Hi Everyone,
1. As summary, I have done a Stronglifts Big Five Lifts, 5 *5, for two weeks now.
2. So far, I have been quite pleased with my progress:
a. My strength is regaining rapidly.
Two weeks ago, I was 155 * 5 bench press. Today, 195 * 5 bench press. I am regaining the strength I once had. I just wish these rates would always increase like this!
b. My muscle mass looks also impressive. My biceps are almost as big as my head. I used to have that when I was on Oxandrolone.
c. My cardio capacity is completely detained, as I have not done formal cardio for nearly four years. Still, that is not a focus.
d. Given that weight lifting makes my hunger go up like a horse, I am eating whatever. My scale weight is going up. I am probably gaining both muscle and fat.
3. In my teenage years, I was so afraid of being overweight. At the 30% bodyfat now, I would diet down in a panic.
Now, I realize why I never got much stronger.
Currently, I am married. So, being trim to look good for the women does not matter.
4. At my current stats of 39.5 years old, 174 cm, 210 lbs, 30% bodyfat, what happens now?
Do we have any meta-studies, etc. of people already overweight, detained, and getting back into the gym?
5. My guess is:
a. Strength will continue to gain back rapidly to near the levels I was at when I was younger. This is assume I still do the "eat whatever diet," without restictions.
b. Muscle mass will do the same. Ibid.
c. My fat mass will stay the same or even go up a little. But, in contrast to office workers or couch potatoes, it is not so bad because I am gaining strength + muscle along with the fat.
d. Eventually, I will hit a plateau in strength and muscle mass? My guess is about the 3-6 month mark on Stronglifts?
6. Then, once that plateau hits, I can do a body transformation challenge, such as the old Body For Life or dozens of similar ones. Then, I can diet, lose that body fat, while maintain as much muscle as possible.
