Got a few weeks for the bowl game suggestions. Sooner is better than later as I am moving in a few weeks (back to the land of poisonous nuts) and will be without regular internet for a while.

Well - I'm the Comeback POY. I jumped from 12th to 4th on the strength of simply hedging my bet that the Evangel Christian QB phenomenon would rear it's ugly head Saturday.

Sure enough - I was right.
 
When I do the totals I go by the spread given at the begining. I know the spread changes, since I do my share of gambling, but I stick to what was given on this page. The BCS thing was a joke as I am sure you know, I went with his first pick, and both were wrong anyway. Hopefully that clears stuff up.

Yeah, like I said. That guy from Shreveport Evangel sucks. Just kidding.....I was all rah rah for the guy from Louisiana. I played my H.S. football there. I was being a homer. Nice call on the upset of the year.

Well, I got some good picks this week. My money is Denver -2.5 over Arizona, that's highway robbery !

Other minor bets I'm making are:
St. Louis -3 over Oakland

New England -11 over Houston (this team has given up!)

It has shifted, it opened at Nevada -2 or -3, it's now Miami -3, quite a big lline move if you ask me.

This could have happened

1. Many bettors placed their $$$ on the Canes so the house had to make an adjustment

2. Nevada looks great on paper but they never really beat a half decent team this year and people are realizing this.

3. People got smart about the Wolfpack. Nevada has no big play makers that can really damage the Canes, just shut down the 1-2-3 holes and they're toast. They lack the speed to break runs to the outside. Their RB's (Lipincott & Hubbard) will be shut down. I scouted these kids in HS (I'm a HS coach and I help a buddy at a JC) and they run tough but they won't cause much damage. If they fall behind early then kiss their chances good bye. Their QB won't beat you. Their defense is above average. All their wins came against teams with losing records.
 
Yeah - but the game time temp will be like 0 degrees, and you know how us warm weather FLA teams are in the cold. :rolleyes:

They can do it. Nevada is not a true 8-4 team. They have no wins against anoyone with a winning record. They lost to Fresno St. 28-19. I would also expect the Canes to show a little bit of testicular fortitude. I don't think they want to go into the off-season with a loss to Nevada after all they've been through. They will be ready to play. Nevada doesn't have enough horses to run with the Canes' horses either. The only way I see Miami losing is if they beat themselves. You don't have to kill them either, you just have to beat them by 4 points to make me happy :D
 
OK, I'm in OH now and will be busy for a while, but should be able to check in fairly regularly. I don't care where the odds come from, but I'm all about picking three of them. Someone post some some official spreads and lets do this thing.

Let's just stick with the spreads as posted. Reason being the threads consistently move so it will be easier to just stick with one source of spreads.
 
Navy 7.5 over BC and..........
Boise State 8 over the "Collarbone Comeback" (OU)
Bowl games are difficult to pick because you have to guess which set of kids really WANT to be there. There is just such a layoff and it could be easy to become unmotivated/distracted.

And - the karma to end all karma - Florida beats OSU* on a bogus penalty.

I'm not saying it's a Pass Interferance - but something that is totally bogus.

Iowa always seems to show up during bowl games, I'm looking for a great game from Tate to end this bad season.

Florida will take OSU...after studying game film Earl Everett sucks as a LB...it takes him about 2 seconds to react on every play and he NEVER attacks the line of scrimmage, I bet this man has no tackles for loss. He is great in pass coverage, they should seriously switch him and crum. Crum can't be a worse run stopper and Crum is just lost in pass coverage when he has to take a RB or a slot receiver.

Looks like I forgot to play. Things have been crazy with the move and holidays and all. Hopefully this will be a great Rose Bowl tonight. I won't go as far as to cheer "go blue" or anything, but I hope Michigan wins.

I wonder how up they really were for that game - after getting left out of the championship.

Loses to OSU but wins a BCS game, would he still be fired? Next year anything short of a natl championship bid will be a disaster and he should be fired with the team he has coming back. USC over Mich for the natl championship game...
 
I think so. That's a rivalry that you just can't go 5 years with having one win (that'll be Carr's record if he loses next year against Sweatervest).
