it is coming...every day that passes it gets better 10x more than the previous day. I have my post op appointment on Thursday so we'll see if he clears me for the gym (light recovery work) for the weekend. If he lets me go, that has to be some sort of record, 1 1/2 weeks after surgery and back in the gym lifting... well maybe not, but I like to think so.

no gym this weekend. Dr. said he wants me to lay off the weights for another 2 weeks... we'll see. I'll give it another week, but 2 is questionable. My shoulder feels fine as it is, but I'm not going to push it too hard.

No PT at all? I find that surprising as well. Did your doc give you shoulder stabilization excercises and/or specific streches?

He wanted me to go to PT, but I had to go back to work...the appt. ran late as it was. Will probably head down there after work, but he said I could do alot of the stuff myself.

A lot of the stuff can be done on your own. In fact the PT would give you therabands and excercises to do at home. It is the specifics of the stabilization excercises and streches that target the interior of the shoulder that you will probably need. Also the machines at a good PT office are much more adjustable (both weight and pulley location) than at most health clubs. This allows for some specific excercises that are dificult to duplicate. Finally the therapist will do some manual manipulation of the joint where they provide the strech and/or resistance through some unique motions.

Some things that should help with the rehab---The Shoulder Horn is a great tool. Believe it or not the Body Bow can work the inside of the joint very effectivly (I did not believe it until my therapist made me use one). There is also a relatively cheap book called "the 5 minute rotator cuff solution" that has a lot of the therapy stuff in it. I know your problem is not cuff related, but much of the therapy is similar and strengthening the cuff is what stabilizes the entire shoulder.

Continued good luck and quick recovery.

Just remember this is a lifelong game my brother.
Another week or two or three (gasp) in the big scheme is nothing.
Really not worth the risk at all.

Ive made this mistake before, and 16 months later now I still regret it.

Feeling great still. Went out today and shot some skeet for the first time today and that was a blast. Went through a few boxes of 12ga rounds and wish I had more time out there. I know I'll be jumping at the chance to do it again.
